Right on Via Della Pace, in front of the beautiful Bramante's Cloister, and just two blocks from Piazza Navona, you can find this little pizzeria that, despite its central location, is not a tourist trap but rather serves very good food. There are a few tables outside, especially for the warm Summer days, and three rooms on a basement level downstairs. Pizza is good also for people with digestion or food-tolerance issues, and is prepared in the wood oven just in front of people, as a guaranty of how things are done and what ingredients are used. Also recommended the suppli (deep fried rice balls), which are home made and very tasty. Service is polite and prices honest. read more

This is a true authentic Italian Restaurant, one of the best pizza places we've been to on our current trip. The food was really good. My husband loved his pizza which was the Quattro fromagio and I had the Diavola. He rated his meal a 5/5 and mine a 4/5 because mine barely had any cheese on it. The tiramisu was fine but not great (Nothing spectacular) . My husband said service was mediocre; they did their job but they did not go out of their way. A coworker had recommended this place and I am so glad we looked for it. We almost walked right by them as they were in the process of having renovations done but the food was SO good. Our daughters claimed this was the best restaurant we are at in Rome. I ordered the ravioli with pesto sauce and both my daughters ended up eating most of it. The salad was delicious as was the pizza. 'Whenever' we are lucky enough to return to rome, we will definitely come back here. read more

Love this restaurant! My family of 8 went here last night for pizza, pasta, and salads. The food was all delicious, and they had great beer on tap. I'd especially recommend the lasagna, pizza diavola, and the spaghetti carbonara. The pizza is baked in a nice wood-fired oven. It's on a quiet little side street, next to a gorgeous building which my kids all thought looks like Gringott's Bank from Harry Potter. Highly recommended! read more

This is A fantastic pizzeria--not too much sauce or salt. We also had bresaola salami appetizer & wild boar fettuccine which was terrific. Great wine list and reasonable prices. Service is quick and friendly. No cover charge. Outside dining area is no frills. read more

We enjoyed our late lunch at La Focaccia. It was a lovely afternoon, just perfect for sitting at one of their little tables outside. The beautiful view of Santa Maria della Pace church made our experience all the more atmospheric. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. He provided helpful suggestions regarding wine and food and had a pleasant manner. We started our meal with various "fritti" or fried foods. We ordered the incredibly delicious "fiori di zucca", which are mozzarella and anchovy stuffed zucchini flowers in a light golden coating; the traditional Roman "supplì", tasty rice balls filled with hot, gooey mozzarella; and the "zeppole ripiene con carciofi", mini fried dough focaccia filled with yummy chunks of artichoke. Each portion came with two pieces, which was just right to whet our appetites, but not completely fill us up. Next, we tried homemade pasta all'amatriciana, which was scrumptious, except that it had too much fat from the pancetta in the sauce and sat a little too heavily in our stomachs afterward. The pasta, however, was fresh and cooked "al dente", which was just right. We also had an Ischia salad, which was mainly rocket salad, with some endive, tomatoes and avocado. It was enjoyable, but I wouldn't have minded more avocado and larger chunks of endive, instead of shaved. We drank Satrico white wine with our meal, which was a good accompaniment, as it was light and fruity, but not too sweet. Last, we finished off with a lovely strawberry and lemon millefoglie, which was delectable. I would recommend this restaurant next time you're looking for a charming and authentic restaurant near Piazza Navona in Rome. read more

First Yelp fail! I'll start with the positives. The view was great. There was no wait. And the pizza crust was great. Unfortunately, it was mainly downhill from there. The mushroom pizza was bland, though the crust was nice. The swordfish steak was thin, fishy, and dry. And the lasagna was straight up chef boyardee. Truly mushy and tasted like it came out of a can. The house red was interesting. Kind of sweet and fizzy. My husband found it hilariously delicious. I would never return and wish I would have gone back to De Francesco's for the third time in three days. read more

Most amazing meal in Italy, highly recommend! Didn't look very nice from outside, but the food were fabulous. Most of the Italian food were kind of too salty for us, but here the dishes were just right. I tried pizza with Gorgonzola, mozzarella, pear and walnut, looked weird but turned out to be the best pizza I ever had. It was fresh and tasty, the crust chewy. My friends had chicken breast, spaghetti and salad, all enjoyed the dishes very much. Friendly and helpful staff. A good ending to our trip around France and Italy! read more

I came here based on the reviews. This place had bad service, took forever to get our orders in and to actually pay for the food. My friends and I ordered a ravioli and meat lasagna. This pizzeria is very unassuming but worth a visit. The only seating on the entry level is outside. Otherwise, you have to go down stairs. For me, this is unquestionably the best pizza in the centro. read more
