I love whole fried fish and they have it and its done well. I've been there twice- the first time service was good. The second time was was slow only one server and it was lunch time. Do not judge a book by its cover! Very simple on the inside but inviting. Amazing food, everything tasted delicious. The service was perfect Aida, was so friendly and patient. She explained the menu so that we would know what we were ordering. I ordered the aguachile verde, the shrimp was fresh the salsa verde was perfectly spicy. You come here for the delicious seafood, certainly not the atmosphere. It's just a quaint little Mexican joint but the service is great and we found the food very tasty! I ordered 2 fried fish tacos which were very good but the Star of the Show was the shrimp ceviche tostada. It was served quite differently than a typical tostada. The shrimp ceviche was served on a plate with a stack of smashed avocado on top in a cylindrical shape with the tostada shell leaning on the side. So we broke the shell into large pieces and ate the ceviche as kind of a dip. It also comes with a basket of chips as the shell was eaten almost immediately. Aguachile Negro, Vuelve a la Vida, and oysters were delicious! Oysters came with a slice of lime for each piece and tasted very fresh. It didn't need any additional condiments for it and fyi it does not come with any sauce. I would get all three of these dishes again. We also got a carne asada fries which was okay, but you don't exactly come here for that - you come mainly for the seafood. They served us complimentary fish and vegetables soup which was so nice! It went really well with a squeeze of lemon juice from the lemon slices they provided. They have a bilingual server for those that are passing by this area and don't know Spanish. Driving from Phoenix to San Diego and around El Centro the family decided it was time to eat. There didn't really seem like there was much in El Centro so of course I looked to my Yelp app for guidance. We figured we were so close to the boarder , there's should be a good Mexican Seafood place , and lo and behold... ta da Puerto Nuevo Patio and Grill Popped up with one review , which happened to be. 5 star . I trust my other Yelpers and while this place seemed a bit divey we were greeted warmly and pleasantly surprised by the seafood offerings in the menu . We ordered the oysters ( they didn't have my beloved cocktail sauce ) which came with limes , I ate them anyhow and they were delicious . We also ordered the Fried Red Snapper which was out of this world ! Crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked on the inside . It was served with a generous portion side salad and rice . We also ordered the the Vuelve la Vida dish which was a mix of scallops , snails , fish , clams, calamari , octopus, fish , shrimp with cucumber, red onions and limes . This dish was served with crisp tortillas which paired perfectly with it ! It made my little seafood loving heart happy ! On Sunday February 16th, my friend and I went to puerto Nuevo for lunch. Upon arrival, we were given a menu which were noticeably new. So we asked if they were. Which the server confirmed that the menus were new. So we decided on a barbacoa plate and a carne arracherra grilled plate. When we got our food the meat was cut into 5 pieces. It also looked weird and it tasted as if it was dipped in oil. And it also smelled weird. We didn't eat it and decided to share the barbacoa plate instead which also wasn't very good. When we got our bill, we noticed that it said diesmillo instead of arrecherra!! When asked our server she stated that they haven't had the arrechera for a long time. So she said when she puts in the order she puts the meat they are going to use. So upon leaving we saw the menu, which specifically said arrechera NOT DIESMILLO!! So I told the server you just told me these menus were new but yet you haven't had arrechera for a long time. Why offer something you don't have. If i would have known it was diesmillo I would not have ordered it. Needless to say food was horrible service was horrible and my friend and I were sick all night with just that little bit of food we ate. While I was having this conversation with the server owner kept passing by without acknowledging there was a problem. read more

Devious!!! I came here with my family and we had a wonderful experience. We all got delicious fresh sea food. The Michelada was refreshing, cold beer, and not too much Clamato so none of the flavors were too overpowering. The shrimp cocktail was amazing!!! There was plenty of shrimp, and they put lots of avocado if you're an avocado lover like me. They have great traditional Mexican music, and workers speak both English and Spanish meaning there is no language barrier which is super helpful!
