Appreciate the work the City does. They recently handed out turkey to La Puente residents for Thanksgiving which was a beautiful way to give back. Plenty of people in the line, but staff was friendly, met the mayor who was so gracious, and the building itself was easy to navigate. Its great to see the city hosting wonderful events like this. I have noticed an influx in parking tickets in the area. Specifically on our side of the town, the parking enforcement officer goes ahead of the street sweeper and cites people like crazy. The previous officer was less vigilante about it as he would drive behind the street sweeper, which at times allowed for someone to race out in the event they forgot to move car. He seemed to have more empathy for the working families in the city. New parking enforcement officers seems to have a quota he needs to meet. Had a neighbor cited for expired tags, even tho vehicle was inside their property, which I learned ticket person could not do! Another neighbor for being too far away on the curb. Hey La Puente City Hall, stop hiring nasty rude admin!! Norma Ramirez at nramirez@lapuente.org clearly hates her job, people and probably herself from the sarcastic tone in her voice. I'm not the only person who feels the same. I know politics plays a big role in filling open positions but we can DO BETTER by stepping away from that classic stereotype that all City & County workers are A-holes; especially office positions that have to engage with the public face to face or over the phone. They are the face and the first person in contact.. they are making you look really bad. Hire someone competent and people oriented. read more

Patrick from La Puente Parking Enforcement was the highlight of my day. I was given a break when parking unaware in a street sweeper temporary no parking zone as I did my daily work. I was given a ticket just as I was walking back to my car and understandably so... but when Patrick was met with understanding and compassion that he was just trying to do his job, the same as I, he had a change of heart and left me with a heavier wallet and a much thankful warning instead. I would like to thank the whole staff in city hall, specially Regina and Meka. Their service was amazing they always kept me notified of everything that was going on. They where very polite on the phone even after my millionth call. They where very knowledgeable on everything that was going on, any questions I had they would answer. We understood that some things are out of their hands and that we just needed to wait. Overall patience is key and let me tell you they definitely are very patient! Keep in mind they are also waiting with you, so no need to get frustrated with them, they are doing the best they can to make whatever changes necessary in a timely manner. The women in the front desk are despicable. The rudeness, the bad attitude, all of it so unprofessional. From the minute we walked in these women made it clear that they were irritated and annoyed that we showed up. What kind of customer service is this???! Don't these bitter witches know that my tax payer money pays their livelyhood? I'm sick of these city employee's unprofessionalism. They need to resign if they hate people and hate their jobs. This review is solely for their passport service as I had no other dealings with another department within this city hall. I actually had no other bad experience except with the lady in charge of passports processing. In fact, her underlings have been a delight, They are obviously functioning as best as one could under a tyrant, who was behaving as if there is no recourse for terrible customer service and just generally behaving as an unhelpful, terribly rude human. We called ahead and took down information one would conceivably need to complete a passport renewal. specific amounts down to the cent for check/money order we were told it was another amount at our appt. an even dollar amount at the processing by the supervisor in person at our appointment, in the most condescending of ways, that our forms are incorrect and money order amount were incorrect. obviously, somebody messed up in telling us the amount as we were told an amount down to the cent. we would not have minded the inconvenience on account of human error and come in another time if not for how atrociously we were treated by the person obviously in charge of processing. It makes me wonder what kind of work culture protects and retains such a monster. read more

My mother in law reached out to the city and Valley Vista a month ago. While I was at work the street sweeper hit my mailbox. It didn't go down but the box is compromised and bent at the securing points. My girlfriend and her mom told me La Puente public safety was following the street sweeper. She told me the street sweeper hit the mailbox backed up and hit it again. To their defense, I'm sure it was an accident. Regardless, the box needs to be replaced. Keep in mind, La Puente public safety was following this street sweeper and they supposedly have cameras in the vehicle that should have recorded the whole incident. My mother in law immediately called the city after the incident and they directed her to Valley Vista. She was told that she would receive a call back. It's been about a month and it seems like no one is taking responsibility. The City of La Puente, who is responsible for public safety doesn't want to hold Valley Vista accountable. Even though the recording is probably gone or has since then been deleted. I have to let the public know how terrible this situation was and still is. This predicament was handled poorly. How can the city stand by knowing how powerless citizens are especially when situations like this occur. However, when the situation is reversed there is an immediate citation and if we fight it, only then are the cameras convenient for them. Financially, there should be no issues for them as usually there are insurance policies that cover these sort of things. Morally, no one is being honest here. That all in itself is very discouraging. I expected this from Valley Vista because they often drop trash bins on the floor along with trash and leave it for you. One of my trash bins rolled all the way down the hill after the trash guy set the trash bin back down. The guy never did the right thing and it seems that's a common practice. I didn't however expect this lack of accountability from the city. Such a let down. Pay attention to the date of this review. It will display how urgent the city or VALLEY VISTA view this matter. If I haven't taken it down then you know the situation has been left unresolved. read more

Worst experience of my life! I am so appalled to call La Puente my city. As most of you know this is a prominent hispanic community. I understand that we are in America and English should be spoken here BUT when you have a Hispanic Spanish speaking person in charge of the front desk and they are rude and disrespectful to people simply because they do not speak Spanish it is simply UNACCEPTABLE! This my story I got reported by my neighbors which one I don't know because when the cities guys came to my house on a Sunday and he told me that my neighbors reported me on a garage conversion and to go ahead and report them so I did so it's ok for your neighbors to sit in front of your house and drink and smoke and leave their mess in front of your house so we told him please go park in front of your own house so what happens they report us we report back so the officer I spoke to told me it my fault because I reported them and just going back and forth so it not worth reporting your neighbors so I came back to la puente the city I grew up in that I use to love , to take care of my parents because my dad was on his death bed and my mom just got her leg amputated she was in the hospital when my dad passed she wasn't even home when my dad passed city of la puente where is your heart you are not a good city to live in so as soon as I can I will be putting my house for sale.. read more
