Went to La Terraza tonight with my girlfriend, and id say don't go unless you are looking to lose money over stupid things. I got the four entree combo with a quesadilla, flauta, burrito, and soft taco, and that was 17 dollars. It came with beans and rice. My girlfriend got the "burrito loco" which was just a big burrito with steak chicken bell peppers beans onions and rice, and it was 11 bucks? our plates were the same size but her burrito was taller than my "entrees". But let me get started on the food. I got a bean burrito and asked for them to add cheese (bean and cheese burritos are like a soul food to me.) Your choices are chicken beef or beans so im not upset i didnt get meat, what i am upset about is they poured cheese queso sauce over my burrito, and charged me 1.75 for it? the beans tasted and looked like canned beans i had in tacos a week ago, and the cheese sauce tasted like sonics new queso burger. The flauta was alright but the meat tasted like a chinese food buffet? the soft taco tasted like taco bell soft tacos which was so disappointing but to top it all off my quesadilla was a soft taco with more sonic cheese sauce in it. absolutely disappointing. My girlfriend said her burrito was flavorless which her "burrito loco" looked to have the most items in it. Wow!! , this place is a Gem situated off of Hwy 425 in Monticello. Truly enjoyed the Mexican food dining and experience. Our Order was handled in prompt and hygienic manner. Our hostess served us with a smile all through out the way. We love to customize our order at Mexican restaurants, and the server and chef here happily served what we asked for! We ordered -Fajita Nachos with chicken, shrimp, and Steak -Sautéed plate of onions, jelepeno , shrimp, chicken, over rice, and topped with queso, -Green sauce ( not verde salsa) this is made from jelepeno, cilantro, lime, garlic etc...thick and creamy texture with a spicy kick! Probably the best Mexican restaurant you'll find in town. The bar area and dining area are separated for families that don't want their children around smoke or loud music. I always order the Quesdilla or Chimichanga when I come. Both taste great. There's also pool tables in the bar area. They offer TouchTunes as well which is nice when your in the mood for a certain type of music. Prices are fairly decent for the location. With this being a dry town I know people definitely enjoy being able to buy a few drinks while hanging out. read more

I came here in a group and it was quite the ordeal. It took a very long time for them to come for our drinks and orders. They sat us very far in the back where no one else was around on top of that. When I finally got my food it had zero flavor. The ground beef was like mush and the food was utterly awful. The service was awful as well. I would not reccomend this place honestly. I had a great dinner here!!! I was greeted and seated right away. Chips and a little pitcher of salsa were delivered right after I sat down. The menu offered many options and I chose the Chicken Fajitas for 1. The portion was HUGE!!!! The meat was nicely seasoned. It was accompanied by rice, beans, guacamole, sour cram, lettuce, and pico. A lot of Mexican restaurants taste the same to me. Most of which are very bland and this place was no exception. The salsa was good and had a hint of lime to it. It was between chunky and runny. I had the enchiladas la crema. They were covered in cheese dip so if you love cheese dip, that's the plate for you. There were 3 enchiladas : chicken, beef, and potato. The chicken and potato were pretty good. The beef was very bland and I had to add some hot sauce to it to eat it. It came with rice. The rice was well-prepared but it's just rice. I wasn't given a choice for beans. Sweet tea was really sweet and refreshing. Don't expect anything too much out of the ordinary here. It was more bland for my taste. The menu is your standard Mexican restaurant fare. There's nothing particularly exciting or unique, but the food is not bad. The service is generally good--and that is, sadly, pretty unusual in this town. The best thing about it, however, is that it has a full bar. Monticello is a dry city and there are currently only two restaurants in town that serve alcohol. So, that alone is enough to keep me coming back. read more

Nice little restaurant, but it was so loud. It was hard to enjoy the good food when I could hardly hear myself think or try to have a conversation of my own. Some of my worst culinary experiences have been in Monticello, AR, however in fairness there are a couple of great places to eat there. What made this one so bad wasn't the food, it was the indifference in the service. I ordered a Colorado burrito and they put this nasty queso on it. I had asked the waitress why is there queso on this when the menu doesn't mention anything about it being on there? She just shrugged her shoulders and walked away. I scrapped it off and ate it anyways. The meat was good, the beans (which are non vegetarian) and rice were ok, and again the queso was horrible. The chips are greasy and thin. The other person's Chimichanga was nasty tasting according to her. She wanted to give a zero, I wanted to give a two for an average of 1 star. read more

since the moment we stepped Inside , nobody welcome us or asked us how many people were needing to be seated. Two of the employees just stood there speaking under their breaths to each other. We stood there for about 5 minutes before anybody at us. We ordered and when we received our food, two of us had ordered green enchiladas. One of us had clearly ordered green chicken enchiladas and the other person did say only green enchiladas and the order number. With that meal, there could've been the possibility that our friend hadn't read if they were made of chicken or spinach and cheese, which was what they were made of. We let the waitress know and all she said was if needed it to be replaced. We had expected more of a sympathetic offer to maybe add a discount. We honestly didn't care about a discount but more of a "we care" type of answer. they could have maybe also let us know if the enchiladas were supposed to be made of spinach and cheese. One of the other meals was a shrimp and steak fajita platter, which was burnt. We spoke to the manager as well not being content with the alternative offer from the waitress. the manager did not offer an apology either all we got was an "ok" and they gave Them a discount on their checks but without any further comments or interactions. Well, I could have sliced a piece off my tire and ate it and it been more tender.
