I was on vacation in Rome and one of the warnings I heard from many rung true:
"There will be a lot of walking."
As a New Yorker, you think you know walking. You have walked. As a European, you are allowed to scoff at New Yorkers. Cobblestone streets, a lack of public transportation, and more sights to slow you down in your step will have your feet aching like no tomorrow. And yet Italians can walk around in high heels and dressed so fashionable without having to hail a cab. New Yorkers you've got nothing on this life!
I was able to cope but my mother had a much harder time transitioning. She already had walking issues no orthopedic function shoe could fix and her two week supply of Dr. Scholl's pads were gone in a matter of three days.
Farmasalus came to the rescue. We stumbled into this historical pharmacy and the staff was so helpful and eager to help us with our needs. We were able to buy some blister and callous pads to help ease the pain of walking. What a relief. With this purchase I was able to drag my mother around Rome another three days.
The shop is small but carries a variety of specialty items from basic medicines to expensive soaps. Everything is of high quality.

Come un newyorkese, si pensa di che conoscere camminando. Hanno camminato. Come un europeo, si sono autorizzati a schernire newyorkesi. Strade acciottolate, la mancanza di mezzi pubblici e più interesse a rallentare nel vostro passo avrà i piedi doloranti come nessun domani. E ancora gli italiani possono camminare in tacchi a spillo e vestito così alla moda senza dover chiamare un taxi. Newyorkesi che hai niente su questa vita!
Sono stato in grado di far fronte, ma mia madre aveva una molto più difficile tempo transizione. Lei aveva già camminare problemi nessuna scarpa ortopedica funzione potrebbe risolvere e la fornitura di due settimana di pastiglie di Dr. Scholl erano andati nel giro di tre giorni.
Farmasalus è venuto in soccorso. Ci siamo imbattuti in questa storica farmacia e il personale era così cordiale e desideroso di aiutarci con le nostre esigenze. Siamo stati in grado di acquistare alcuni blister e insensibile pastiglie per contribuire ad alleviare il dolore di camminare. Che sollievo. Con questo acquisto sono stato in grado di trascinare la mia madre intorno a Roma un'altra tre giorni.
