Honestly surprised that I have been to Amsterdam as many times as I have in the last several years, and yet I have never been to La Zoccola del Pacioccone. It's literally right next to where I usually stay! The menu can be a bit intimidating with all the different options. Opted for for the Burrata pizza as I knew would be to my liking. It was basically a standard pizza with prosciutto and burrata cheese on top. I was actually pleasantly surprised at the quality of this pizza. I just assume that all European pizzas are Neopolitan-style, but this was much firmer than that and held the weight of the ingredients well. Super well made, as is evidenced by the oven they proudly show off. Not greasy at all either. Staff were really friendly here. Definitely worth coming back, especially considering how close it is to where I usually stay! read more

This is the best pizza I have ever had outside. It's even better than pizza I've had in Italy. If you want good authentic Italian pizza and tiramisu, you have to eat here! In the service was amazing also. They're very friendly and speak Very good English. It was extremely busy and we had to wait a few minutes, but it was worth every second of the wait. My daughter, who is 12, American, and a picky eater insisted on pizza once a day in Amsterdam. This was her favorite of the four pizza margheritas she tried. Why? Because it was simple, fresh, and the ingredients were all great. Obviously this is in the red light district so I wouldn't take a child there at night. We went around noon and it was fairly full, with a cheerful vibe. We liked the music. It's extremely tightly packed. We found it very easy to order and get our bill. This review is long overdue but daaaayummm this was some good pizza! I wouldn't be lying if I said this was some of the best pizza I've ever had! I often exclaim it to be THEE BEST pizza I've ever eaten. It's a small joint so it's not the best for big groups. You'll mostly find tables for small groups, with very little room between tables. But lucky for you, the intimate table settings really add to the vibe and intrigue of this lovely little pizza palace. Just don't be surprised if you rub elbows with a stranger. This place was recommended to us by a friend, and they did not disappoint. Not only was the pizza fantastic, but so was the service. Although we ordered our pizza to-go due to limited seating, we were lucky enough to enjoy some of the lovely Limoncello on the house! This place was a happy surprise! We found them in Yelp, and they were still later at night. (We found that many establishments stopped serving food around 7-8pm.) They have a very small dining area, you will definitely bump into people, but the pizza was amazingly authentic. (The owners are Italian.) Beer and wine are available, but there is t a bar area. There are also a few tables outside of the weather permits. When we walked in they were packed, but we were immediately greeted and quoted a time to sit. To an outsider I'd say it was chaotic, but having worked in restaurants I saw that they knew what they were doing. We were seated as promised and our food was brought out as soon as it was ready. I will say that the pizzas look shareable, however they are so delicious everyone orders their own...and finishes it! I had no regrets!! read more

Muuaaaahhh! I've not had pizza in Italy yet but this is what I'd imagine it to be: thin crust, flavorful but not salty and a good amount of fresh toppings! First time I've had pizza and oil didn't drip down my arm, so happy!! We were seated within 15 minutes which was spectacular since there was a line out the door. Only reason I couldn't give five stars is the space is bare to none but the ambiance is cute: rustic Italian. This is the pizza restaurant affiliated with Il Pacioccone. There was a queue already at 12:00 pm. I got mine to go. Maybe 12 seats in the tiny place. I would give the pizza 5 stars but the service and entire process losses me with their inefficiency. One lady taking orders, serving, busting tables paying the checks. Frankly I don't think they care. It apparently is never not totally packed and if it wasn't rainy and cold there are a couple of tables outside where the lineup waited shivering cold. I don't honk it's her fault. You literally need a skinny Italian waitress to do all this multitasking. No room for a team of people. There is no pre made anything. They hand make each pie and can only fit maybe 3-4 in the oven at once. Mine was the spicy sausage. Actually surprising hot still in my 8 min walk back to hotel. Apparently locals knew what I had, and smiled knowingly upon sighting the box. It's not sliced, but fortunately in the lounge area I scored cutlery as well as beer to wash it all down. I meant to save some for #1 son, who was allegedly at a museum on his way back. But got busy FaceTiming etc and looked down and saw an empty box. You know it's good when you eat the crust which bubbles up on the edge when baking and has no toppings. Not the same as the warm bread at the sister pasta restaurant, but it's obvious these people know their way around flour water eggs and oil. read more

Best pizza hands down, I have traveled to Italy and I can compare this place with authentic Italian pizza. It is very tasty, staff very friendly, the owner gave me a strong hand shake, only on type of wine but great. The pizzas are large so an appetizer and a pizza is enough for two people. The crust is very tasty and the ingredients are simple and as fresh as they can get. It is located in the Red District and a little difficult to find, but if you use the Yelp app you will get there.
