(Almost had a tapas feel to it, except it was a countertop full of pastries.) I wanted something with fruit in it, and she described some of the pastries they had, but thought I might find them too sweet, and suggested that I might be happier with a blueberry muffin instead. The asparagus was very tasty indeed, as was the shrimp - but there is a limit to how much I can eat, and I just couldn't finish it all! It was DELICIOUS and I wouldn't hesitate to order it again, but would prefer to share with someone. The waiter didn't bring ours out until much later when a local lady noticed he didn't bring us anything and pointed it out to him. If it wasn't for her, I'm sure he would have assumed we didn't know any better and cheated us. As for the plates we ordered, they were thoroughly average. The patatas bravas were pretty good but didn't stand out compared to others we've had. Maybe our bad experience was due to one waiter, but I still wouldn't go back.

It's served with honey on the side that you can drizzle over the eggplant. I don't like eggplant at all because of the taste and texture, but I couldn't taste that this was eggplant at all, so I really enjoyed it. It was surprisingly good with the honey, and I ended up eating more than I expected to. Casa Julio seems to be known for the berenjenas (pretty much every group ordered it at the bar), so would definitely recommend trying it here!
