We came here to grab a quick bite after exploring a bit of The Gothic Quarter. The arepas came out hot and we're delicious. Only complaint was that it took over 30 mins for our food to be brought out after we ordered. The place had a nice quirky vibe. They also had freshly made juices that varied from mango to guava. Chicken Avocado- tasted like chicken salad Caracas- nice portion and was tasty

Custom arepa- chicken avocado beans and tomato!

Great place for arepas. What I appreciated was that the guy let me customize mine because I wanted chicken instead of cheese, and I wanted avocado. The prices aren't horrible unlike many places in BCN.

I forgot to get the name... lol

I like the spot.... actually came in to go to the bathroom but decided to grab a bite. Food was okay... a little on the sweet side for me but I should have expected that because she said the bread was made out of ground corn. Nice people, good food, very clean

Finally a real arepa! Not deep fried. Homemade. Two sauces. Traditional and non traditional fillings. Pricey but they pack the arepa full to the brim, definitely worth it!

Awesome experience eating in what seems to be a super popular joint in the neighborhood. The guys speaks great English...for tourists. The arepas taste amazingly authentic. I ordered #5 - carne mechada with plantains, black beans, cheese...real good with the green sauce. They serve beer too

5 stars for taste. The Caracas Arepa exceeded my expectations, especially since I went in to the experience with a certain expectation of how it'd taste. The atmosphere is nothing special- an in and out (Chipotle styled?) place to grab a quick bite. I also had the guava juice which was fresh and tasty. The have a beer selection of about 7 bottles. For the fresh juice and the arepa I walked out at 8.75€, which was a bit more than I anticipated. Overall really tasty and will probably go back for lunch.

    The #5... Incredible!

I never expected to have an arepa this good in Spain! The corn/masa exterior itself was earthy and delicious, but all the fillings packed inside really pull the flavors together. The meat is juicy, the beans smoky, and the banana/plantain sauce at the table is out of this world . I had the #5, which the owner mentioned is how arepas are preferred in South America... Definitely try it! You won't be disappointed. Oh, and the restaurant is standing room only, so keep that in mind if you're looking for a sit down meal

Here, the "buns" of the arepas are dyed colored coded to go with the specific mix you order. Sifrina = bright magenta pink sandwich pocket. Pretty freaking sweet! Wanted to point out Venezuela has its own unique version of guacamole, affectionately called Guasacaca. El Rincon carries on this tradition, and I'm so glad I was able to experience it. I met the owner, one of the very few workers that spoke English, and he explained the make up of this tasty condiment - onion, cilantro, green pepper, salt, garlic, avocado, a little bit of olive oil, and vinegar. EXCELLENT atop my arepa! The entire sandwich melded perfectly, sweet, salty and savory in every bite. The owner gentleman did a great job checking in, the service was fast and efficient, and I never felt rushed. I was really digging the vibe of this eatery, as it seemed to be a true neighborhood spot. All the locals inside, none of the touristy appeal. I recommend if you like Venezuelan food to give this restaurant a try!

First we asked for vermouth as we were told this was a traditional Spanish drink. He told us he didn't have any and when we opened the menu, it was right there. It wasn't very good so I wish we had skipped it. We ordered a burrata salad and it was good but when the seafood paella came it smelled so bad my daughter almost gagged. It was not edible. We both tried it and it tasted like it smelled...rotten seafood. It took forever to get our bill and we clearly did not like it but the two (very nice) older waiters just ignored the fact that we ate nothing. So, 50 Euros later we were still hungry and so disappointed. I normally don't leave bad reviews but I would hate someone else to have the same experience.

We did our usual things by ordering a bunch of arepas (meat or veggie filled pocket style sandwiches) and a couple of appetizers to share around the table. They also have three tableside sauces to choose from...cilantro based, chipotle based and a milder sauce as well. The sandwiches all came with generous portions of meat and it was fun to mix and match sauces to compliment the herbs and spices on the sandwich. The two appetizers were filled with cheese and some fresh avocado adding to the flavors of the meal. Priced right, good food and close to our residence for the week made for a great stop!

The restaurant is located in a quiet street close to Port Vell just off Passeig de Colom and easy to miss. Once you enter you are greeted by Latin music and a friendly waitress (which we have not encountered often unless it's the waiters trying to lure you into a restaurant on la rambla). The location is really nice and different with a colander or mini-BBQ functioning as lamp shades. Everything is nice and clean. They offer a variety of original Argentinian food like milanesas or empanadas. We had three different milanesas (La mano de Dios, La favorita de Leo and La Bombamera) which were all really good. We had some questions about the food beforehand and the waitress was really friendly and courteous and answered all of our questions. As drinks you can get a variety of international and Argentinian beers and cocktails. The mojitos get served in preserving jars which is pretty epic. If you come later at night the restaurant turns into a restoclub which is frequented by Argentinians. This means it should be pretty authentic (in my eyes) ;) Positive: + great food + good and very stylish mojitos + attentive and very friendly waitress + good music Negative: + nothing If you ask nicely you might even get the wifi password ;)
