Taste like store bought not home made

This place is a mess, Don't go you will regret it. They served food on a stain plate that should be in the trash can. But Take my word if not GO Take that Chance but believe me you will waste your Money. Presentation was gross! One star for the ice water!

We filled up the bar and they stayed open late for us

We had our class reunion there from Central Union high school, it was great. Antonio and his wife were very accommodating and they had great service. The food was good and the bar drink prices were extremely reasonable. I will definitely be going back. Tuvimos reunión de la escuela y Antonio y su esposa fueron muy lindos. La comida estuvo rica y los precios de las bebidas muy razonables. Definitivamente regresaré

The Menudo hit the spot.

The food here is really good. I like the welcoming atmosphere. Have been here a few times now and will continue to visit when I'm in town.

Not being familiar with the culinary scene in this area, the La Fonda Bar Grill was recommended by a business friend who insisted we visit for great food, customer service and ambiance. The place is huge, with many photos, artwork decorating the walls, and there are many seating options. Upon entering, our group was greeted nicely, sort of like we were family relatives. Our server was very nice, attentive and efficient. After being seated, we immediately received our chips, homemade salsa and drinks. The chips were nice and crunchy, and salsa tasted great. My friend recommended I try the "special quesadilla plate" and I did. The Special Quesadilla plate is a homemade deep fried tortilla dough with Jack cheese and comes with rice and beans. We also ordered a spicier salsa, and a Chille relleno salsa which were equally diecious. The quesadilla was cheesy crunchy, delicious, and I couldn't finish it, so I took the rest home for a late-night Scooby snack. I really enjoyed my meal here and there are many more traditional Mexican American culinary inspired options to choose from. Free parking is available.

I hadn't been to La Fonda in possibly 30 years, I was craving a chimichanga & decided from my recollection that theirs was a memorable experience. In those years I recall they had moved several times, my first visit there was when they were located on Adams; they are now on 4th. The hubs & I decided to stop in after lunch to avoid the crowds & it was still busy but had an attentive waiter but not intrusive. As we were seated we were given chips & salsa. I quickly noted it was very watery with a few chunks of onion & tomato. Gosh was it spicy! Ordered the chimichanga plate that included rice & beans. The chimi was adorned with lettuce, guacamole, sour cream & the spicy watery salsa. It was beautiful & crunchy on the outside with delicious meat on the inside just like i recall the meat was exceptional. Halfway through my meal if became soggy. Why? That watered down salsa! I would order again with the exception of the watered down salsa to be placed on the side.

Subsequent trips to wild wings I've ordered the same burger but it isn't as good. But I went again a week ago and the burger was fine so it kinda depends on which cook is working. I would have rated them 5 stars but due to inconsistency I had to rate them 4. I liked the fries and that burger is a 5 star burger when made right.

I need everyone to gather 'round because what I'm about to say…read more.. hurts my soul, my spirit, and my taste buds. Today, I encountered chicken wings so offensively bad, so disrespectfully dry, so dramatically flavorless... that I'm convinced they were created out of pure hatred. Dry? These wings weren't dry -- they were ASHES with bones. I picked one up and swear it whispered, "please... let me go." Flavor? Nonexistent. Absent. Missing in action. Flavor filed a restraining order against these wings. Tasteless? Bro... these wings tasted like a broken promise. Like someone shouted "SEASONING!" across the room and nobody heard. And the price??? They charged me like these wings were raised on a private ranch, massaged daily, and read bedtime stories in three languages. But what I got tasted like they were cooked by someone who was actively beefing with chickens. I didn't just eat bad wings... I survived a culinary tragedy. A dramatic novela-level betrayal. I'm still waiting for the background music to kick in and someone to scream, "¡NOOOO, MARIO, NOOOOOO!" If these wings were a movie, they'd be rated F for "FAILURE." El Centro, be warned: Not all heroes wear capes... and not all wings deserve to exist. I understand this place never cared about customer service, but not serving horrible food like this . It's like they were old Wings from yesterday and got thrown into the fryer again today. Hey man, I work hard for my money and when we can we eat somewhere in town, but this was totally out of control as far as laziness and disregard for serving even a decent product

I intended to travel the entire 2,600-mile length of the Pacific Crest Trail, but my adventure unceremoniously ended in El Centro under a tree about 60 miles east of my starting point. The paramedics told me that hiking is not for everyone. After a desperate two weeks of hiking with little food and water through BLM land tracks, old service roads, and desert washes, as best I can recall, I finally set up camp in El Centro under a farmer's tree near his washing line. Soon after the farmer called the police about my campfire, the authorities and my ex-wife found me in a state of delerium hosting a tea party under a large avocado tree wearing the farmer's wife's plus size nightgown while serving "cups of chai tea" to a sizable pile of rotten avocados and a rusty shovel that I thought was "Jan" from those Toyota commercials. My first real meal after being found by the authorities and my ex-wife was at D'Poly Taco Grill and Beer. D'Poly was the perfect welcome back to civilization as it has a spectacular menu full of delicious Mexican cuisine like street tacos, flautas, sopes and empanadas. The Lineman burrito is my absolute favorite. And they have a wonderful breakfast menu! It's fast casual dining, but it has a sort of classic and moody vibe that gives off a more upscale feel. Love it! A wonderful place to break free of your delusions. My ex-wife tried to tell me that hiking is not for everyone. Thankfully, the paramedics found my emergency contact list and phoned my ex-wife who showed up and broke me out of my stupor by making me drop my emotional support avocado, taking me by the shoulders and shaking me vigorously while yelling "it's over, it's over!" Ironically, that was the same way she told me we were getting divorced. I'm not a quitter, so it takes a while for me to give up. I've since tried many items on the D'Poly menu and everything is exceptional, though I do avoid adding avocado. It's just too soon. Thank you D'Poly Taco Grill and Beer! Five stars.

But took us one hour to check us out. Management didn't help the server until my sister had to go complain. Twice. We had all different kind of meals, the pasta seemed like it was microwaveable. We had a small calamari fritta, and the chicken cacciatore (inspired by Billy Joel's song Movin' Out) with an add on unlimited Caesar salad, requested dressing on the side. Calamari was good, crispy and hot. The Caesar salad dressing was excellent, just the right amount of lemon tang for a Caesar dressing, but the salad itself was mediocre. The lettuce was on the verge of wilted. I am not sure if we could have asked for more (unlimited?) but we didn't want anymore anyway. This is the first time have ever tried cacciatore so have no reference, but the dish seemed good. Assume the chicken is supposed to be cooked to the point of crispy? versus less cooked more juicy? Our server had to also function as hostess and must have had a lot of tables assigned to her, so service at times was a little slow but not bad. Probably would return, prices were decent. Could have ordered a take home lasagna for just an additional $5., but didn't want it. ...at Mister Cacciatore's down on Sullivan Street, across from the medical center!

Their prices were higher tonight because it was sort of a fund-raiser, but usually a draft beer is $2 and a mixed drink maybe $5. They were selling burgers and dogs etc also, but after my 3 beers I opted for a bowl of the Louisiana Gumbo which hit the spot at $3 a bowl. My friend commented the place needed a face lift but I loved it just the way it is, all kinds of military posters, uniforms and memorabilia on the walls, murals painted in the hallways, etc. If my memory card hadn't gotten full before we got there I would have gotten some interesting pictures. I enjoyed listening to all the conversations around me. The place definitely had a friendly atmosphere and I would love to find a spot near me in San Diego I could feel this comfortable in. The bathroom was very old but clean, well supplied, and functioning properly
