We started with samosa which had a very unique flavour, that set the course for what to expect from the experience. Our favourite was their version of Dosa and the vegan rose kulfi. Least favourite was dahi puri. Everything else tasted... (is sophisticated a word that can be used to describe flavour? Then that would be it) Overall we loved it! I should have expected that the salad wouldn't be "nutritiously-filling", since it was mostly iceberg lettuce, onions, apples, and halloumi cheese blocks. I tried the sambusik but will not order again, the filling of meat and onions was excellent but pasty outside was too thick. Lots of vegetarian dishes, all very tasty. The Dolce Neve dessert is similar to panna cotta from Piedmont but the rose water and pistachios gave it a different twist. I still prefer panna cotta. How comes?…read more This is one of the "secret" places of the Milanese "Aperitivo" (happy hour), the pre-dinner drink which comes with a buffet dinner of its own :-) The offering of Il Tempio d'Oro during their happy hour is quite good and extensive, can happily substitute dinner, and the drinks and beers are all good and not terribly expensive. Outside buffet hours, the menu is still very good, but not that cheap. The place is very informal/"alternative" style, and can accomodate groups, maybe not extremely large ones. Pets are welcome :-)

If you aren't sure what that is - it's like happy hour, except you get food along with your drink purchase. Prices were reasonable - I had the largest Hoegaarden I've ever seen and it was only 6 euros. They set up a pretty sizeable buffet, which you are free to enjoy as many times as you'd like. We didn't want to have the kitchen open back up for us if they were already wrapping up. They assured us the kitchen wouldn't be closed for another 15 minutes so to come on in. We ordered the pizza, and the pizza guy had a meltdown. Apparently he had already started cleaning up for the night. We felt bad but also a little off putting that he would make such a scene in front of all the guests. Other than that we had a wonderful meal.
