After an overnight flight from the States, didn't want to go out for dinner. Pizza Heart is located about 100 yards from our hotel, the Albus. It was rated #1, so we decided to get takeout. We now add our vote for favorite. Walked in and ordered the Margherita Pizza with onion. It was fast, convenient and, oh the taste, was marvelous. Thin crust, just the right amount of sauce, plenty of cheese, basil and sautéed onion. It was excellent! If ever in Amsterdam again, Pizza Heart can count on another visit from us! read more

This is a hole in the wall, one man operation. He doesn't speak much English or Dutch, but speaks pizza very eloquently. Thin crusted and cooked quickly in a wood burning oven, the pizzas come out hot and delicious. read more

This little place creates and serves some of the best thin crust pizza anywhere. It is almost as good as the best NY pizza that you have to wait in line for an hour to get. The crust is perfect, the sauce is perfect and the amount of sauce and cheese are in perfect balance. The pizza is just delicious. There are just a few tables inside and some more outside. I was in Amsterdam with my mom and sister-in-law after traveling in Scandanavia for a couple weeks. We were craving something familiar as we neared the end of the journey and decided to grab pizza for dinner one night. Of, course I went straight to Yelp to see what was nearby and on the way to where we were going. That's how we came upon Pizza Heart, and boy were we happy we did. The staff here was awesome, after they noticed us staring at their menu board with blank faces they asked if we wanted to look at an English menu. They have a lot of great speciatly pizzas and a great selection of toppings without being overwhelming. Their pizza's come in two sizes, so we ordered two of the smaller ones to share between the three of us and it was perfect. We ordered one pizza that was similar to a margherita pizza and the Pizza Combinata. They were both delicious, but the Pizza Combinata blew all of us away. It is topped with a tomato sauce, sauteed mushrooms. cheese and salami. Even now as I'm describing it, I'm wishing I could have one. We loved it so much that we came back the next night and got it again. The fresh ingredients, quality, and use of a clay oven definitely come through in the taste here. Now, if only I could get pizza from them here in California...... read more

I tagged along to Amsterdam for J's work trip earlier this month and the majority of my time was spent either wandering the canals or eating. Had I not seen this place on Yelp I likely would not have stopped in but I'm so glad I did. They seem to mostly cater for a takeaway crowd but there are a few tables for those who prefer to dine in. Pizza Heart clearly cares about quality. We ordered two pizzas (quick delivery) and I wondered what was in the two separate foil packages that came with the order. Arugula was sent separately in the foil so that it wouldn't arrive wilted on the pizzas! The crust is thin and deliciously chewy. Incredible find in Amsterdam and open until 1am. This inclusive vegan restaurant offers pizza for vegans and non-vegans. The vegan choices were incredible and so delicious! Great pizza! My husband LOVES pizza to the point that when we lived in Auckland he would drive 30-40 minutes to Sal's as he loved it so much! In London I'd recommend Friezza. New York Pizza doesn't quite cut it but Pizza Heart had some great recommendations. I'm so glad we gave this a go. It was the best delivered pizza we have tried in Amsterdam they deliver late too and you can also order wine, beer or Ben and Jerry's ice cream I had the pizza Appetitosa which had mozerella, Gorgonzola, Parma ham and fresh cherry tomatoes. The base was a real crusty fresh one. It was good and I'd have it again. Mine was better than my husband's. He had the pizza 4 stagioni which had mushroom. Both were good. Not a bad spot to dine in, even though most people prefer to order delivery pizzas here as, as could be seen by the delivery guys coming in and out while we were there. There is enough seating inside for a quick meal. The pizzas come in 2 sizes, which is great because you can have a meal without having to take leftovers home. The owner is really friendly and welcoming, and even offered to improvise the bruschetta pizza for us. I also tried the zucchini-aubergines pizza, although for reason unknown I had a hard time finding any zucchini on it. The oven is indeed wood-fired. I thought the pizzas were alright. Definitely nothing very different from all the touristy pizza spots in the vicinity. I guess my opinion would be different if I were hungry late in the evening and my only other option was a snack bar that delivered stake pizzas. read more

