Family dinner tonight at Casa Garcia's - service was good, food was good! A little different Mexican food than I'm used to because I think it's more tex mex but I really liked it! We had some queso with hamburger and guacamole for the table. I was fairly certain I didn't want to try it but I did and I actually thought it was delicious. The red and green salsas were both very good. I got the camerones al mojo de ajo. Very good - beans even better. The shrimp were claimed to be in a light garlic sauce - I'd say rather it was an incredibly strong garlic sauce - but I love garlic and I'm here for it. But to be sure, I think I will smell garlic for a least the next day (if not more). Got the Mexican martini at the happy hour price. Great price! Very confused at the drink - sweet with olives. Not bad - just don't know quite all what it was, but to be sure I did drink it. Very solid place - would go back again for sure! read more

If you're not familiar with authentic Mexican cuisine, you might enjoy this place. While the customer service was solid and the staff were very friendly, the food itself tasted reheated and lacked freshness. Additionally, there was an overwhelming amount of flies throughout our visit, which unfortunately made it difficult to enjoy the meal and really killed my appetite. It's a convenient location within town, but unfortunately the quality didn't meet expectations and I wouldn't return. This restaurant should market itself as Tex-Mex, because it does not reflect traditional Mexican cuisine. read more

The food is fantastic. As someone who doesn't LOVE Mexican food, this place I would go again!!! I would as trying to be healthy while trying something new. I had a shrimp salad and carne guisada. Soo soo good!!! I liked the crispy chips but the salsa was a no for me. The service could use a little work. The helper spilled my mom's soup and it went on all the other plates, even my salad. Yikes! He tried to wipe it up but he needs to learn to be careful or not rush. Our waitress was just ok. We had to keep asking her for things instead of her coming to refill our water or chips. Sometimes we had to ask two different people. It was pretty busy and they have nice decorations. We were seated quickly but I do recommend getting here before the dinner rush. read more

Quick lunch run at the local Casa G's! Just in time for the lunch specials. I had a refreshing Skinny Marg made with Lalo Tequila and the Beef Fajita Tacos plate. The fajitas were still sizzling in the fresh tortillas! ***Pro-Tip, ask for some more tortillas! There is enough meat for at least 2 additional tacos*++ and if you've never had homemade corn tortillas, this is the place to explore. They are not the average thin cardboard tortillas you find in the bread isle. Camila, served up some great stiff drinks with a friendly smile and was very attentive! We been here a few times but our most recent time here the service was great. Our waitress was great and she was very attentive. Service is fast on a Saturday. We didn't have to wait and were able to get a table during dinner rush. Horchata: 3/5 it needed more flavor for depth of flavor you long for in a horchata. It's on the sweeter side. Dos a Margarita: 4/5 wish it was a bit more frozen, it was more of a slushie and watery . Not fully frozen. Chimichanga: 1/5 it was loaded with rice in it and there was hardly any beef fajita in it :( ... for rhe added cost of beef fajita.. I was better off getting the beef fajita sizzling plate for about the same price of that chimichanga. It was crispy and cheesy. Sauce went well with the chimichanga. Not only is there tons of rice in the chimichanga but they give you a side of loaded rice too. * green enchiladas 3/5 was ok . Beans were good. Rice was seasoned. * salsa and queso: 5/5 chips were fresh and the queso was cheesy. We got the large size. Do I recommend this place? Yes Overall this place is a decent good place to eat at without having to drive into San Antonio. It's more texmex than authentic Mexican food. I've been looking for a closer TexMex spot for a long time & saw this place, thought I'd check it out. I hate to say it, but you're better off going to Chilis. I sat at the bar, because I was by myself. As a former bartender it blows me away how a bartender can't even be bothered to greet a guest when they sit down, especially when they aren't busy at 4pm on a Tuesday. Secondly, water should ALWAYS be offered at a bar, but I suppose i can let that slide. Thirdly, at least TRY to show you care, if even just a smirk. I felt like I was just bothering the bartender. I joked a little bit with the bartender and got a little bit of a smirk, I guess they were having a bad day. The margaritas I had were pretty watered down. Now that that is out of the way, the food was very, "meh," it came quick, which is nice I guess, if it was good. I ordered fajitas, and a container of tortillas was put in front of me right after I ordered, so they sat and got cold by the time the food arrived. The fajitas were kinda bland overall. We had a large group of about 15 people, and one waitress, who also had other tables. It took a long time for get my beverage ordered. And then even longer to get my pint of beer, which was no longer cold. My dinner took even longer. The refried beans were hardening on the surface as the dish had been sitting for a while. The carne asada was no longer hot. The meat was barely warm. I had to ask for tortillas for my carne asada. She should have known that carne asada requires tortillas. I had to go inside to ask for salt. The waitress said she would bring it out. Didn't happen. The inside customer that saw me ask for salt brought me a salt shaker after a bit. We asked for more salsa. That didn't happen either. The food was ok, although would have been better if it had been hot, and the beer cold. read more

