I had to wait a couple weeks to finish piling everything together and finally sent him an update, would he also immediately got back to me. The estimate went up a little bit, but I had also mentioned that I added a decent amount of extra compared to when I first contacted him. They showed up a little later on the day of the job, but had messaged me beforehand to let me know they were still wrapping up a previous job that morning. I requested quotes via Yelp for the demolition and haul away of a wooden patio cover that had deteriorated over many years. Shawn's Hauling was one that responded, and from the very beginning Shawn presented himself as being reliable and trustworthy; he also seemed to be easy to work with. I had three quotes of the same price, but it was the above factors, along with his excellent Yelp rating, that caused me to go with him. This morning, he completed that work. He and his assistant texted me ten minutes ahead of their arrival, showed up on time, got to work promptly, worked very efficiently, put everything back in its place, and cleaned up after themselves. The anchoring of the patio cover was more challenging than expected, requiring more work than planned, yet he and his assistant did the extra work without complaint. When it came time to pay, Shawn insisted that I first inspect the work to ensure I was satisfied; then, he honored his quote without any issue, even though I know the project took longer than he expected. My wife even noted how his work truck is clean and seemingly well maintained, and I noticed that the debris, rather than being tossed into the truck, was in fact neatly stacked. I finally had a good window of time this week to get rid of some appliances that died some time ago. I live up a flight of stairs, so removing my ancient washer, dryer, and refrigerator, was not an easy feat. Finding the right people to do the job was not difficult, though. The time set up for pick-up was 10am, and Shawn called me at 9:45am to inform me he was caught in traffic and would arrive about 10 min late. Who else does that?
