The teachers are great and they have very fun activities for the kids - especially for holidays like Halloween and Valentine's day. My son was reluctant to leave when it was time to start TK. One other thing I appreciated was that there was a lot of care and consideration for both kids and parents from the director - there was clear communication on expectations, upcoming events and changes so that things didn't come as a surprise. I would highly recommend!

When we go on vacation she always says how she misses school, her teachers, and friends, and is genuinely excited to go back, which is so reassuring as a parent. We originally chose Grow Smart after touring many places because the facility feels very secure and private. They have an amazing outdoor play area but it's completely private and cannot be seen from the street at all, which I love. All of the teachers and staff have been great and they really go above and beyond with things like their summer program with themed weeks, water days and special guests, a preschool graduation that was better than many kindergarten graduations I've been to, and my daughters favorite, Pizza Fridays! We can't say thank you enough to Grow Smart for their loving care of our daughter for the past 2 years.

I reached to to Silverman based on the recommendation of a friend. We immediately were scheduled for a tour, however upon arrival to the school, there were no staff around to welcome us. Eventually my husband found someone who does maintenance for the school and he gave us a brief tour. No one really answered our questions or directed us from there, and ultimately we found another school that was a bit more engaged on the front end, which made us feel more comfortable. I also am a bit concerned about the intense negativity on this page and attacking of former parents. Does not seem like a healthy environment for any of our children.

But, the long-time preschool director left in 2021. Ever since, the school has gone downhill in quality, compassion, and communication. Year after year we kept hoping it would improve and the administration assured us improvements were forthcoming, so we stayed. They never materialized. We also stayed because the teachers are really wonderful. But, they're working against an administration that does not care about them. The failings of the school fall squarely on the shoulders of the administration that constantly demands the teachers take shortcuts. I highly recommend any potential new parent consult the California Department of Social Service's website about this school (and any school) before enrolling. Silverman has had many complaints lodged against them by numerous individuals in the last 2-3 years. Many of the complaints have been substantiated, including a Type A violation on November 27, 2023 where they put babies in immediate danger (Complaint No: 51-CC-20231117141330.) The school administration did not inform enrolled parents (including us) that they received this violation despite direct instructions from the licensing department to do so. I only learned about this violation and the website to find complaints a few days ago. The website is: https://www.ccld.dss.ca.gov/carefacilitysearch/. (It might be easier to google CCLD Transparency). The facility numbers for Silverman are: Infant center: 376701134; Preschool: 372001648 Additionally, I agree with another reviewer - besides poor management, the operating hours are very limited, the school does not provide food, there are many days the school is closed throughout the year (including a 2-week winter break, spring break, and summer break in addition to Jewish holidays and Federal holidays), they do not consistently provide pictures or updates throughout the day, the administration does not clearly communicate with parents or staff, and the facilities require maintenance. Recently, a tree crashed through the window of the infant classroom. Thankfully, no children or teachers were harmed. Overall, you may pay a little bit more for another school, but you will have increased services, proper administrative oversight, transparency, and peace of mind.

This center has been through some changes, that's for sure! Covid as well as a few new directors with very different leadership styles. Since our time with the center and with the most recent change in leaders, my rating goes from a weak 4 to a strong 5. It has always been a solid, trustworthy center, but now they are the best. One of our children has graduated (*sniff*) and moved on to kindergarten, but he still returns for visits. He had fantastic teachers along the way, but his Pre-K teacher, Ms. Lola, has left such a mark. She set him up on his journey into kindergarten with a very solid grasp of reading and math. She also instilled a love for Spanish and thirst for learning and asking questions. My youngest now has her as his teacher and his letters and writing have come so far. He was not always interested in coloring or writing at home, but now he has no problems with it. She also does not put up with any of their nonsense. :) My youngest also needed a bit of help with potty training and cleaning up his toys when he was younger and they were so kind and encouraging. The director brought in a special toilet lid for him and Ms. Lauren would call or inform me when there were problems. Ms. Lauren provided a lot of insight and held him up to high standards which he needs. Ms. Daphne and Ms. Katrina are both leaders and teachers. They really do everything they can to make our children happy and develop true friendships as well as a second family her at Kindercare San Carlos. But one word of warning, this place is 3 Michelin star establishment as far as their meals go according to all the kids. My children have made many outside friends here at Kindercare and they all have the same opinion. Whenever these kids eat a dish, we hear "not as good as Kindercare"! Their menu is quite wholesome and their guidelines for from home food is healthy too. Special props to you, Ms. Jeannie. My cooking will never compare no matter how hard I try. ;)

Dulce, Alexis' mom, is now an abuela to our little girl, who is talking up a storm thanks to all the stimulation she gets at school. Even better, the other families who send their kids to the school are just lovely - my child has so many favorite friends. One perk is that you can follow along on your child's day on Instagram, which is such a comfort when you are at work, missing your baby. Alexis is always quick to notify you if your child gets a boo-boo, isn't feeling well, or has some issue going on. I cannot say enough about this wonderful place. Look no further for a wonderful home away from home for your child!

This school is exactly that - they put so much effort into giving the kids freedom to figure out who they are and explore their interests, all while teaching them how to be good friends and kind little humans. This is not a traditionally structured preschool - you won't find worksheets or desks, but you will find a Reggio style environment that intentionally allows the kids to lead. I think that teachers make so much of the difference in a child's experience so I feel pretty fortunate that my sons have had Mrs. Dominic (4 year old room) and Mrs. Conway (3 year old room) during their time at FHPP. Both ladies are sweet and loving and seem to genuinely love teaching the littles. Mrs. Dominic has pulled me aside to show me pictures she took during class of my son playing nicely with other children (I previously expressed concerns about his social skills) and she even mentioned one other child in particular with a disposition similar to my son. I have since arranged wonderful private play dates with the other child and his mother! Mrs. Conway always welcomes my youngest with a big warm greeting and although he somewhat reluctantly enters class at each drop off, he enthusiastically reports back to me that Mrs. Conway is his "best friend"! And the office is managed by the nicest ladies around. Robin (director) and Melissa (assistant director) always greet me like a member of the family... sometimes (okay, often) I'm late, they are warm; many days I'm disheveled, they are welcoming; and on more than a few occasions I've needed a few minutes of adult interaction, they are willing to take 5 minutes to ask how I am. They take a true interest in my kids and my family. I feel fortunate to have found FHPP!
