We recently celebrated my nephew's baptism at La Terraza del Campo del Moro, and it was a truly memorable gathering. The views of the Royal Palace are absolutely stunning, providing the perfect backdrop for a special family occasion.
It was a classic Madrid heatwave, but we managed to keep cool under the umbrellas with a couple of perfectly chilled cañas and glasses of cava.
The food was a major highlight, featuring some fantastic classic and modern twists:
The incredibly tender cachopo (the Spanish take on a Milanesa) served with peppers on the side, it was absolutely delicious and a hit with everyone.
The Tapas: We loved the classic croquetas, the crispy fried eggplant with hummus and honey, and the decadent, salty cheese spread torreznos dipped in a rich bacon sauce.
A sweet ending with the trio dessert: creamy dulce de leche cheese cake, chocolate lava cake and apple strudel to wrap up the lineup.
A Small Note: We also ordered the Venezuelan tequeños. While they still delivered on flavor, they could have been a bit warmer and crunchier.
A massive Gracias to Carlos (both the manager and our waiter)! They were incredibly attentive, supportive, and handled every single one of our requests with a smile and patience because it was a bug crowd. Outstanding service!
One quick tip for the venue: The terrace could definitely benefit from a few more fans and extra umbrellas to cover the major sun spots and keep the area a bit more refreshed during these intense summer days.
Overall, a beautiful spot for a celebration. We will definitely be back! read more
