This a very cost and Hacienda like Hotel. It certainly has the feel you get when you stay at a nice family own hotel in Mexico. The suites are huge and well equipped. Venue was beautiful for my best friend's wedding. Front staff was great. Valet staff and one of the restaurant staff were very rude and unhelpful. They could not locate the bride's car for almost an hour and then insisted it was her fault when they had tagged the car with a different number than what was given to her. This is when I found my car had been left out front, unlocked and with the door open since I had arrived an hour previous to this. To our knowledge 2 other family members' cars were damaged when they were picked up from the valet team later that night as well. The night before the wedding we had a reservation for a rehearsal dinner and a male in the restaurant staff insisted he had told someone to let us know our area would be for someone else. While some of the other staff was great I would not plan an event at this venue because of these issues. read more

Upon checking in and throughout my stay (5 days) the majority of hotel staff was unfriendly. After my experience, I can contribute this to management. When I booked the hotel through my travel agency, the booking included breakfast. I called the front desk to have a manager call me more than 7 separate times, my travel agency once, and an email to discuss the issue. Other than the breakfast issue, my room was hot, the toilet leaked from the bottom, and my shower was broken. The water was coming from both the shower head and shower faucet. They replaced the shower head but it did not resolve the issue. The room has a musky smell and housekeeping consistently left glasses dirty, trash on the counters, and no ice bags. I'm giving this place 1 star because the courtyard is beautiful and the food at the Tack Room was delicious. I'm not sure how they maintain 4 diamonds. Not worth a stop if you are Laredo. read more

Lovely historical building in downtown Laredo. This hotel has so much potential but needs sprucing up. It just feels kind of tired and needs attention to detail such as cleaning cushions, emptying trash, towels left out by the pool Needs some upgrading in the hallways and furniture is older. More comfortable beds and linens would be a good start. Most disturbing was the scalding hot water in the shower. Seriously, you can't control it and will be forced to sit on the side of the bed and take a spritz bath! This is a serious accident waiting to happen. We had 3 different rooms on the first floor with the same problem and reported the problem but it was never fixed. During checkout I asked again and the front desk person didn't have an answer. Beverages from the Tack Room were excellent and our dinner was good. I'd stay again if I can check my room and shower first. read more

My wife and I just returned from a trip to Laredo and spent two nights at the La Posada. This is our second visit and the only thing I can say is that we cant wait to return and stay there again. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. A perfect stay! read more

If you want an experience with mediocre service from check in to check out to include an hour to Get food that was cold and twenty minutes to get drinks this is what you will receive. The poll and patio was beautiful ! However, the rooms had the stench of stale water and mold. This was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever encountered! read more

This hotel gets an A+ I was staying here with my band for a wedding we were playing in town and wasn't expecting much with the accommodations provided for us but upon pulling up to La posada you're met with a beautiful quaint peaceful looking hotel in the center of downtown friendly staff and good food at the restaurant. Most of all why this place has my undying appreciation is after a hectic morning the day of our check out I realized I didn't have my wallet or iPod they sent someone up to my room to locate both. My wallet was discovered quickly and returned to me but my iPod was not, however I did just receive a package in the mail and lo and behold there is my iPod carefully packaged thank you La Posada! read more

OMG!!!! The Zaragoza Restaurant inside is HORRIBLE!!!! We waited, and waited, and waited a little more for service. All this while watching other customers walk up to the kitchen door asking for cups, coffee, food...finally ordered and OMG!! The food was awful!! Currently staying at this hotel. Thought it had a charming old world look to it and that's why I selected it. So, why the one-star? The air conditioning in our room DID not work. Kept the air on high and set at 52 and the room stay muggy and was never cool. I spoke with front desk. They sent up two maintenance men and did nothing. I asked why the hallway was colder than the room. I was told the air was working fine. The temperature reached a balmy 114 degrees. I was never offered another room. I paid $115 per night to sweat in one of the most uncomfortable beds I've ever slept in. I would advise making a reservation at a more modern hotel and not being drawn in by the old world charm of this place. I think I would have been more comfortable in a Motel 6! I'll be making more trips to Laredo in the foreseeable future, and rest assured for $115 per night, I'll stay somewhere else. Take my advice and drive on past this place, it's not worth what they charge and their customer service is lacking. read more

I had business to attend to in Laredo so my girlfriend and I stayed here on 06/12/16 for one night. This is not my first time to stay at La Posada. Perhaps I've stayed here at least 4 other times. I enjoy this hotel more everytime I come here. I had time to relax and swim in the pool for a couple of hours. Margaritas are delivered poolside .. refreshing! The room is quiet and comfortable with plenty of space. I had a junior suite. Tax included, the final bill was only $125.00. Free covered garage parking. I will definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a great experience while traveling to Laredo. read more

La Posada Hotel was a delightful respite from the chain hotels! The beautiful colonial Spanish architecture with lovely grounds and native plants added to the charm. The rooms were spacious, well kept and did not disappoint. Even though the hotel sits right at the border, actually just a short walk across the bridge into Nuevo Laredo, the secured entries and parking provided reassurance of safe lodgings. The Zaragoza Grill was very good and happy hour was an awesome value! I can't wait to go back to Laredo so I can stay at La Posada Hotel again!! read more

