Honestly surprised that I have been to Amsterdam as many times as I have in the last several years, and yet I have never been to La Zoccola del Pacioccone. It's literally right next to where I usually stay! The menu can be a bit intimidating with all the different options. Opted for for the Burrata pizza as I knew would be to my liking. It was basically a standard pizza with prosciutto and burrata cheese on top. I was actually pleasantly surprised at the quality of this pizza. I just assume that all European pizzas are Neopolitan-style, but this was much firmer than that and held the weight of the ingredients well. Super well made, as is evidenced by the oven they proudly show off. Not greasy at all either. Staff were really friendly here. Definitely worth coming back, especially considering how close it is to where I usually stay!

This is the best pizza I have ever had outside. It's even better than pizza I've had in Italy. If you want good authentic Italian pizza and tiramisu, you have to eat here! In the service was amazing also. They're very friendly and speak Very good English. It was extremely busy and we had to wait a few minutes, but it was worth every second of the wait. I will definitely be here again, but I'm in Amsterdam.

Best pizza ever! This was magical!

This review is long overdue but daaaayummm this was some good pizza! I wouldn't be lying if I said this was some of the best pizza I've ever had! I often exclaim it to be THEE BEST pizza I've ever eaten. It's a small joint so it's not the best for big groups. You'll mostly find tables for small groups, with very little room between tables. But lucky for you, the intimate table settings really add to the vibe and intrigue of this lovely little pizza palace. Just don't be surprised if you rub elbows with a stranger. This place was recommended to us by a friend, and they did not disappoint. Not only was the pizza fantastic, but so was the service. Although we ordered our pizza to-go due to limited seating, we were lucky enough to enjoy some of the lovely Limoncello on the house! The pizza was so good, we actually ate here twice during our time in Amsterdam. I can't wait to return!

Came here for dinner. It can get busy since it's a pretty small space. Nice vibe inside. The waiter was friendly. Menu was straightforward. Tried their salami pizza. Was tasty. Dough felt a little soggy in the middle. The house wine was alright, probably wouldn't get again. Overall good pizzas although I had better in the city.

Great Naples pizza! Beer, wine, soda. One pizza maker, one server, 20 seats! Quiet alley.

    Hot salami

Great pizza, the sauce is the best part! It's a small space but the food is incredible, would recommend for anyone looking for an Italian style pizza.

Great pizza on a side street in a very busy city center. Totally recommend...likely the closest thing to Napoli that's not close to Napoli.

Not a perfect pizza but the staff made up for that. I had the Salame Margherita and it was pretty big for one person.

So next time I was in town, I was sure to make a reservation. They anticipated my arrival and sat me at the bar. They have WiFi that works! The pizza was really good and you could taste its freshness. I had a couple of cocktails but it was really tempting to get beer on tap. The interior is cozy which adds to La Perla's exclusivity and reservation-only culture because there is limited seating inside. My friend recommended La Perla to me. He goes every time he's in Amsterdam. I can see why. Service was also great and quite friendly.

When we arrived we were seated immediately, though service throughout seemed a little slow as they were quite busy and not many waiters/waitresses. We ended up ordering the proscuitto and margherita pizzas, both of which were great! The margherita was so fresh and flavorful - I loved the sauce so much and the thin crust. A great classic pizza. The proscuitto was a bit more elevated with parmesan and arugula, and was also delicious! It was almost a little too much though to the point where I preferred the margherita. Also be sure to try their chili oil - it's so good!

The pizza was definitely good but it didn't wow me the way I thought it would given this restaurant's prestige. The service was great and the inside is very nice but yeah. Truthfully I didn't think this was a super standout. Maybe I've had too much Neapolitan pizza... Worth eating at for sure especially if you haven't had Neapolitan before but yeah. Their cacio e pepe bucatini ball was my favorite part of the meal. Sooooooo yummy!!!! We managed to snag this reservation, no clue how. But 100% you need one so be sure to get one! I think they have a take out storefront though so that's also an option.

Reservations are often booked up for a year so our best bet was either take-out or walk-in. I don't think take-out is available every day of the week so be sure to check before heading out! When we visited, the wait for walk-in was over an hour and there was no way we were going to do that. Take-out is actually its own building and entrance right next to the restaurant. They don't have the full menu as the sit-down side but you can get your pizzas so much faster. They even acknowledge the fact that people will eat in front of the store so they'll provide plates instead of the pizza boxes to save on waste. They'll also have scissors to help cut your pizzas into shareable portions. Each pizza is large enough for a single person but it's better to do family-style and order a bunch of different types to try more. Their style of pizza has a bit of a larger crust and I ended up not finishing those. I tried the Oyster Mushroom, which was my favorite with the mushroom and garlic flavors. The second one was the Salsiccia and Patate (I think?) and was our meat pizza. I couldn't really understand the cashier but they were out of something so the pizza I got wouldn't have been the complete thing. I'm not sure what was missing but overall, a tasty pizza too. If you can get a reservation, I highly recommend dining in to try more things. But if your wait is over 30-45 minutes, just do take-out because I don't think it's worth the wait.

In the open kitchen you can see (and hear!) the chef work his magic. The bread, the starters, the fresh home made pasta's and the secondi's are all amazing. They import a lot from Italy themselves, and you can even but a bottle of olive oil here. The place is full of ferrari signs, foto's of Sophia Loren, etc. It feels like a second home. Great for a nice romantich night out or a double date, maybe not so good if you go with more then 4 people, as the place is very small. Expect to spend about 115 euro for 2 persons incl a bottle of wine. Make sure you reserve a table!

On the outside it doesn't look all too fancy. Inside, the tables are closely arranged; making getting up from your table quite a challenge at times. However the waitress was friendly, and the atmosphere cosy. I had the truffle tagliatelle, which tasted excellent, but sadly wasn't cooked properly; it stuck together. Same goes for the pasta with sausage we had. Maybe the secondi taste better, but I'm not prone to go check them out after this experience. All in all, good service, but for the pricing they might pay a little more attention to the food.
