Very very tasty food in Forbach. This restaurant is near the top of the Schlossberg hill that is…read morethe landmark of Forbach. We had dinner there on a Sunday night. The restaurant was near empty with only 2 additional parties. We ate in the round tower which meant that we nearly had a private area. Great for conversations, unfortunately it also meant that we were not very visible. This might explain why service was generally very slow, I had to get up and ask for the check at the end, after waiting 20 minutes for the waitress to show up. The food was incredible. I grew up in this region and this might just be the best fine dining experience I've had around here. For appetizers we had a foie gras dish which was exquisite, I had a fish plate. As a main course I had a zander dish which was also really good. All the main courses had the exact same vegetables which was a little bit disappointing, however everything was properly cooked and tasted great. Desserts were also very good. In the end, the price was quite reasonable as the menus are inexpensive compared to the prices of the individual dishes. As said before, service was slow but the waitresses were nice.

To eat I ordered la savoryarde- it was a iceberg lettuce salad with boiled eggs, onions, chive onion dip, prosciutto (smoked ham slices), and a pleasantly peeled baked potato topped with a brie like cheese. My friend ordered the menu du voyageur. Came with soup, house wine( red/rose/white), chilli con carne, white rice and mini yogurt salad and dessert.
