Luckily it was also delicious! They had all the Sicilian classics like pasta con le sarde and caponata. These were excellent but the real star of the show was the huge whole fish that tasted like it had been caught that morning. They grilled it simply with tomatoes and potatoes but the ingredients were so fresh and flavorful that it tasted like heaven. This restaurant also introduced us to the excellent local white wine called Grillo. we ended up drinking it everywhere throughout the rest of our trip. Antiche Scale is located on the Main Street of a quiet little coastal town in Sicily called Castellammare del Golfo. Like many restaurants in Italy they don't open for dinner until quite late, in this case 7:30 pm. They have a decent sized seating area outside and a cute indoor dining room.
