1.Great selection. We shopped most of the major furniture stores in ABQ between May-July in search of a new living room set. We found nothing that hit us. Then when we asked a security guard at Cottonwood for directions to a furniture store, he suggested we try Lazy Boy. We decided to give it a look. No longer were we searching to find just one thing that appealed to us. Now we were challenged to pick between several sets that exceeded everything we had seen over the last several months! Anita, our salesperson, explained the features of each set, one of which was that some sets were pretreated against stains and spills at the factory. Eventually we made our selection and could not be happier after having lived with it for 2 months. 2. Sale. We took advantage of their Independence Day sale. What we learned by shopping for three months was that all the other furniture stores always advertises "sales." Mid-June was still Memorial Day sale which morphed into Independence Day sale which extended into late July. In other words most furniture store sales appear to be regular prices, Not so with Lazy Boy. Their sales are sales. After our initial purchase of a sofa and love seat, we decided to go back and add a recliner. When we passed by the display with our sofa the price was much higher than we paid -- it truly was an Independence day sale. That taught us two things. First, if we are shopping at Lazy Boy, we'll go during a sale, Labor Day, Presidents' Day, etc. Second, if we're shopping at another furniture store with constant sale signs, we'll haggle. 3. Delivery. So we ended up with sofa, loveseat, and recliner. They came in two separate deliveries, but we were only charged one delivery fee. First contact for delivery was by text message. So keep an eye on your texts. Lazy Boy words their delivery texts with an imbedded warning, "Same Day Customer Cancellations or Reschedules will have a $50 handling fee added." So make sure you respond on delivery messages and can meet the delivery date and time. Both of our deliveries were delivered by the same crew, Ty and Luis. This just wasn't their job, it was their profession. First they installed a special cushion pad on the front door to prevent damage to the furniture and door frame -- I hadn't even seen that done by professional moving companies. They carefully brought in the new furniture, inspected, positioned, and even tested out the reclining features. After a couple weeks, we decided the sofa needed to be moved another foot away from the loveseat to accommodate the recliner features. Since it was too heavy for us to move, we waited until they came with the recliner and asked them for an assist. Ty and Luis did so. No problem. 4. Finally, I noticed about 10 Lazy Boy YELP reviews over four years and some were negative. I was surprised at the negative reviews. Then I got to thinking, in the course of four years, Lazy Boy has had hundreds of sales and only a few bad reviews, that's probably excellent. Not to detract from the poor experiences, but in any business that is bound to happen. It was just hard for us to envision it after the professional people and service we experienced. Very nice and supportive sales person. HOWEVER, our very expensive chair broke in multiple ways less than a year and a half after purchasing it. Of course, they will do nothing since it is over a year. Will have to either pay them a very high rate to fix their poor quality product or buy a new chair. My husband and I traveled all the way from Los Lunas to this location to find a recliner. Not that hard ,right? WRONG! We took at least an hour finding the right chair for me. We paud CASH for it and still waited a few days to pick it up. My husband got to the warehouse, and it was DEFECTIVE straight out of the box!!! It would take 8 weeks to get parts for it.... Purchased our furniture, a love seat and couch. Was told the couch would take 5 -6 weeks and will be delivered. We received the love seat immediately. 6 weeks later the couch is to be delivered. It was damaged. Cut up. So now, we were told it will be an additional 6 weeks for our couch. Is there not an inspector when loading furniture? We paid a lot of money to wait 12 weeks, I wouldn't have purchased it. Disappointed with this company. Thought it was the best. Price, delivery and warranty are what will get you stars. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE! I don't know if all lazboy locations lie. But this one does. I spent $10,000 on a sectional sofa. They knew I lived 300 miles away and I paid $500 for delivery. They sold me on the great warranty and said if anything happened someone would come to my home and repair it. The back has been loose since it was delivered on one chaise lounge. They will repair IF I DRIVE IT TO ALBUQUERQUE AND GO BACK AND PICK IT UP. 600 mile round trip. This is essentially fraud and a scam. The first time took 3 months to repair the low grade internal plastic recliner parts and the second time took four months to get parts and repair. If I could give 0 stars I would. I been waiting for my furniture for almost a year now. My sales rep Chuck has been worthless. I can never get an answer on where my furniture is and when I will be receiving it. I was told three months. This is an independent store so do not buy. Go to one where corporate can get involved. Corporate office said they could do nothing since it's independently owned well let's see if they do anything to assist. Finally after a year waiting for couches. And over 20000 spent at this place. Good store, keep in mind that this is an independently owned store so they will not take your old sofa (or furniture away) which is a problem for most of us that are doing an upgrade and don't already have someone to donate our old sofa to. They will hand you a sheet of paper with four shine numbers on it to call charities to donate your furniture to, but the problem is that they are corporate numbers, they are not direct numbers so you have to pay phone tag for a while to get to a department that will actually talk to you and then you find out that the furniture has to essentially be perfect, they don't do repairs anymore so unless you have perfect furniture you are stuck and this store will not help you out, we have to call a local moving company to come take the old furniture away and then they will try to hopefully donate it otherwise they have to dispose it for you. Other than that (which is a big deal for most people) this store is fine, you can pretty much figure everything out for yourself so we did not find the salespeople to be much help (we have been here several times to figure out what we need) because they only sell what you see on the sales floor, the salesperson can check to see if they have stock in the warehouse otherwise you buy the one that is on the floor so the salespeople steer you to what is on the floor and in stock so they can get the sale. (What is on the flor is exactly the same as what is in their warehouse.) If you want a color or material that is not on the floor then they try to dissuade you from any special orders by telling you that it will be 4 to 6 months before you can get it delivered. The units on the floor are all grey, beige, black or white and the fabric samples are all grey, beige, black or white (at least each time we went there that is all they had) so the color choices are extremely limited. We have owned LA-Z-Boy furniture for decades so we are very familiar with them. They are nicely built but we have worn them out (recliners) only to find that their warranty does not cover the hardware past a year so they really do not stand behind their product in a way that matches their prices. Other than that we find that the furniture is decent, the sales checkout process is slow and tedious (we had also made a purchase at American Home on the same day and they were easy and super fast) but they are otherwise functional. read more