After Pizza Heart in IJburg snubbed me and wouldn't deliver to me anymore in city center because I was suddenly "too far away" after a year of not being "too far away", I took my pain and consoled myself by ordering from their Reguliersdwars location. But they were closed for renovations for months! Woe was me! After much wailing and gnashing of teeth, their city center location finally re-opened and I have been re-connected to my go-to pizza supplier in time of need. I can't even eat anything from Domino's anymore, because this place has spoiled me for it. My favorite pizza is the marinara, with extra cheese and sauce, because it comes with no cheese by default, and extra sauce brings it up to the sauce level I was used to in Chicago. I usually specify this in the comment box on their website or on the thuisbezorgd app, but sometimes they don't read the comments and I get a pizza without extra anything. :( In cases when I really want to make sure they acknowledge my special requests, I call in my order. But one time when they didn't fulfill my extra sauce and cheese request I called them and they sent me another pizza free of charge with the extra sauce and cheese, so I'm glad they were willing to do something to make it right. I have also tried their pepperoni pizza, which is good but it comes with red bell peppers strewn about it, which is confusing. It's still good, but weird. Their pizza hawaii makes a good dessert pizza. And the pizza with bacon, dates, and goat cheese is a wonderful sweet treat, hot or cold. That's the other thing about Pizza Heart pizza, is that it's also delicious the next day cold out of the fridge, and that's the ultimate test of pizza. And their desserts are tasty too. Solid pizza place with a blend of traditional Italian with a pinch of NY. I say that because the crust is ever so slightly thicker but it also holds everything together better. The center doesn't turn to slop. I would say 90% italian, 10% NY. In some ways, it is just what is needed. read more

When we tried calling to tell them we could not order online because everything was in Dutch and no translation was available, they just talked over us and kept saying "order online, GOODBYE" over and over again, then hung up 3 times!! QUICK AND DELICIOUS PIZZA. It was late at night @the hotel and we didn't want to waste money on room service, so we had pizza delivered instead. Found this gem through the yelp app. The pizza (ordered the "Pizza Exxentricia") was similar to how it is made in Italy (thin crust and clay oven-baked). It was flavourful, but rather expensive for its tiny size. We also ordered their tira misu for dessert and it was good as well. It arrived within 30 minutes upon ordering. I was skeptical, but we were also hungry. And it was late. And we were at home. And we didn't want to cook. Did I mention we were hungry? :) My hopes were lifted when I saw a vegan pizza on the menu (the "bruschetta" pizza on a whole wheat crust). I ordered it and another one specifying 'no cheese' on the online order form (bitcoin accepted!). I didn't really watch the clock, but it seemed like less than half an hour before the phone rang. I stepped out and the delivery guy handed me the warm boxes. I know cash isn't what most people use here, but I usually tip with cash out of habit. I know that if I was the delivery person I would prefer it... Pizzas were fresh, warm, and delicious, and all of my crazy vegan requests were fulfilled. I normally don't get calzones because they're huge, but this place had a mini option so I figured why not. Most of the time when I get calzones they're all dough, not much filling. So its a saturday night and hungry and tired. There is no food to order in the hotel (Best Western Laide square). Ge said to call the local pizza. I called this store because its so close to the hotel and has amazing reviews and I can finally try non-California pizza. Well Im very disappointed... I Tried to order over the phone and the guy i spoke with on a saturday night at feb/22/16 2355 was denying my attempt to order. He also said I was too far away to deliver, even even though I didnt say where i was located...i felt like he probably thought Im a tourist...we are idiots or schemers or something (i dont really believe ppl here are mean...its so far ny top favorite friendliest country ive been to so far). anyways I just want them to take my order. He should have just asked for my credit card and to take my money (pls) so i can try your good quality reviewed pizza on Yelp. So far ALL te food here was amazing besides the Pho @Saigon. It was very bland and watery...they mess up orders...california wins in Pho...we have the BEST pho hands down in San Gabriel area. The best snack foods here is the Street Market (best chicken wings and the store next to it has the best meatballs). Best french fries...if In-N-Out served your countries fries they would start in the stock market and it will be the next Google. Best Pizza in Amsterdam for a quick little spot or even to sit down and eat! You watch them make the pizza right in front of you! But the best part was the customer service. The chef and the store employees were so sweet and helpful. They let us charge our phones and they showed us transportation routes. They treated us tourist so genuine. They chatted with us as if we were guest at their dinner table. The food was absolutely delicious and the restaurant is cute and small! I recommend this place for sure. Amazing food, great service, fun location! We looked on yelp for a pizza place that was close to where we were staying, and found this place that had 5 stars. It was new, so it only had 4 reviews. We thought we would take a chance and check it out- and I'm really happy that we did. It's situated close to the canals, and there are a couple of bars around, so we had a lot of entertainment while we ate. It was drizzling, but the outdoor seating was covered so we were still able to enjoy the outdoors. They have a great selection of different pizzas. We ordered a large Pizza Parigina to split between 2 people. It was perfect, we weren't too full or hungry by the end. The arugula and Parma ham were fresh, and the crust was golden brown and baked to perfection. The two men working there were very delightful, and were receptive to our every need.
