Anyway, on my recent trip to Mexico, I came here three times and the reason is: the coffee here is just phenomenal. Even though they have introduced Starbucks into Uruapan, this place just destroys it terms quality and smoothness. Starbucks can't even hold a candle to this place. On different occasions, I ordered the house Frappuccino and good lord in heaven... it's like I never had a blended coffee drink. It... was... AMAZING! The coffee was beyond smooth and was not overly sweet unlike Starbucks blended drinks which have way too much sugar. I also had the pay de queso con zarzamora (raspberry cheesecake) and good god, it was incredible. It was one of the best cheesecakes I have ever had tasted so homemade! I will end this by saying that if you're ever in Michoacán and want the best local, artisanal coffee, you MUST come to La Lucha. They have expanded to several locations, but nothing outside of Michoacán. Take a small bag or two home and you will experience the difference. Plus that smell of coffee will drive your olfactory receptors nuts and make you crave it even more! The best coffee in Mexico... period! My absolute highest recommendation!

The only negative is that they do not really serve real brewed coffee like we think of it. It's something else which Mrs. Yelper knows but I don't. It was okay, but quite good compared to all the other instant coffee I had in Mexico. All my Mexican family loved the croissants. They had Mexican hot chocolate, which I'm told is pretty good.

Only Starbucks in the City of Uruapan…read more Located in the "Agora Mall Area"... this Starbucks location is comfy...lots of tables, chairs & other cute furniture. This location has 3 sections...an outside area towards the mall, a middle indoor area & another outside area facing a couple of more stores & also the parking lot. Baristas are nice & they have a lot of different desserts we don't usually have in the U.S, so take advantage & try one of those :) Their WiFi is a little slow, but hey! Let's get off our phones & enjoy our coffee with a nice view I'm this beautiful city.
