The cocktails are very fun, and they even have a few beers here if that's your thing. The servers speak fluent English, and it is popular with foreigners, but it's not a tourist trap by any means.

So the little red door has a cute red door but the bouncer lets you in through another door (novelty observed haha). The man takes your jacket and umbrella (what a gentleman!) and sat us on the second floor. While the space between the couch and the seats were rather small, we were able to manage. I got the permaculture and resilience. The resilience is a club favorite and my favorite too! The way the sorghum, pineapple sage (syrup), pasquet cognac, and savanna rum all tied together was a blessing. I was going to get a third but I was tipsy by my second drink. My first drink was the permaculture and while I was considered it would be strong, it didn't seem strong to me. I love clarified dairy in alcohol so this was a win in my book. It consists of chestnut, butter, wakaze umeshu, avallen Calvados. The bar let's you stay for an hour but if you sit elsewhere, you can stay as long as you want. 5 stars and I hope to come back someday!

We arrived in Paris after almost a full day of travel and decided to go out for a drink after a…read morelazy hotel dinner. I found Danico Bar on one of those World's 50 Best Bars lists, and as it was walk-in only and like half a mile from our hotel, we decided to stroll over and try our luck. It was around 10:30 on a Wednesday night, and there were only a few people waiting ahead of us. Every guest we saw was an obvious tourist like us--many with shopping bags and actual luggage--who'd probably found Danico on the same World's 50 Best list. We got in after a short, comfortable wait, maybe ten minutes, all of them spent sitting down. The bar was dark and glamorous, a speakeasy-style spot in the back of an Italian restaurant. We got a table, which was great. The space was loud and busy, but we had our little perch. Table service was polite and efficient. We hung out until midnight and got in a couple of rounds. There was a thick book of a menu, with thirty cocktails celebrating Danico's tenth anniversary--three definitive drinks from each year. More than half of these were, unfortunately, sold out (it looked like a lot of them were pre-made in finite batches). We did well with what was left, though, including a few signatures available in unlimited quantities. All four of our cocktails were delicious. The Mirror Selfie was the lightest of the bunch, a fizzy highball with Citadelle gin, sweet vermouth, grapefruit, sakura tea, and bergamot perfume. The Sakura was a stronger drink, also with Citadelle gin and sakura, a Negroni variation rounded out with sweet vermouth, Campari, and umeshu. The Sado Miso was an Asian dessert of a cocktail, nutty and creamy but not sweet, made with Pierre Ferrand 1840 cognac rye whiskey, brown butter miso, anko, black sesame, egg, and rice and tofu milk. Then there was the Krakatoa, a wild milk punch with peanut butter distillate, Planteray 3 Stars rum, palm sugar, mango, pineapple, cucumber, sweet potato, lime, and soy milk. I was curious what it would taste like and didn't even know while I was drinking it, but it was fantastic. We had a a lovely time at Danico. The drinks were creative and the vibe was fun, while still easy enough for two elder millennials to enjoy with travel exhaustion. I'd recommend this place if you want interesting cocktails and don't mind drinking among (other) tourists.

Got a spot at the bar around midnight on a Saturday. Neighborhood was empty but this place was…read morepacked. Amazing drinks!! Terminal 2F, Paris Brest, and one more I'm not remembering. Then again, they change their menu every 6 months. Come with someone French so they can explain the Paris stereotypes/inside jokes each drink is named for!

Then when you check in, they'll walk you to your seat, where you're immediately transported to a Parisian movie from the twenties. It's a wood paneled intimate bar with limited seating, and it's easy to pretend that Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald are among the customers there too. Did I mention their menu is like an old school newspaper and that my drink came with a beautiful white rose? Talk about jazz age perfection!

The bar exudes an old world charm with oak paneled walls adorned with vintage Hemingway photos and memorabilia. They had an impressive lineup of signature cocktails, but in a rare flash of memory from English Lit 101, I felt compelled to channel Hemingway's Jake Barnes in The Sun Also Rises, and chose Champagne instead. As expected the service was flawless. Immediately upon being seated, a young lady brought us olives and mix nuts in a divided dish. The waiter soon followed to take our initial order. Pro tip- They open at 5 pm so get there 10-15 minutes before to stand in line. We got there at 4:45 and there were several people ahead of us. It's a small intimate bar that only seats about 20 something people and it filled up within minutes after we were seated. We saw multiple people getting turned away and when we left, there was a long line at the door. Cheers!!