Stayed on the 12th and 13th. Very good hotel. We got a junior suite which was spacious enough for a family of five. Pros: - food at restaurant is good - west side pool is heated and garden is nice. Beach chairs are nice and high quality like you find in a luxury resort - room is in good condition with flat screen tvs and fast internet - fitness center is not big but has decent equipment - Victor the bellman is the greatest guy and knows everything you need to know about the area - very reasonably priced for the quality of the hotel Cons: - front desk staff is not helpful or knowledgable - the historic plaza around the hotel is nice but everything else around is kind of run down - some parts of room could have been maintained better (tub did not drain properly, carpet had some hard stuff suck to it and temperature in tub was inconsistent Overall recommend it if you are looking to just hang in the resort. read more

I went away on business and stayed at this hotel due to all the wonderful reviews. Unfortunately my stay did not result is the same satisfaction. When I first arrived I was greeted by a somewhat professional staff member who seemed to be having a bad day. Unfortunately this started my disastrous stay. After checking in and making my way to the room I immediately noticed what I knew to be mold in the bathroom. This was not mildew (I know the difference. I've worked in property management for 6 years). I didn't want to stay in this room but I was tired from traveling and wanted to get some rest and plus I was only staying for the night. So I took a quick shower and preceded to get some rest. Unfortunately I couldn't as I noticed a new issue...the AC. It wasn't working and it was around 90+ degrees outside. So I called the front desk to complain about the mold and the AC only to be told that they'd come take a look in a few. This "few" turned into 45 minutes. I was furious by now as I was extremely exhausted and really needed my sleep. I called down to the front desk yet again only to be told that they "forgot" about my request and would send someone up shortly. This was the last straw for me and I decided to take my business elsewhere. I packed up went to the front desk made my complaint and left. I will never stay here again and I would hope none of you will. You can do without the mold, broken AC, unprofessionalism and bugs (I didn't mention those but yes they had those too). read more

I called twice to make certain the hotel shuttle would be at the airport when I arrived. It wasn't. I called again and waited a while. Still no shuttle. I eventually took a taxi to the hotel. The front desk clerk just shrugged when I told her the shuttle never showed up. I probably won't be staying here again. read more

Meh is all I can say I understand where they are trying to go but they really have not kept it up. We came on the forth and the pools were crazy full and loud with kids but the sound but surprising the room was quite. The room is a good size and clean nice decor but that is it. We came in straight to the parking lot and then had to make the walk to the front desk. The attendant never bothered treating us with nothing more than " your name?" Only spoke Spanish and did not bother giving us a map of the hotel. Got into the elevator and After asking 4 people where the desk was we had walked from one side of the property to the other just to have to walk back. At the front desk they never greeted us just took out cc. Also watch you cc they just copy it on a piece so paper for anyone to steal. Get to our "balcony" room an it faces a wall so that was our view. Close the rr door after you use it because it takes about 20mins for the toilet and the tv does have a high volume. read more

We booked a hotel room to evacuate Corpus Christi from Hurricane Harvey. When we arrived at the hotel at 7am, they told us they were getting our room ready. Came back again around 10am and told the same thing. Came back again at 2pm, and after waiting in line for 2 hours, we were told our room (booked online through hotel website and confirmed on phone the day before) was given away to someone else. The manager basically told us "oops we made a mistake. Sorry." And did nothing else for us. Hurricane evacuees! read more

At first I enjoyed my stay with only a few minor pet peeves. But, then I was forced to endure "checkoutgate." I have never been so insulted with a customer service experience! I was a speaker at a conference & used my 30 min. lunch to check out...With NO LINE or other customers to attend to, they took over 20 minutes attempting to process the parking charge. I finally pointed out that I was going to be late for my speech (I was!) & that if they could not charge me for the parking they should comp it because I had to go. Their attitude was atrocious! Finally they handed me a receipt that said "refund due $____" But, because they were so snarky I decided to check with CHASE to see if they charged me. Sure enough, they lied. They charged me! So I call back to explain that they either need to process the promised refund or issue me another receipt so that I can expense the charge. What followed was a horrid experience. They called me all kinds of insulting things and hung up the phone. I would call back, ask for a Manager, they would hang up again or give me some excuse (along with more insulting comments). Clearly they have caller ID because eventually they stopped taking my calls. I call from my mom's phone, they answer but once they hear its me its expletives and yelling and "don't call us again!" and... Long story short, no matter what I did those two jerks at the front desk would keep me from accessing someone in Management and I was getting so furious now I was screaming. Long story short, I asked another conference guest to call the front desk and ask for Catering. THEN, I finally get a Manager. At first The Manager didn't seem to believe the story (they ARE the nicest hotel in town, after all...). But, when I provided the information trail including the number of calls, he apologized and promised to look into it. Absolutely the worst experience ever! read more
