I ate all of the mussels and I was by myself. Then, my main course came. My Salmon was cooked perfectly. I would go back and have the exact same thing. It was that good. It seems simple but restaurants do get it wrong from time to time. Also, the service was superb. Two young ladies seem to run both inside and outside. Prompt and attentive service. Highly recommend this place. I'll be in Saarbrücken again on Saturday and I'm trying to convince myself to try a new place, but I'm probably just going to go back to La Bastille.

This family style eatery is in the food court of the Cora supermarket. We are a family of 5 and I…read morewas thrilled how lucky we were to come here for a late lunch. You order your meals and help yourself to get a table of your choice while the staff make your pizzas. The pizza bread is not thick and not too thin. The Gorgonzola cheese added gives the saltiness that the pizza needs. They are generous in the amount of ricotta cheese given if you choose the pizza that has it included. Keep in mind for tomato based pizzas, it's more of a tomato paste, than a marinara sauce. Or maybe this is a French style pizza? Customer service was wonderful and the pizzas are made from scratch and ready quickly. Please note that one pizza can feed 1-2 people. We will be back again at our next large grocery visit to Cora. We will try the crepes next time.

The restaurant was near empty with only 2 additional parties. We ate in the round tower which meant that we nearly had a private area. Great for conversations, unfortunately it also meant that we were not very visible. This might explain why service was generally very slow, I had to get up and ask for the check at the end, after waiting 20 minutes for the waitress to show up. The food was incredible. I grew up in this region and this might just be the best fine dining experience I've had around here. For appetizers we had a foie gras dish which was exquisite, I had a fish plate. As a main course I had a zander dish which was also really good. All the main courses had the exact same vegetables which was a little bit disappointing, however everything was properly cooked and tasted great. Desserts were also very good. In the end, the price was quite reasonable as the menus are inexpensive compared to the prices of the individual dishes. As said before, service was slow but the waitresses were nice.
