I had a starter (the best vellutata soup ever), a first course (Maltagliati with pumpkin, sausage and black truffle), a dessert (cheesecake with chili pepper sauce- sounds wird but super tasty), a glass of wine and water. The staff is very warm and nice and welcoming, the atmosphere is great and the place is very well kept. I had a great time and a great dinner there, would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves good food and great company, and if I ever come back to Pescara I'll visit them again for sure.

Well done, regional seafood, technically superb, and plated artistically - a rarity for restaurants…read moreoff the beaten path. This place could be in midtown New York City. Apps and entrees are on the small side and are served on square plates. I started with chilled sliced lobster claws over a bed of arugula and a lemon-herb sauce. I gave it a "9". Next came four grilled shrimp with some kind of yumsters ceviche over eggplant discs; tomatoes and calamari the ceviche base. Cheesy crab-filled risotto came next; it was perfect. The main entree was sea bass with julienned carrots and onions, with a side of scalloped potatoes. It came with a light rosemary-ish butter sauce. Two deserts followed: a scoop of lemon sorbet with chopped strawberries, and a semifreddo filled with bits of minced almonds, Toblerone, and home made caramelized sugar pieces. The semifreddo seemed to be vanilla ice cream and whipped cream blended together: the whole shebang was drowned in hot chocolate. Niiiiice! My tab was 89 euro NOT counting four glasses of wine. Yikes. So stop by the bank on the way over or sit near an emergency exit. Actually called Ristorante Michele Sea River; I call it a four and one-half star meal experience. Everything was technically perfect but not magical and I wanted to be blown off my heels. The place had a wedding reception hall feel to it: sixteen tables in what... 5,000 square feet? Our table seated 12 comfortably. A lounge area near a grand piano in the front had three big couches and seven couch chairs. A tennis center was behind the building and a guest told me you had to be a member of the club to get in. I didn't believe him, but call ahead anyway to make sure. And speak Italian.

The staff is so warm and friendly - they genuinely want you to have one of the best meals of your life (which they deliver). We don't speak much Italian, and the menu being mostly in Italian we just asked the wonderful server Luciano to pick for us. We got a hot and cold antipasto - both were delicious and ideal for sharing in individual cups for serving. Then the pasta! Perfect proportions, truffle and ham or prosciutto and mushroom with Parmesan cheese. Perfectly cooked, some of the best pasta I've ever had outside of my Italian boyfriend's mother's kitchen. Finally the meat - Kobe beef from Milan, served on a hot Himalayan salt rock so you could have it at the perfect level of done to your liking. Lastly, the chef came out and presented us with a surprise dessert - probably the best dessert I've ever had anywhere. The entire meal was perfection. Italiano, Americano, whoever - worth the drive over from Rome or wherever you are. Skip one of the many pizzerias or subpar seafood places Pescara has to offer and get a REAL meal served with love and art. Not a meal we will soon forget. Thank you to Luciano and the chef!

We found this restaurant while cruising through Teramo in Bisenti, thanks to the many well-placed…read moresigns. It's located in a red building, a few kilometers from the center of Bisenti and well worth the drive. There is a wonderful lady who doesn't speak English but happily seats you and helps you get the best food in town. Their menu changes daily based on what's available. The first day we came we had a choice of gnocchi in red or white sauce or fettuccine (for pasta only, which we wanted). We ordered the gnocchi and were so happy we did. The dish is served with fresh grated parmesan and spicy small chiles in olive oil. We also asked for bread and vino rosso (house red wine). The wine was smooth and light and perfect with the gnocchi, which felt like little clouds of heavenly pasta in our mouths. We returned the next day and were offered chitarra--the speciality of Abruzzo which was pasta originally cut with guitar strings and served in a tomato sauce with ground meat. It was also divine. Tomorrow we are going back again. We asked what will be on the menu and the lady told us it is ravioli pomodoro, fettuccini bianco and fungi with truffles. We will have one of everything, because the food is spectacular.
