Went because of the great reviews. Took a while to get seated, sat upstairs and had to wait quite some time to get menus and then order. Even though the restaurant wasn't full the waitress was very stressed taking our order and rushed us to make a decision. Ordered the starter tapas plate, bad quality, dry and felt old. I ordered some patatas bravas for my main. They were burnt on the outside and not cooked on the inside, and they were drowning in salt. Sent them back with the waitress and asked for the bill as we gave up on the restaurant. 10 mins later a waiter comes back with my patatas bravas saying basically that I was wrong thinking they were too salty. "Should have asked for no salt" and "the chef is from Spain and that's how they should taste". Trust me, eaten tapas many times and they were a heart attack in a bowl, but it's always nice to be lectured.... Not. Explained that that's fine but I don't want any new ones just wanted to pay. Went downstairs to pay at the bar. The people from the table next to us were at the bar arguing with the owner/Spanish "chef" because he wanted them to pay for something they didn't eat. (They were served the wrong dish and sent it back straight away) Anyway got our bill from the waitress while they were arguing, the patatas bravas, which I've barely touched, was on the bill(!!!!!). Unbelievable. Said that I did not want to pay for it, the waitress ordered us to wait for the owner to finish his argument. We had enough and left money for they things we ate and left, then the waitress was screaming "No! No!" All in all a very unpleasant experience, the main problem is the owner/chef who seems to be exactly like those owners of restaurants that are on Gordon's kitchen nightmares. read more
