I went in because my entire back, shoulders, and neck were an absolute mess of knots - turning my head was difficult, my shoulders felt like they were up to my ears, and my entire back felt on the verge of spasming. My session was with Stephanie, and she worked some deep tissue magic. I'm not going to lie, I was pretty sore afterwards but was expecting to be. But 24 hours later I can look over both shoulders with no problem, and my back feels much more relaxed! The establishment is clean and quiet, and the room was dimly lit during my massage so it was relaxing. I also very much appreciate the availability of evening appointments, so there's no rush to get there after work!

I started to search on that Google machine for another RMT in the Markham area and I found Michael at Markham Village Massage. They have an online booking system and it was easy for me to get an appointment the next day. Of all the years I have lived in Markham, I never had to go to this southwest side of Hwy 7 and Markham Road. I found parking right in front, but there seem to be parking behind the building as well. Apparently they've been there for almost 20 years. The office is small, it's really just a nook and that leads into the treatment room. I found Michael very friendly and I was relaxed at the time and afterwards. However, when I returned home, my family inquired about the red line down the back of my neck. I have had a lot of massages before and none of them had ever left a mark. I took a photo of it and asked a RMT friend, he confirmed that unless a tool was used, treatments shouldn't leave any visible marks. I didn't recall being asked if a tool can be used, so not sure how else this line could have happen from anything else I did that day. While I like the ease of online booking, I just don't think I'll be coming back.

In the washroom there's a funny sign that says "if you sprinkle when you tinkle, please be neat and wipe your seat." Delightful. Once you step inside the massage studio, you see a model skeleton with a Christmas hat on (I went during Christmastime, but I'm told he wears different hats at different times of the year). And, at the front desk, there's a glass container filled with Lindt chocolates. Yum! The experience is great even before you've had a massage. Then came the massage. It was excellent. Michelle asked me how the pressure was, my injuries, what I wanted to work on, and really listened. Overall, I highly recommend Solace Massage Therapy Centre, and will be visiting again soon.
