I've been there a couple times now and here are my complaints. * they double book themselves and if you're the first one to the chair they will do everything in their power to get you off in 5 minutes * The website said my haircut would be $28, they charged me $40 because I needed "extra snips" * Today set me over the edge. The barber asked me what I wanted and as soon as I told him he walked away. Then he came back and started snipping away. And I walked out with a haircut I did not want. Moe knows how to cut, but he also knows how to overcharge. I walked out paying close to $70 for a cut. Been a handful of times to the shop and feel like its predatory towards the students at UT who may not be from the area. I pay on average 25-50% LESS in a bigger city than I do here. Worth the time to travel up to Detroit for a similar style of barber shop. If you don't mind the price, he's a good barber, but I stopped going here. read more

Worst Hair Cut of my entire life. I showed a picture of what I wanted and Moe totally disregarded it and did what he wanted. There is a chunk missing up on the side of my bangs he cut with clippers. half way through my haircut he got on his phone and talked to people cam back and then got in his phone again leaving me sit there for over 10 minutes and came out of a room and started to walk by me and said oh are you still here the laughed and started butchering my hair even more. Dylan was one of the best barbers I have gone to in a long time. In town only for the day I got recommended to go here, so glad I did cause this place was awesome. The environment, staff, and cuts were all what a barber experience should be like. Was in town for the holidays and badly needed a haircut. I easily booked an appointment online for the next day. When I got there, I realized they are normally closed on Sundays, but Pro Moe decided to stay open for the Holidays, which I realized was just one of the ways he excels at customer service. My haircut was exactly what I asked for, and he even took care of my unruly eyebrows and styled my hair afterwards, using nice products. ProMoe did a fantastic job on my boyfriends hair. He had never been to a real barber before, or even had a straight razor and wax. Moe really went above and beyond. He made us feel at home and put my nervous boyfriend at ease right away. He demonstrated products for us and made sure my boyfriend was happy with the results. We will definitely be returning. I even had trouble rating this a one-star; so basically it doesn't get any from me! DO NOT waste your hard earned money on a rip off low life at this barbershop! I can't speak for the other barbers that work out of here; I'm solely talking about the narcissistic "Pro-Moe". He's takes advantage, and preys on out of town folks'. I live here in Toledo, and I've heard that from others as well. I've had others have mixed feelings about going to him, and it's hit or miss. He completely whiffed on my appointment; For little work he charged me over $55+ for twenty minutes of bogus work. To start off he Didn't even wash my hair before we had started. #2 All my lines were crooked! #3 he didn't even use a straight razor as the package states; he used some buzzers that ended up cutting me a total of 4 times. I wouldn't be surprised if others have came in contact with MRSA from this crap hole. #4 Didn't receive the hott towel treatment either. All in all the crook ripped me off, and I'll be sure to never recommend going, and seeing "Pro-Moe"; the absolute worst barber with a certification in Toledo. I'd rather go to a great clips than ever go to him again, and we all know what you can expect from those chains hair dressers. I had to pay another $40 for the other barber to fix mistakes, and give me the treatment his packages offer! read more

Well the haircut was a good one. The owner knows how to be a true barber. But the experience during the cut and shave was way less than enjoyable. He told me about how he was from New York and why he was here but then just kept telling me how bad it was here in Toledo. Then he proceeded to tell me he wants to find more barbers but only black people show up wanting jobs and he doesnt want them working there. Great cut if you can get past the banter. read more

I just moved here from Brooklyn where a young fellow named Mark at Georges 2 has been cutting my hair for about two years. He was awesome. He was one of the top reasons I was going to miss my little corner of Brooklyn. I've been in town for about 7 weeks, and I arrived here in need of a haircut. Those of you familiar with math and the grooming regimens of a gentleman will appreciate that this means I have needed approximately THREE haircuts in my short time here. I struck out not once, but twice with other local barbers before I cleared the outfield wall on my visit to La Moda. Stephen (or is it Steven? or did I completely forget his name and I'm a jerk?) listened to what I needed, acknowledged and corrected what had gone terribly wrong in my last two cuts, and set me up right. La Moda was a class act. In from Chicago, I was in a pinch for a quick haircut (walked in). Upon walking in, the atmosphere was very laid back and was asked if I needed anything to drink. Luis gave me a solid cut. It came with a wash and dry (along with a machine foot massage). After the cut was over, the owner Moe finished off the cut very well. Not to mention I was offered some hair products that work well for my hair and one was complimentary. Should ever be in town again, I'll be sure to make sure I plan to get a cut. read more

Out of towner, in town for a wedding- in need an hair cut and a major beard repair. Moe was able to squeeze me into Pedro's schedule, on a Friday afternoon mind you. Showed Pedro a picture of a previous haircut and lineup, he asked the right questions and had me looking like a million bucks. Very thorough with his work, but was still able to make conversation. I was easily able to book an appointment online with Moe, who I believe is owner and head barber. The dude is cool AF and did an impeccable job on my hair. Heard from friends and through yelp that if you care about your hair, this is the only place to go. They weren't kidding. I came in for a walk in Friday evening, they were packed but Moe still fit me in pretty quickly. I've never felt so comfortable in the hands of a barber. This is not a haircut, it's a work of art. This is the first place that I've been to, since moving back to Toledo, that I really like. The last 12 years the same person has been cutting my hair in Seattle - so you can imagine the "holy shit, what am I going to do?" moment when it came time to find someone new. I had never been here but was recommended by a few friends to go for a haircut. I looked here on yelp and noticed a ton of good reviews and the 5 star rating so I figured I'd give it a shot and I was right across the street having dinner at the time so it seemed like an ideal place to go. I walk in and am greeted with handshakes and told to sign a sheet and then I would be called upon for a haircut. The inside decor wasn't really my vibe but it was unique and I like that they wanted to give their shop a personality. I'm called to get my haircut and I have a photo of a haircut/look that I wanted/was going for and he sees and says sure thing and recommends a size clipper for the sides and I agree and he starts the cut. He is moving extremely fast which is fine but I'm not really able to get a good view of what he's doing until he starts cutting the top and everything seems fine until he starts to put product in my hair and styles it a way I didn't ask for, nor did it remotely resemble the picture I showed. The style I asked for just had natural curls, I got a slicked back gents style. My hair was left way longer on top than what I wanted but he had already put a bunch of product in my hair so I felt that I couldn't ask him to cut and shape it like how I had asked and just felt weird and embarrassed about it. Maybe he could have at least said he didn't do that style or something? Instead just assuming I wanted this "gent style" haircut. Maybe this is the only kinds of men cuts they give here and I should have known that before coming? I don't really know. He gave the guy before me the exact same haircut. When I got home I washed all the product out and thought maybe it would look ok being dry and natural but was cut in a way to support this gent style. The back line of my neck was also crooked. So I had to cut and shape it more like how I wanted. Luckily my hair is curly so was able to make it look better and more of what I wanted as the sides where cut fine. I won't go here to get a haircut again but I am giving 2 stars because I thought the service was friendly. read more