I have now eaten at this restaurant multiple times and I have never been let down. From the enchiladas to the chicken mole it's all been fabulous. The only issue we ever had was a cold chili relleno, and the manager immediately replaced and made correct. The service is super fast and with service this fast sometimes things like cold food will happen. Just know you will be taken good care of and if you are not happy to bring it up and give them a chance to make it right. If you love chips and salsa like I do this is your place for sure. The homemade chips make from their homemade tortillas are perfect and their homemade salsa has a great taste without the mind blowing heat of some other places. They also make homemade flour tortillas that took me way back to my mom, and all I would have needed would be a little butter and I would have been 12 again. When you walk in to the restaurant you get this peace that comes over you. It's so homey and comfortable with that welcome in vide that you just can't wait to place your order. You are never rushed or made to not be wanted you. I hope you all get the same hospitable feeling my side and I both do every time we visit. read more

What's not to love? This place has delicious food, a large menu so there are many options to choose from. They open at 7:00 am so you can stop in early for breakfast. They make their tortillas in house so they are warm and fresh when served. They have a bar, they have Happy Hour options and their drinks are amazing! Prior to coming here, I read through most of the post Covid reviews to see if there was a common denominator. The word that pops up the most is the word "bland" and some customers didn't care for their to go orders (they do a lot of "to go" business). Service is also a hit and miss issue. Some things that many yelpers did not mention is the fact that this place gets Really loud during the lunchtime rush, especially near the bar. They have a large outdoor seating area along with a children's playscape. They also have a full bar with some craft beers on tap. The interior is quite large and can easily seat over 100 people. You'll find plenty of parking here and about a half dozen flatscreen's to watch. I was surprised as I read through the reviews that there was not a single ownership comment suggesting they may not be interested in how social media affects their business. They start you out with complementary chips and a red sauce which lacks any heat. I have to admit, I was pleased with the numerous menu options. Our food came out piping hot served on heated plates. I asked our server for a couple of flour tortillas which we're not on the bill. The frozen margarita was kind of small, but good for eight dollars. I have to admit some reviews had me thinking this place was somewhere between a Taco Bell and Taco Cabana, but in reality this place is much better than those. I do wish they had a better choice of salsas and would include some jalapeños in the mix. Needless to say, we didn't have high expectations coming here, but what we got for the money was worth it. It's always a great time when I go here. The food is awesome, the service is excellent. The drinks are strong! I always order two dozen of the frozen mole tamales to take back with me to Georgia when I visit here. They're always made perfectly. The regular chicken ones are okay but do not compare to the mole. I placed a delivery order and when my food arrived 1 hour later it was too cold to eat , called the restaurant they just pretty much like oh well that was a third party service that you used, but on their website they prefer you to use the toast delivery. I had the carne guisada migas. They weren't the best I've ever had but they were good. And finding a spot with homemade tortillas is rare around the austin area for some reason so that made it even better for me. What made this meal a 5 though was the great service. Another great location of very good homemade tortillas and Mexican food and I was glad to see that the every growing Manor area has a Casa Garcia's now. A couple of coworkers and myself walked in on a Monday morning after 10:30am and it was super chill. There were folks there but this place is so large that it doesn't feel out of place if you bring your big party of 5 or more. Lots of space to spread out or if you prefer there is plenty of space at the bar too. The tortilleria at the front is just so great to see and serves as a reminder that you should order some fresh tortillas for your table. Just ask your server for butter and I promise you that is almost a meal all in itself. Coffee was hot and plentiful and the service was spot on. Our tacos came out within 15 minutes and we were very happy with the continuous coffee refills as me and my coworkers enjoyed our breakfast time together. read more

Came here on a late Sunday afternoon with a party of 6. We were seated right away, and I love how big the big party booths are. Lots of room for everyone. This is the second casa Garcia locale I've been too, and it's more of the same- great chain texmex! The menu is reminiscent of the Cheesecake Factory- extremely extensive. They have a huge variety of combo plates (and ones with tamales!) an ive never see so many enchilada choices in my life. Everyone enjoyed their meal- I had a combo plate with pork tamale, a beef Gordita an a chicken stuffed avocado half. Delicious, huge portions. It was so good the first time I had it in RR I had to order again. I didn't get any margs here, but I will say they have the biggest, most gigantic plastic cups for water and fountain soda ever which I thoroughly enjoyed. While at work today I didn't bring much food with me so I called in an order then drove in the fire engine to pick it up. It was a very nice looking restaurant. The inside was very clean and the staff super friendly. The tortillas are homemade and taste great. Chips and salsa are pleasantly flavored. The chips seem to be different from the tortilla chips you are used to, but are crisp and easily break. The sauce is not watered down tomato sauce. It actually has flavor and a bite. I got the La Fiesta combo, which came with chicken enchiladas and tomatillo sauce, rice and refried beans, beef taco, and Chalupa. Plenty of food. Everything tasted really good. I will definitely be coming back. I feel you will be happy you came here also. read more

