On top of that, they even delivered my sewing machine to a friend for me. Their teamwork, strength, and problem-solving were incredible to watch. The price was very fair, and the service went above and beyond anything I expected. I'm so grateful I found this crew and was happy to have them back again. The challenge was figuring out whether they could maneuver it through a narrow gate on its side or if they would have to cut it up and haul it out in pieces. They carefully measured everything, came up with a plan, and successfully got the entire hot tub through the gate without cutting it apart. They also helped move several large potted plants that were in the way, which was greatly appreciated. Their professionalism, problem-solving skills, and positive attitudes made the whole process easy and stress-free. Glendale Recycling Center is efficiently run and the service is great. The staff helps move the lines along and everyone is very nice and hardworking. And if I read the prices correctly, GRC pays a few cents more for plastics + cans than those SuperA grocery store guys in a delivery truck. I know this because I left the SuperA guy in Cypress Park when he decided to take his lunch 15 mins. early and close up shop. Glad I looked to YELP and found this place in a snap without wasting time. Also, this place is almost like an all-in-one recycling center where you can not only get CRV money, but also drop off old electronics, all those Amazon cardboard boxes, and some other things that you can't throw into your regular trash bin. (Some items they don't accept, but they'll direct you to where you can take them.) Since this was a pleasant & relatively painless experience, I just might make a daily habit out our Earth Day practice and return every now and then.

It's not immediately clear where to go and what to do but they have plenty of staff to direct you. They asked me to empty my different types of bottles (clear glass, colorful glass, plastic) into three large cylindrical barrels before they weighed them. I can see what other reviewers are saying about how they don't fully put the container on the scale to ascertain the full weight of the bottles. They hand you a receipt after weighing and you take it to the window to cash out. They ask you to sign the receipt before giving you the money. All in all, it's an easy process and I'm not sure it's worth the trouble because I don't have that much to recycle at a time but it might make sense for the people sorting pickup trucks' worth of recycling. Pro tip: Sort your recycling in advance so when you get to the recycle center, you just have to dump it into one of the barrels and not sort it on site.

I needed my old bedroom furniture hauled away and trashed before my new ones were delivered so I gave LA Junks a call. I saw their truck on the street and decided to call and get a price. They asked me what they'd be hauling away and gave me a price on the phone. They were the cheapest of the 2 other companies I called so I decided to go with them. We scheduled for a Saturday at 9am and they were there about 10 minutes before 9am. They were very clean and professional on how they removed everything from the house making sure not to scratch or ding any of my walls or floors during the removal process. They even swept up the room which they emptied and were on their way. I paid them via PayPal which was super quick and easy. I'll definitely use them again in the future and would recommend to anyone. read more
