You can tell you are there because there is a light, if you turn left it's into the beach area and paid parking ($5). Or turn left and you can park on the street for free. We walked across the whole park and explored, took pictures, ran from chickens (well roosters), etc. If you go later in the week there is a restaurant that is open (Wed - Sat or Thurs - Sat). That would have a pretty cool view and is in a pretty old historic building. On the way back we walked across the civilian bridge towards the beach. The second we got on the bridge we got cooled off because the beach breeze made it that far. Walked back along the beach and had some additional photo opps. Keep this in mind, the heat of the day it does get warm. It's easy, relatively flat walking, but hot non the less. Take some water so you don't get over heated. We'd recommend this as part of your stay in San Juan if you like exploring historical type locations.

Well,…read morewhether you slip, hit your head and hallucinate because you *chose* to skate during bad weather through a 1/2 inch of rain; OOORR you simply safely stroll around looking for a nice spot to take your kids to, just know this park is one of the oldest in the island, and a nice, old-school way to kill time. But as is the case with beaches in Puerto Rico, avoid it during very late afternoon and night time unless there's a special event of some sort. There's an awesome nearby hamburger joint, creatively called "El Hamburger" :-P where you can have the best cheap burger afterwards. Or perhaps go to Old San Juan or Condado, which are both less than 10 minutes away by car. ---------------------------------------En Puertorro, ahora------------------------------------ Bueno, definitivamente no es muy buena idea escoger patinar cuando está lloviendo a cántaros, en este parque o donde sea... Por supuesto, como en todo parque y playa en Puerto Rico, no es recomendable estar ahí en la noche, para evitar robos o situaciones lamentables, salvo que hubiera algún evento especial en que haya mucha gente, claro. Cerca de ahí, como a 5 minutos, hay un sitio de hamburguesas que se llama "El Hamburger", y es muy bueno. Otra alternativa después-de es Condado o el Viejo San Juan, ya que quedan como a 10 minutos en carro desde el parque. :-)

I find this is among the best places to bring kids. There are 3 playgrounds, plus a few other spots for them to enjoy. There is plenty of space for riding bikes or scooters without worrying about cars. The park is safe. This is also a nice place to have picnics. You can also have birthday parties here. You just have to call and make a reservation. The park itself is mostly well kept. There are a couple tennis and racquetball courts that are in bad shape, but the basketball court, track, moratorium, playgrounds, and some tennis courts are in good shape.

There is no beach here but you can enter the lagoon on your paddleboard or kayak. There is a kayak rental. The park is also good for exercising and playing sports. There is a path for walking, jogging or cycling. Safe, family friendly and dog friendly. There is a parking lot and street parking available, restrooms, and a soda machine. There is no parking for the beach on the northern section. A nonprofit conservation group called El Estuario de La Bahia de San Juan hosts a family friendly event every 1st Saturday of the month here with games and educational topics. At 7pm they screen a movie free of charge. The movies are dubbed in Spanish with English subtitles. Overall, the Laguna is a nice place to hang out.

It wasn't safe to walk out into the surf. Still, the expansive green space bordered on all sides by palm trees and abutting a stone walkway into the Atlantic called to me and I determined to get back. As luck would have it, the latter part of my trip landed me next to the park. Not only did I have the opportunity to visit it during the day, but I got the chance to rummage through the green & beach, look at the fountain and sculptures, walk out onto the water, see and feel the waves crash into me, take pictures, and get lost into the hypnotic blue of the ocean. The 'window' is a perfect mix of earth, sea and sky in the midst of the trendy Condado section of town. If it doesn't make you appreciate the wonder of where you are, something might be missing within you. I found out from my friend that the park is the scene of a free jazz event during the summer months. That sounds good enough to warrant a return trip.

This is a wonderful area right outside the Port of San Juan. Its a great place for a stroll in the…read morearea and off the ship. Small vendors are located in the area selling all kinds of items including jewelry and souvenirs. The area also have some places to take pictures including a large sign that says I Love Puerto Rico (I heart Puerto Rico) and another sign with Boricua! on it. Probably the nicest area outside a Port I saw on my Carnival Cruise to Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Saint Thomas.

There is also a gazebo, where I have seen people taking salsa lesson some nights. I also see residents of the area walking and jogging around the park, as well as walking their dogs. There are several benches throughout. Kids like to ride their bikes and scooters around. Parking is the biggest problem. My husband and I usually circle the block several times before we can find a spot. Also, there is no fence surrounding the park, so you have to keep a close eye on small kids because the park is surrounded by street with constant traffic. Still, it is a very nice park.

It's the best place to find an Uber driver or a walking tour. It's the perfect drop-off or pick-up point. Everything in OSJ is accessible from here. The square is surrounded by shops & restaurants. The San Cristóbal Castle is also close by. The main focal point is the monument that commemorates the 400th anniversary of the discovery of the New World by Christopher Columbus. It's located at what used to be the Puerta de Santiago. The monument looks even grander from street level with the fountain in the foreground. Make sure that you walk around to the other side of the square. It's where you'll also find the "I Love San Juan" sign. It's a great photo op!

Beachside service from the Doubletree was a nice touch, though be prepared to wait - the server has to take orders and then drive back to the hotel to fill them. The water was warm and totally swimable, though the rip tide might be a little strong for smaller children. I especially enjoyed watching the locals dogs play on the beach, chasing waves and birds and rolling in the sand. Those are some very happy pups!

I excpect a park named The Park of the Indian to have more than what I saw instantly. Not a big space either but the walk around the park was sort of interesting and the view of the beach is just about the best feature. Single and double ceramic seats adorn the grounds and access to the sand and beach are well, right at your feet. There were a small group of people practicing Tai Chi, a part of the recreation area was playground with odd, interactive, life-size fixtures and minimal displays again of el "Indio". Great place to take pics and a great place to have a quiet meal or meet up.
