The service was fairly fast and our waitress really friendly. The lunch menu had a nice range plus some healthy items and some 'Create your own' sandwich options. The food was quite good, not the absolute best but great for a nice lunch. I got a chicken burger with lovely avocado and juicy chicken. Some of my friend got pizzas and I have to say, I can't comment on taste, but they looked really good!

After a spot of late night Christmas shopping at Carindale last Thursday, it seemed the perfect opportunity to try this popular Italian restaurant. We were happy to wait for a table seeing we hadn't made a booking but I would recommend anyone wanting to try this restaurant to make a reservation. The waitress made it clear that they drew a large crowd even on weeknights. Unfortunately on that night, the food did not live up to its reputation. Our scallop and calamari pasta was bland and had to be spiced up with lots of Tabasco and chilli flakes. The lasagne was average but I suppose I just had higher expectations given the recommendations of the place. Since we've been inundated with different cooking shows on television, the home cook is a lot more adventurous making and tasting food. On the odd occasion, I even make my own pasta and store it in airtight containers. While the Roman Empire Bar probably doesn't beat fresh home-made pasta, it is a decent night out at a fair price.

I've been a loyal customer for a number of years of Pizza Capers at Meadowbrook. However a recent…read moreexperience has meant that I'll no longer be going back there. We had someone moving in and so we thought pizzas would be an easy and convenient meal with so much mess at home. I ordered three pizzas and my partner picked them up. When we opened the pizza boxes at home we found they were all over-cooked, with parts of them being burnt. (They cost just over $60.00). It was now getting late and we still had a lot of work to do, so I contacted the store a day or two later. The owner of the store wanted photos which I sent him, and I also had the receipt. His response, when it eventually came (I had to wait several days) was that he didn't think they were burnt and that he couldn't find any record of us ever ordering pizzas from his store, and so therefore he wouldn't be offering any form of refund. I contacted Pizza Capers head office and explained the situation. After much to-ing and fro-ing, they sent me a gift voucher for $25. That's it? The pizzas cost just over $60! What I objected to the most was the store owners attitude that I was making it all up just to get free stuff, even after being a loyal customer for years. All we wanted was something to eat and yet we were served a shoddy product. You'd think at least they would reimburse the cost of the pizzas in full. If that's how they treat their customers then I have no desire to ever go back there again.

The delivery service costs more than most others, yet they parked in my driveway and told me to come out to get my order. The food was terrible, lacking ingredients that were supposed to be included, and some of it was burned on top - barely edible. Will never order from here again !!!.