Stopped in a couple weeks ago, I had menudo and she had caldo. At this point we've had this location a few times and the food is def decent but def not amazing. Everything I've tried could use some additional seasoning and flavor and I understand that when seasoning you have to be careful but everything I've had is pretty bland. The service was good, no complaints. We were greeted and seated almost immediately, shortly after our drink orders were taken and then we ordered our soups. We were going to order tacos but opted not to. Casa G's could potentially be great if more flavorful. The one thing to rave about is those freshly made tortillas, they're literally being pressed and made right there and they're delicious. read more

My experience with the group of friends I came with was okay. We were hungry after a full morning of golf. It was very unfortunate our experience with our margaritas and Mexican martinis we not phenomenal. The Mexican martinis for one tasted like the same mix as the margaritas. Our opinion from our experience, Mexican martinis are not supposed to be sweet. We did let our waitress know and she did talk with the bartender. Unfortunately we didn't get New Mexican martinis and we were just offered more tequila. So we turned down the offer, since that wasn't going to fix the taste. Our margarita experience here was very cold for the frozen margarita which was awesome! But something with these margaritas just didn't hit the spot with us. It tasted more like syrup than a margarita with tequila. But again the frozen experience of the margarita was an awesome cold one. For our food, our opinions it wasn't what we expected for Mexican or Tex-Mex. It was kind of bland for us. Like it was missing some flavor. But the food was still good and warm when it was served. The sopapillas were delicious too! I was given a set of four for my birthday. My birthday experience here was awesome. They had me wear this big purple Mexican sombero. The entire restaurant came to sing me a happy birthday. One thing to add was our billing experience, you want to make sure your credit card is in the holder and make sure to let your waitress or waiter know you're going to pay with two cards. One of my friends credit card was lost during the check out process. It was unfortunate, but our waitress denied that we gave her two cards. We were very fortunate to find the card laying on the floor near by. Parking here is on a private lot, so plenty of space to park. The restaurant is very nice inside and plenty of space to to eat. Went in for some breakfast tacos and an enchilada plate (beef) the food was amazing.. how see if you don't pay attention and check your food they'll give you the wrong item in replace of an item you asked for, I really wanted that barbacoa taco however it was another beef fajita taco. It was delicious but not what I wanted at all, the tortillas are homemade and delicious! The beef enchiladas were amazing the sauce and the cheese sauce went perfect together, and the rice and beans ohmahgawd I'm about to order again.. hopefully I'm about to try the barbacoa taco this time. Go try the enchiladas and beef fajita taco, I swear you'll love it! The nachos were so greasy they were not edible. We shared this with our wait Julio who disappeared after we ordered and only return to deliver the food then the check. Pros- -on a Friday evening we were told for a party of 3 a 30 min wait, it was only 10! -booths are very large, plentiful seating, a play area in the back for kids, lots of tvs for sports watching -standard fast Mexican food restaurant style with plentiful options -our waiter was a sweet older man and he was super fast w service and any request. Cons -margs were too sweet or off putting cocktail flavors and not strong for the price. -it is incredibly loud in the restaurant and given it was a Friday evening that's music to an owners ears but coupled w a few large groups boisterously drinking nearby our party of 3 had to almost yell across the table at each other. read more

I will give them 3 stars just because of the ambience and being able to sit with a big party. My office team goes there once in a while and they are able to accommodate party of 20 very easily. Service is also pretty fast. The only complaint I have is they claim to mark something vegetarian which is not entirely vegetarian. "Spinach enchilada"- it's not entirely vegetarian. Rice and beans come with, have meat items in it. I asked them if it is pure vegetarian and they told me me and brought the meal to me. It's just when my colleague told me it's not veg. So my only suggestion to management is to modify the menu if you need to or train your staff on what is vegetarian what is not. Not sure if others suffered through the same. Food: enchiladas are ok. I've been here several times and I have to agree with the folks who find this place to be just ok. That's exactly correct. First I will say that it's a spacious location with lots of natural lighting and nice decor which gives off an elevated vibe. Servers have all been kind and quick with a refill. No complaints there. The food though. It's totally fine, but that's it, and we're in Texas and if you want to serve Tex-Mex, you have to bring the quality. My last time here was at the request of someone else because I wouldn't pick this place even though it's not far. The quesadilla was ok. Greasy, cheesy, warm. There were weird spices I wasn't expecting in it. Like I'd take bite and get hit with a bit of rosemary or thyme. That's fine, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. We were sat for dinner before the end of happy hour, by the time our server came to get our drinks, happy hour was over and she would not honor it even though we were sat and waiting on her. She walked by our table 3 times and didn't even stop to check on us, she was more concerned about her big top in the back. Now that the weather has cooled down, I've been craving some chicken tortilla soup. And the soup here hit the spot. Love the flavor. I did have to ask for more chicken, but they brought it right away. The best part about this location? The homemade tortillas! Can't go wrong with nice, fresh, hot tortillas! I would have given 5 stars, but they forgot to bring the rice with my soup and I was disappointed that my large bowl only had 1 small piece of chicken in it.
