Solid, après ski destination. A glass of Pastis followed by a few scoops of 'Wife Beater' and a bowl of soupe aux oignons with a side of tartiflette and all is well with the world. I can also vouch for the Aumônière de St Jacques au Gingembre, one of my favourites for sure.
I started skiing way too late in life as I always thought it was for nobs & toffs. My bad, i missed out big time on one of life's great 'get together; participation sports. The most fun you can have whilst still fully clothed. We now have chalet just down the hill from L'Auberge and it is a 5 minute walk so, after a solid day of Red & Blacks runs, calling in here is the perfect way to precede the final Venison & Veg cassoulet pre evening drinks and banter once we get back to the chalet. This bucolic family run bar has hosted many fine nights for us and we have crammed in around their teensie weensie bar to sing in more than one New Year and we still laugh about the night I got that drunk that I was laid on my back outside and the crew tied a rope round my ski boots and pulled me home.
