The guy then told us that we had to order in 5 minutes or the kitchen would be closed (this was at 8pm). I called our hotel (who had recommended the place) and had them speak to the owner. We left as quickly as we could. Never going back here. Paris has many incredible restaurants. Don't waste your time and money on this one. I would give it 0 stars if I could.

The decor in here is quite stunning. You really feel like you're in Morocco with the decorations. And it's also not even that loud, which is perfect for a nice intimate dinner. Had the Kefta with Moroccan Salad and Royal Pigeon Pastilla as starters, Lamb Tagine with Seasonal Fruits and Kefta Meatball Couscous for entrées, and the Selection of Moroccan Pastries as dessert. Portions were really good and everything was super tasty. Not the absolute best food I've ever had, but I was not disappointed. Staff here are quite friendly. Even though they don't all speak English, they are very nice and helpful. And yes, they do have English menus at least. Really enjoyed Essaouira, glad I made the trip here.

We actually stayed in the room over the restaurant and the owner was so kind we decided to eat dinner here. It was magnificent!! We had the couscous, vegetable soup, I had the sausage and my friend who is vegetarian let the owner know and he brought a delicious chickpea medley to go with the soup and couscous. The bowls/portions of couscous and soup were huge! Probably could have fed 6! We ordered hot tea after dinner and got the rose water marzipan for dessert. It was heavenly, (seriously it was a spiritual experience!). I have to admit, we had no idea what we were getting when we ordered. We speak VERY limited French and we communicated using google translate for what we needed to. The menu was entirely in French and extremely limited English. The restaurant itself is very small, beautiful with eclectic decor, cozy and inviting. I'm so glad we decided to dine here, it was one of the main highlights of our entire trip!! If we're ever back in Rouen I will be visiting again! Wonderful people, wonderful food, wonderful experience!! I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone!!

So don't go there if a modern or elegant interior and tiny, poshly presented dishes is a must for you. Go there to quench your appetite and get amazing Morroccan food full of flavours. Mind you, portions are big, so don't overdo with appetizers, no matter how delicious (I made that mistake and next couldn't cope with the main dish, purely due to its size). Couscous is their speciality and it comes in many varieties, all of them with meat (mutton mainly), yet still we could agree on a vegetarian, customised version. The owner tends to the guests himself and creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere. If I ever go back to Rouen, I'm sure I'll visit again!

This little restaurant is down the street from the Moulin Rouge, which is a good landmark if you're not sure where you're going. Avoid the suicidal mopeds and viola! You're there! Despite speaking very little French, we were able to ask the waitress if she spoke English and, although she said she only spoke a little, she was definitely closer to fluent than just a little! We ordered a chicken tagine with preserved lemons and lamb couscous, along with the house wine and mint tea. My tagine was perfect. The chicken fell apart without so much as touching it with a knife, and the preserved lemons were a treat as I've never had them before. My husband was given couscous that we could easily have shared and not finished. I mean, it was seriously a mountain of food. He says the lamb was tender and spiced perfectly, and the broth was also tasty. Couscous was perfect, of course. Nice and fluffy. The house wine was intense, in my opinion. It was like a flavor punch in the mouth every time I took a sip. Pow! Loved it. The mint tea was perfect. My only regret there is that I didn't have more. After lunch I asked to see the tray of treats they have on the bar. She gave me a quick tour of what was on display and left it on our table along with tongs. I chose a Turkish delight - rose! Which I've never tasted before, and it tasted exactly like the flower smells. I also had a small Baklava, which I have had before, but this one was incredible and dripping with honey. Yum! Overall, I have to say that everything was flavorful and perfect. Definitely exceeded my very high expectations of Moroccan food in France. I wish I could go there again!

I have had a favorite a favorite Couscous restaurant but my last couple of trips there were less than satisfactory. Service dropping in quality, food just so-so, and many more tourists. This could become a new favorite. Stopped by for lunch and it was busy with locals and service was quite good. Food was excellent with some of the best merguez sausage I've eaten. Chicken was also very tasty as well. Worth a stop if you've got the craving.
