One thing that we have always struggled with in Manor, is the lack of a grocery store. Food Mart…read moredoes a pretty good job of filling the gap for necessity items. The staff is courteous and they carry the staples from hygiene items and pet food to baking goods and dry groceries. They even have a limited selection of dairy and vegetables. If you need to rent a movie and don't want to drive into town, the have a nice video rental kiosk (non-redbox) that carries new releases on DVD and BluRay. All in all it serves a need and does it very conveniently.

I was told to get there early because the pineapple's go fast. Score...I found a stack of pineapples to choose from and more! Pork skins is what you normally find in a San Antonio super market. However, the pork skins in JD's Super Market are massive. Never seen such large pork skins in my life. Also, I found some Mexican drinks like Agua Fresca (refreshing drink made with fresh fruits blended or squeezed into water, often sweetened with sugar) and horchata (creamy drink made from rice, cinnamon, and vanilla, popular in Mexico). There were a variety of sweet treats on the shelf as well as grab and go that you do not typically see in other super markets. I imagine if you looking for exotic spices or unusual goods, this is the market for you.

But then I turned the corner... there was another 4 glass cases full of more craft brews here too... and a rack of big boys too!! I was stunned!! Then I really started looking... there must have been 150+ different brews here! As I spun around I noticed a wine selection that would rival most grocery stores as well! Forget the fried chicken stand or the cowboy hats and belts... forget writing about the funny candy deal I found... this location just got put on my map! I'm serious as a heart attack... no freaking joke! Great guy, great selection, I'm going to be a regular here for sure!
