Artist is a gentleman named Jeremy booth per the tag. I am not familiar with his work but this as very colorful and vibrant piece of public art in a neighborhood with all kinds of cool public art. With garage bars grass/nature seating outside this makes a perfect backdrop for beautiful and fun picture opportunities. Overall this is a very cool addition to the local public art scene in the Louisville area. Backstory on rabbit hole is they are a distillery that specializes in what all other Kentucky distilleries do. bourbon! Kudos to the distillery for hiring an artist with a good vision.

Very good tribute to the late singer and the artist appropriately uses the iconic purple to honor the legendary performer. The artist has several pieces throughout the city of Louisville that o have been discovering. Most of them are usually of famous people like this one. Overall very cool and fun mural. Will be a must visit for any fan of Prince. Great addition to the work I've seen of Damon Thompson and also a great addition to the rapidly growing Shelby park neighborhood public art scene.

I made my own free outdoor art gallery. This is located in the Shelby Park neighborhood, across the street from Louisville sculptor Ed Hamilton's studio and is based off of the music legend's Purple Rain album cover. The mural is the creation of local artist Damon Thompson who has really beautified Louisville with many of his paintings. He has over 40 since March 2020. He highlights the singer's trademark and favorite color with a dove, a nod to Prince's hit song, "When Dove's Cry". The mural is right under a "We gon be Alright" sign, an adopted slogan of the BLM movement. There is lots of free street parking available to for you to get out and check out the mural. However, it is not a very long stop and you probably could accomplish what you want to in the comfort of your vehicle. Definitely a must see of Louisville public art, whether or not you are a fan of the Purple One, His Royal Badness, or the High Priest of Pop. So, as I have mentioned, it is best to plan out stops at many of the other wonderful murals that are within a mile or two and make a day of it.

Stopped by the Shelbyville Fountain while walking around downtown and it ended up being a really…read morenice little highlight. It's not anything huge, but it adds a lot of charm to the area and gives the square a relaxed, welcoming feel. The sound of the water makes it a good spot to slow down for a few minutes, especially on a nice day. The surrounding area is clean and well kept, and it's a solid place to sit, take a quick break, or snap a few pictures. It's definitely more of a "while you're there" kind of stop rather than a destination on its own, but it does exactly what it's supposed to do adds character to downtown Shelbyville. Only reason it's not a full five stars is there's not much else going on right at the fountain itself, but overall it's a pleasant, easy stop that makes the area feel more complete.

I am always on the look put for unique and interesting street art and this is no exception. The…read morepainting is of Louisville's four favorite sons, Muhammad Ali, Abraham Lincoln, Colonel Sanders, and racing horse and triple crown winner, Secretariat. It is located in the highland area of Louisville. The Mural was supposed to be a giant mountain sculpture, similar to Mount Rushmore. However, funding could not even come close to that very ambitious goal, so they had to settle for the mural. The mural was created by Margaret Morely in 2013 and is on the side of the original WHY Louisville store, which is now Sweet Spot Candy Shop. The mural is tucked in between the candy shop and the Doo Wop Shop, a musical instrument store. It is in a little ally way that leads to the Doo Wop Shop's parking area. Sadly, the Muhammad Ali image has been the target of vandals on a few occasions, with orange paint. There is always someone that wants to be a jerk and ruin things. There is lots of street parking available to for you to get out and check out the mural. It is hard to get a good look from your car becuse the street that it is on is so busy and it is located in a small alleyway. It is not a long stop unless you plan on visiting one of the shops while you are there.

The mural is Part of a massive public art project spanning all through downtown Lousiville called "alley gallery" where different artist paint different murals on side and read doors of businesses and garages throughout the city of Louisville. This particular mural uses a Bunch of bright colors and is pieces together on a very vibrant way. Good job by the artist overall. As always it's fun to discover all the alley gallery pieces spread throughout the downtown Lousiville area. Always interesting to see so many artists and there work.
