Taking up the 8th floor of that building is their spacious waiting room, quality facilities & friendly personnel. It's a much easier Sentara location for the diagnostics they offer because of the adjoining parking garage with easy access to the elevator. Step out of the elevator onto the 8th floor and you will immediately find, to the right, the Diagnostic Center entrance doors. There is no weather or long walking lot issues to bother you. The only negative is that the results don't usually come through on your MyChart App until the next day. They send Blood Work across the street to the hospital for processing. Blood Work done at the hospitals, such as Leigh, are sometimes available on MyChart shortly after returning home. It's pretty amazing. The Building is located on the south side of Brambleton Avenue. Turn left on Colley, right on Southampton then right on Riverview. The parking garage is on the back side of the building (from Brambleton). Don't forget to get you parking ticket validated so it's free.

When you step off the elevator from the garage, the center is located immediately to your right. This is a full-service diagnostic center. They offer laboratory services, radiology, imaging, mammography, ultrasound and more. I appreciate the convenience especially since my doctor is located on the same floor of the building. I always appreciate the consistent minimal wait times. I am always in and out quickly, I don't think I've ever been there more than fifteen minutes. Employees in the front and those in the back are always friendly and efficient. They are competent and appear to enjoy their jobs. Don't forget to have them validate your parking ticket so you don't have to pay when you exit the garage.

If you're a regular at doctors located in the River Pavilion at Sentara Norfolk you'll notice…read morechanges. The outer lobby now has security metal detectors that one has to walk through to access the inner lobby. Most of the Sentara Hospital have added them. The inner security facilities have also changed. You are routed to the desk backing up to the south side of the lobby. Previously, being a patient, I would just tell them I was going to the EVMS office, which is on the same level facing the lobby. Now I have to have my Drivers License scanned and a name tag with my picture scanned to it. This was previously only required for visitors. I don't know what's caused this increase in security procedures. But I'm happy with it if it makes everyone safe.

Sent us to collections over a bill that was paid the SAME DAY as the service. They never reached…read moreout to us via mail or electronically over the bill, just sent the PAID bill to collections. I only found out when I received the collections letter. It took 4 phone calls to find out the person who took the payment at the time 'coded' it wrong. The issue didn't seem to get resolved until the 4th phone call and I'm not sure at this point it is resolved. I will still follow up to make sure the $205 bill from collections is discharged. Who pays for my time? Nobody. I was told they would follow up with us. They didn't. But I'll keep pushing since clearly I care the most. It's unbelievable how much work I've had to go through to prove to THEM, we paid a bill. I've never seen such incompetence and multiple points of failure in a business department.
