There were two older gents having pints of Guinness on the patio when we came in, but the bar was entirely empty. We had a nice chat with the sweet and friendly Venezuelan bartender. Asked him how the season was going, he said "nonexistent." It's totally dead in the winter in Torremolinos, the beach party town. We didn't have any food that even, just two pints, one Guinness, one Stella Artois. Menu looked to be standard pub grub (toasties, burgers, chips - meaning fries - with things on them, etc.), note the chef is English, but the owner is Irish, and those two terms are not interchangeable, so we were told. There's a snooker table in the back, have always wanted to learn how to play, one of these days maybe. Apparently, there's a rather sizable expat community here in southern Spain, something about the perfect weather. We felt welcome and comfortable, def you should pop in for a pint.

What's more, I know the oysters hubs and I have been getting on the East Coast in the States are good- but these here in Spain's Southern Coast are mind-blowing. Horseradish and mignonette? They're obsolete in these parts. You will get Tabasco as an alternate (for hubs) and some individually-packaged red wine. It did just fine. Prawns were good but the Sardines were excellent with a slightly crunchy-garlicky exterior. The oysters took it a bit over from what we've experienced during our stay. But come to think of it, comparing the quality and straight-from-the-sea catch to the East Coast, they were worth the €54. Skip the juicy-flavored sangria and go for a red or white instead. In essence, it's all about the seafood here.

My Mum and I ordered lobster which had a set price per person listed in the menu. They charged 3 times the price and when asking the reason for it they argued about the weight of the lobster and other things. Their argument didn't hold as each person we spoke to said something different. Misinformation in the menu is something that can get you into trouble. Careful Lobito De Mar! Finally I ordered pineapple for dessert, explicitly asking for it to be plain and they served it with a yogurt sauce. Bad experience overall.