My husband Chuck and I have been working with 2 very special employees of La-Z-Boy - Samuel (a great Manager/Salesman) and Kleimer (a talented Designer). As Chuck and I went through the process of selecting furniture, we visited the store so many times because we couldn't make up our minds on which sectional vs 2 loveseats and which tables to get for our small space. Samuel was so patient with my indecisiveness and presented us with many options, styles, fabric options, lots of information and absolutely everything! Kleimer proved just as valuable with his creativity and knowledge of design. He found us the very fabric I had long searched for. You know what else is so special? These men themselves! Samuel and Kleimer are just so darn nice, thoughtful, comfortable to be around, and fun. We shared laughs together a number of times. As for La-Z-Boy itself, I have purchased only their sofas, loveseats and recliners for about 30 years now. The quality is just so good. read more

I called to have a recliner repaired. I was told to not have to pay a service call I could take pictures of the problem. I sent pictures and was told they could see the problem and could ordered the part. That I would be charged $88 to fix it. Today I was told by the repairman that I still have to pay the charge for them coming out to inspect the chair. I told them no one came out I took pictures. I called the the office for repairs and was told I had to pay $80 to come out and inspect the chair plus $88 for labor. What? I have had 12 Lazboy recliners with no problems, BUT I will NOT buy from this company again. read more

For many years, I thought La-Z-Boy only sold recliners. The recent TV ads with Ms. Shields is what prompted me to visit the store in Rio Rancho. I found the salesman, Mr. Dominguez to be very knowledgeable and helpful without the slightest pressure. He quickly assessed our needs and began to point out a few selected sofas for our review. He saved his favorite for last, a very traditional sofa, sturdy and elegant, and his favorite turned out to be ours! Sales clerk had issues getting out order right. Was never told when it came in we would need to get from the warehouse. When they called to let us know it was in they just told my husband we close at 5 and call an hour before you pick it up. I called the store 2 hours before they said they would let the warehouse know, they never informed me that I had to go to the warehouse and get it, the sales clerk at the store was rude telling me to read my paperwork, I explained that we had just moved and I had no clue where my paperwork even was. This company is a TOTAL ripoff!! I did a special order that cost me nearly $5000 with NO REFUNDS in the contract and this is how they ripped me off!! This junk that they made me is worth $500, so their profit was almost $4500!! They are full of deceptions and lies!! They built my 'new' piece of furniture with cheap used parts. The parts are of pure junk. DO NOT do any kind of special orders with this company because you will get screwed!! You can feel the wooden frame on your backside and your hips and back will be sore for a long time. The power footrest is jerky going up and going down, it hits the wooden frame. The power lumbar is now in the middle of my back instead of my lower back. This piece of furniture is a TOTAL waste of money!! I've purchased 4 Lazy Boy queen sofa beds, in four different parts of the country. I love these beds, with their inflatable core inside the mattress. My friends have always commented how comfortable the bed is. Usually, when you have overflow guests and someone ends up with the sofa bed, you can see a hint of disappointment in their eyes when shown their room. You never have to worry about this with the Lazy Boy. While I have had excellent sales and delivery customer service in each area of the country, New YorkCity, Catskills Mountains, Hawaii and now Ellison Blvd here in Albuquerque, where Paul took great care with us and our purchases, I'm writing today to compliment Lucas at Albuquerque's Jefferson Blvd distribution center. Lucas just provided me with the best customer service I've seen in a very long while. I had a mattress issue (my first issue in the 15 years or so I've been purchasing these sofa beds) and when I called in, on a Saturday, during all this corona virus stuff, anspoke with Lucas. I won't go into details, but Lucas found a way to solve my problem within 3 hours of my call. I was astonished, thinking I would have to wait until Monday to speak with the right people and then there would be a delay due to the health issue. Not so! Lucas said the thing about having a sofa bed issue is that you don't know about it until you really need the extra bed. So true! And he went to work and very quickly I was back in business by noon!
