It would have been nice to receive the services I came for. I first tried to get a DOT drug screening for work. Apparently after 5p they stop on Friday so I was told at 5:03p come back Saturday 8-2p only to find out that nobody was there to do the test. It'd be nice to know in advance so the proper information can be communicated to find another location. I'd advise anyone call ahead to save your time. especially if you are out of the area. read more

Can't speak highly enough of the Dr and the staff at AFC. I was in/out in less than an hour and that included paperwork, checkin, X-ray and consulting. Dr. Navarro and the x-ray tech went above and beyond to ensure all my questions were answered to ensure I left without concerns. We even got in some chuckles despite my injury. The staff was friendly and the clinic was clean and well maintained. My new go to for speedy, knowledgeable and great medical care. read more

On 7/16/2025 my daughter was having multiple panics attacks and suffering from depression. As I was out of town I told her to come to this facility(Norfolk). Once there she was under the care of Andrew Lorpa. The one that works in Chesapeake now. Instead of assistance Andrew kept bringing up STIs and questioning if that's a reason for her panic attacks. She told him she has a hx of panic attacks but that this was out of control. Andrew DID NOTHING BUT BRING UP STIs. So she did a full panel. Andrew then comes in and tells her nothing is wrong with her bc she doesn't have an STI. When he left the room she heard Andrew speak with the nurse that he was working with in a area with multiple patients and staff members and says" Nothing is wrong with her" my daughter then hears the nurse laugh and make a HIV comment. She felt targeted due to the fact that she is a young black woman. He didn't take her health needs serious and used stereotypes instead of taking her mental health needs the point of care. She does have DEPRESSSION. But what if it was fear of a STI is that the care that AFC gives to their pts? She went to your clinic for care!! NOT TO BE TARGETED AND HER HEALTH DISRESPECTED DUE TO HER RACE. How many don't get tested for STIs or get mental health help bc they feel judged or targeted. And I can give more information if needed. But you will not have to worry about anyone I know volunteering getting disrespected. read more

I highly recommend AFC Urgent Care Norfolk. I had what I thought was an ear wax build up but it did not get better after using an ear wax removal for two days, so I looked to see what my available options were on a Sunday for a Dr. Visit. My insurance company, Humana, recommended AFC Urgent Care as my visit would be covered with a $10.00 co-pay. I made the appointment on line-which I recommend-had my appointment and arrived on time. From beginning to end everyone was efficient and cared. I saw the PA Chisola Sherman who explained I did not have any ear wax but had an infection that was spreading and would not improve without an antibiotic-she answered my questions and called in a Rx for an antibiotic. It was worth the trip. (now if only Walgreens was as efficient since after three hours it was still not filled) This was certainly a better choice than heading to Sentara Norfolk's ER. read more

First I want to say the music here is fire!! But kinda suck on the day that I came there wasn't an X-ray tech. But that's expected it's a X-ray tech shortage apparently. Before even coming I had googled searched for an urgent care close by as I didn't like the one I went to before finding this place -- the front desk woman, I wish I could remember her name but my mind was more focused on the pain I felt, was amazing. She answered my questions as to if I can be seen and if my insurance covers it (the last place billed me and not my insurance because they didn't take that insurance but didn't tell me before hand) and assured me I could take my kids with me. When I got there, she welcomed me and was very nice! I honestly only waited about 10 minutes before I was called into the back, the medical assistant/nurse was really sweet and caring. And when I saw the nurse practitioner, she actually took the time to listen to my problem, checked me out, and prescribed me something I needed to help with the pain and swelling. If I ever need to be seen again, this is the place to go to! read more

Right before bedtime my daughter (3.5yrs) started screaming and crying about her ear. She's never cried like that before so I got her and her baby brother in the car and rushed to this urgent care. It was one of the best experiences. I ran in to see if they took our insurance and saw children and they had me fill out the registration paperwork in the comfort of our car. When I was done they immediately got us into a room with a nurse (who was SO kind and wonderful!) and the Nurse Practitioner (who was also so great!) was in maybe five minutes after that. While we waited they brought us water and were so kind to my children talking to them about the characters on their shoes and how good they were doing. They helped me find the pharmacy that was going to be open after 7:30pm. We got there at 6:50 and we were home before 7:30 even after picking up my daughters antibiotics. Y'all seriously for as awful as I thought this night was going to be I was so blown away by the compassion, knowledge, speed and cleanliness of this office. read more
