There's only one word in the English language to describe Highpoint's La Porchetta, a debacle!
I will start with the Herb Focaccia pizza. Whatever it was, was a waste of my time. It's dreadful. It's like eating an oregano desert, with an abandoned personality, dry and the focaccia itself didn't seem like it wanted to be there. It was a parade of soul destroying cinema where food lovers around the world would protest with the lack of respect given to a focaccia. To top this off, it was $11.30. It's fraud.
So after my heart died and love bruised, the Super Special pizza and Capricciosa came out. It was a chance for tasty redemption, but the chief thought he was a comedian, and added extra topping, hair on BOTH! Now, my vision is fantastic, I will spot any abnormality, the tiniest dead pixel on a screen. I didn't touch either pizza and alerted the staff. To my surprise, she came back and said that this hair like specimen was from the mushrooms. Mushrooms? I'm not sure if she was trying to insult us or was also rehearsing to be a comedian. I asked her to get the chief to come out here and explain in what world does a mushroom have any kind of HAIR like characteristics and why in my years of eating anything that has mushroom in it NEVER had this magical, wondrous hair like diamond before? Amazingly, I'm not sure if she understood anything I said.
Both of these pizzas were removed from the bill. I also had an Iced Coffee which was overly expensive for the mediocre taste.
The chair I was sitting on was annoying. I replaced it with another chair of a different style. The floors were dirty and the staff looked uninterested and really didn't seem like they wanted to be there. So while there was actually work to do, they did nothing. Just terrible body language and rude. I can't stand restaurants being dirty, I hate it. Just quit your job if you're miserable.
The decor is cringe worthy. Junk all over the place. But then again, most La Prochettas are like that, but this was even more so.
I have had La Porchetta before several times when I was younger and only a few times more recently and it's not too bad, it's not great but passable. Highpoint's La Prochetta is atrocious!
I guarantee this La Porchetta will be shut down. There's no way this place will survive in a few years. Terrible food, terrible service, a complete waste of my time and to be paying with money is a vilification and a crime to humanity.
Avoid at ALL costs. read more
