It is still definitely a store for chefs and people in the food, industry rather than tourist. More tourist are going to the shop, but it doesn't really accommodate a lot of people. My daughter actually went to purchase some cooking supplies. Each piece is marked with a number You then go to a book and look up the number to see the price of the item. The staff were helpful if you ask them questions. I actually went outside after a few minutes because the store was small and crowded. The area around the store was a nice place to and people watch. It's the beginning of a park that stretches to Les Halles Mall.

The store is not huge but has a lot of selection crammed into a modest space. They have products from all over the world and all sorts of items for cooking and baking including pans of all kinds, small appliances, fondant, silicone molds, colorings, and so much more. The staff were friendly, spoke English, and seemed happy to help. It was super hot in the store, though. Check their hours as they close for an hour mid-day on Saturday. We found a few silicone mats (Silpats) for baking macarons, but be warned that the sizes are not exactly the same as those sold in the U.S., so they might not perfectly fit your baking sheets. They had the versions for bread as well (Silpans). Prices seemed quite good compared to prices paid in the U.S. probably since these particular items are made in France. This was definitely a fun place to grab a few baking items!

Luc was our guide and chef, and did a really great job. We enjoyed shopping for ingredients at the market just a few blocks away from the Le Foodist kitchen. Once back to the kitchen, Luc gave us the run down of what we would be making. Instructions were clear, and we all worked together to put a 3 course lunch together. I even learned a few cool new techniques such as a simple "sous vide" by tightly wrapping chicken in plastic wrap and cooking in hot water. Fun, educational and delicious. They offer a variety of different classes and I would highly recommend when visiting Paris.

They have some lockers up front for your belongings and a coat rack. Our guests were late. The ladies let us in to a waiting area where they had snacks and coffee/tea. We hung out on the couches. The chef was so kind as to wait to start the class for us and she even stayed late so we had our full class time. Wow. We made croissants and other pastries. The recipes were given to us via QR code at the end of the class. We were able to ask questions throughout. Chef was making jokes and making sure everyone was pulling their weight. In the end, she created a gorgeous table scape of our items and even organized them as to who made what. We worked in teams and I think the lady team items looked better than the guy team items. Haha. Everything tasted good though! Chef opened a bottle of champagne for us at the end and we drank and ate. We took everything home in large paper bags to savor again. The class was so fun and very safe. It was worth every penny. In fact just being on their email list is worth it. They have wonderful emails with recipes!

As we were leaving the store, a sales person approached us with a suspicious look and started asking questions as to what we were doing there. I am not sure if she thought I had been stealing or she saw me take the two photos (of displays) and was angry. Nevertheless. I explained to her that I myself was a shop owner, was excited to see many of the same designers and admired the merchandising. I told her I actually personally knew some of the designers (which is true) and I thought that might be of interest to her. She was still suspicious. I told her I had just spent the 90 Euros at her shop. She never smiled or apologized. Furthermore, the woman that rang up my sale was unfriendly.
