The St George & Dragon - Gammon, egg and chips - well worth a try, goes down very well, especially with a nice cold pint!

It has a really nicely refurbished interior, and the menu is very gastropub-y, with some complex dishes mixed with traditional favorites. The Peroni beer fish and chips was really super, with a great zing and bite to the batter. The classic burger was...a burger. One of our party truly savored the baked cod with mash and cream and shrimp sauce, while the kids downed cheese pizzas without much delay or conversation. The desserts were functional rather than spectacular or diverting, but tasty all the same: ice cream sundaes for the normal and sticky toffee pudding for the sweet-toothed. The service was good but had one flaw; nut allergies were noted but ignored when biscotti with almonds arrived with our coffees. Disaster averted, we thoroughly enjoyed the meal, and the staff were very accommodating otherwise. We'd definitely return. It's a lovely spot for a bite to eat or pint to sup.

We ordered the beef roast and pizza for the children. The meal was depressingly bad, with not one good element. The beef was stringy and tasteless, the yorkshire puddings solid, and potatoes were soggy. The pizzas were heavy on cheese and light on everything else. Everything was lukewarm. Although in general the service was friendly and accommodating, the coffee arrived ten minutes after the bill. Pleasant venue and surroundings but not to be recommended if you like good food.

The menu offers a great selection of fresh English seafood and meat (including game) and is seasonal. We were lucky enough to have Greengage Tart. Looking forward to the rhubarb season. I had Welsh Rarebit to start (sublime) followed by Scottish Haddock. My husband had Rabbit Lasagne followed by venison. The Chef, Dominic Chapman won a Michelin Star, 3 AA Rosettes as head chef at the Head Chef at The Royal Oak, Paley Street - so its wonderful that I can enjoy such wonderful food locally. We will definitely be returning. Staff were friendly and attentive, can't say enough about the food (the Chef, and on a rainy evening it was fun to watch the junior cricket team play! The

Very nice up-market pub - as evidenced by not one but 2 Bentleys in the parking lot. Service was great and the food that was served was good and hot. All in all a very enjoying respite from the long drive. It is just over the road from the local cricket ground - so if they are playing beware of flying cricket balls!!!!

Especially in town like Henley, the outdoors is particularly a nice place to eat. Strada had two options that met out desires, a totally outdoor seating area and also a strip of two person tables against a completely open wall that is similar to eating half inside-half out. We decided on the latter and loved the seating arrangement. The servers here are on point and always ready to tend to needs and inquiries. We wanted some garlic bread to start and they brought out this delicious crust type of garlic bread bake. It was baked with olive oil and was a spectacular take at a bread starter! See pics for a visual. For my main course I got the Ragu Spaghetti which has some meat chunks in it with thick spaghetti noodles. The sauce has accents of wine and tomato and tasted like a classic ragu Italian sauce! My girl got the Rustica pizza which is basically cheese and sausage. That was also quite good, the sausages were very fresh. It oddly wasn't cut and that was left to her doing with the basic knife they supplied. The dishes were around 10 pounds each so that's also quite reasonable. There are some solid Italian options in Henley, but being that this Strada is also attached to the Regal movie theater, this one is great for a dine-dinner date! Get fed.

I have had bolognese here which is okay, but I had a lovely salmon lentil salad dish here a few weeks ago which was quite delicious. In general the pizza is quite dry and not up to Pizza Express standard. In general the service is good and brisk and we don't have any complaints. This is just another in the Pantheon of mediocre restaurants in the centre of Henley.

However, a little 'surprise' was the £5 per head service charge which felt sneaked onto our bill - this really should have been noted somewhere clearly so that I didn't wonder what vintage wine I had ordered that cost more per glass than several bottles can in my local supermarket! We watched 'It Runs in the Family' and it was absolutely brilliant - we decided it was the best production we have seen here. How the actors kept it together and didn't collapse laughing is a true sign of their professionalism - I don't think I can recall another play that has made my husband laugh so much. It is such a funny and mood lifting farse - I really do recommend seeing it it to help get through the cold weather we are still enduring.

We sat out the back by the river as the sun set and had a few drinks before dinner was served. The dinner is run buffet style, although without the option of getting seconds. While it wasn't the best food I've ever tasted, it was well cooked and quite delicious. It also came with desert. The shows are all professional quality, and have a very fun and immersive feel. Its a great evening out for the whole family, even if many of the patrons are retirees.
