My colleagues and I literally stopped in to this place as we were walking by. It was a low key atmosphere and the staff were pleasant. I had an awesome chicken and chorizo paella and ate every grain of rice. Enjoyable meal and would love to go back again.

We really enjoyed it. Great food and ambience, and felt it was reasonably priced. Service was a little slow, but staff were friendly

Another thing we noticed was our server, whose name I believe was Eddie. We felt he had a very cold demeanor towards us, and his service with us felt uncared for. One thing that stood out to us was when we asked for some tap water for our drinks, and he set it on our table in a rushed way that felt as if he slammed it or set it aggressively (probably mistakenly but impolitely from our perspective as customers). Not to mention we noticed he didn't check up on us to see if everything was good with our food/order. All in all, we understand that during rush hours it might be taking a lot out of the servers/waiters to satisfy each and every customer in the restaurant, but the food wasn't worth the service we felt we had received, and we were disappointed. Honestly, we wouldn't recommend anyone else to come here either.

Gets busy and there's a bit of a wait if you ordered grilled food. Prices are OK. Fair compared to the stuff upstairs but more expensive than its nearest neighbours. I ordered a mixed gyros platter with a fanta. Sent the order off, waited 10 minutes, then the guy called me over and said "I don't have mixed is chicken OK?" Not a big deal to me except for the fact that he was pointing at the plate of chicken gyros as he was asking me if it was OK. I mean... could I say no at that point? Seems a moot point to ask. If I had been warned about it beforehand, and knowing that I had to wait 10 minutes anyway, I would have ordered mix souvlaki or something. He also got my drink wrong (got a coke instead of a fanta.) Didn't give me utensils or napkins. Meh. All in all not terrible. Might come back if I'm in the mood for this kind of food but there's a lot of choice in the mall so we'll see.

I actually frequent this place quite a lot when I'm one of my shopping missions, which I feel over the next month will be quite a lot (ahh Christmas!). So, it's always good to know that I have a good go to when I'm having a stressful shopping experience and I just need an energy boost! Tonight I chose the mixed grill souvlaki (pork, chicken and lamb) with rice, pitta, Greek salad and a side of tzatziki. The rice was rather bland but that's the only negative thing I can say really. The three meats were tasty and were cooked right in front of me (fresh fresh fresh) - the lamb kebab in particular was packed full of flavour! I also love their pitta bread dipped in that creamy tzatziki. Happy and full up :)

The assortment of salads and vegetables to choose from made for a light, energizing meal (until we got to dessert) and I can't recommend this restaurant enough!! It's not overly fancy and the focus is on the food. You walk in to what feels like a little market with salads and baked goods on display that you're able to order from the table. I'd wanted to check out an Ottolenghi while we were in town anyway, and it seemed like a great place to get pastries for my husband and kids and something more interesting for me. We walked over from our hotel at around 12:30 on a Saturday, with the goal of getting back to the lobby by 1:00. Ottolenghi was nearby, tucked into a cute, very British sort of alley. Thankfully, the place was quiet, and we were able to sit and eat a fast lunch. The set-up was a little bit confusing, with a take-out operation in front and a larger cafe area with table service. The cafe seats were maybe not available for take-out customers, but I was able to talk to the host and get a table for a short dine-in situation, with food selected from the take-out section. The boys got croissants, but I wanted some of the lovely savory pastries and deli salads on display. Weirdly, I wasn't allowed to get the first thing I asked for, a tartine with sugar snap peas that was take-out only for some reason I cannot imagine. But I did get a brioche laden with courgette, pitsachio, and mint, as well as a summer deli plate with my choice of three salads. I went with the green beans with roasted pineapple and jalapeño dressing, the roasted carrots with pistachio, lemon, charmoula, and ricotta, and the roasted lemon and sweetcorn tabbouleh. Everything was fresh and tasty, and we were able to eat and leave in like twenty minutes flat. Service was fine, despite the arbitrary withholding of sugar snap peas. Ottolenghi is a London icon well known in America, and while I don't think it's as exciting as, say, Dishoom or St. John, it's also an easy, casual place with multiple locations, where you might get some good food on the go.

We were given menus and offered a choice water - including free tap water with ice and mint leaves, were presented a complimentary salmon amuse bouche and ordered cocktails. So far, so good. Once our delicious cocktails arrived, we ordered our starters and mains, and a bottle of wine. Unfortunately the white wine arrived warm, but it did come with an ice bucket, so it cooled down whilst we ate our starters. To our surprise, the mains (a standard burger and chips) arrived stone cold, but we let the waiter know, and he seemed genuinely apologetic and brought us fresh ones, which were hot. The food wasn't bad, but neither was it anything outstanding. The whole Parlour bar and restaurant menu has a quirky "circus" theme, with the cocktails named things like "tears of a clown" and "fairground millionaire", and the chips served in mugs or flower pots! Our burgers were served on a plastic cafeteria style lunch tray. Whilst the service was good, the prices were a little on the high side given the quality. I suppose it's the central Canary Wharf location that draws in customers looking for team lunches paid for on company credit cards.
