I've been in Labels a few times, both in their old location and this current one. I have to agree with the previous reviewer on one point; their clothing does seem to generally skew towards an older clientele. They do appear to have a good selection of brand name jeans, but as I have a very particular body type, the designer brands just don't fit me right. I do have an unfortunate love of pricey designer bags, and this is where I've had good luck with Labels. Yes, you'll be getting a bag from previous seasons, but I got a terrific Michael Kors purse, looked brand new, for $50, which is a great deal. So, I continue to stop in every once in awhile just to check out the purse selection. I'd also check here if I needed a new business suit, because they usually have a good selection of those as well; however, you might get one for a similar price if you catch a good sale at Macy's. I've had mixed results on service. Sometimes, I'm immediately greeted and offered a drink, other times I've wandered through unacknowledged. I'm usually pretty casually dressed, so I think it's more a reflection of who is working on a particular day than how you are dressed. read more

I gave this business 3 stars because they have a great selection. I'm a thriftier and I ran a high end consignment boutique in a very prominent area in southern Ca. So I'm not new to this.. a few of their prices were overpriced. They had pieces that were $5/10 on poshmark for $30/40. Just to gauge the pricing. I ended of buying a few dresses and a romper for $300 the retail was around maybe $600. So I feel like I made some good choices. Anyway after returning back to my room I put my items in the closet at the hotel and ended up forgetting them there. to my dismay I called about 30 mins out and they were not there. Someone had stole them. I called Labels to ask for receipt info pics of items or anything else that could help submit a claim with the hotel. And the owner was very snobbish and nonchalant about helping me with my request. which is fine however when I was spending my money the attitude was very different. So I'll NEVER return here. And hopefully if you're into genuine customer service YOU WONT EITHER! read more

I am a local writer. My niche is shopping, fashion, beauty and lifestyle. Consequently, I shop and patronize many Reno boutiques and businesses. It is my business to be familiar with their business. I am writing this review in response to the unfavorable review written by another in a prior post. In my opinion, Blythe, Robbie, Linda, Carmen and the other gals at Labels Consignment Boutique embody all that is good with shopping in today's very casual and lax climate. These woman are known for their excellent service, professionalism, and one-on-one attention to customers and product. Many of the women have worked at Labels Consignment Boutique for 15 years or more. They take pride and ownership in their store. Anyone who shops here, knows this. I have never witnessed or experienced a sense of superiority or snobbiness...and I cannot, for the life of me, imagine the "owner", Blythe, staring someone down or giving them a dirty look. or snub. Blythe would be foolish to do that (and Blythe is not a foolish woman). Rather, she is a very savvy, smart businesswoman in economically treacherous times...she needs people to walk through her front door...she would not, for a moment, treat whoever crosses that threshold in anything less than a welcoming, glad-you-came, attitude. It's not her style. Labels is a high end, name brand and couture consignment boutique...they are not trying to appear as anything other than what they are... otherwise the word "consignment" would not be in use. I went here last weekend while scoping out possible places for a Thrifty Lady's Shopping Day in Reno. My two teenaged daughters and I were welcomed and offered assistance numerous times. Bonnie was especially helpful. I think some of the reviews here on Yelp have been a little harsh. Yes, some things are expensive $1200 Louboutins, (close to retail at Neiman Marcus), but also $40 Coach Boots (well below retail). This is a spot the you need an hour or two to shop, try things on, and evaluate the value of your purchases. It might be hit and miss from trip to trip, who knows? I don't think the owner is trying to offend people with her pricing, however. I'm definitely taking my gal pals here. It will be fun for all. read more

Seller beware, you will only receive a fraction of the item's value, new or not. The good: - They will cut you a check on the spot for your sold items. - Staff was friendly enough The bad: - You have to contact them to find if your items sold or not - They can/will lower the price of the item (without your knowing) if not selling. This might have been in the contract and we just missed it but it is still a bad tactic. They lowered one of our very high dollar items' price by 20%!! We would have rather had it returned to us. From a buyer's perspective I'm sure it would rate higher, since they do have quality goods at a decent price, but to receive nearly nothing for our high dollar items was disappointing. Labels introduced me to consignment shopping and made it absolutely fabulous. When I graduated, I needed to look smart on a tiny little budget. Enter Labels, specifically the ladies of Labels. As a college student, I didn't know a lot about what was good quality, what to look for and what was worth paying for. I owe my quality clothing education to Labels. I would come in after work or on a weekend, and the gals behind the counter would make suggestions, "how about this dress or this suit", "it can go with this or that." They knew me so well. I built up a gorgeous work wardrobe and no one ever would have thought I was shopping second hand. They would make alteration appointments for me and called me when they had new items they thought I would like. Their service was always impeccable. I went to job interviews in a suit from Labels and I regularly appeared in court in clothes from Labels. Looking good is half the battle and I looked fabulous! I don't get back to Reno as often as I would like but Blythe and her whole crew are just amazing and I always stop in to find something incredible. read more

So I found out about this boutique by Yelping shops around the casino we were staying at and also got directions from the Reno Visitors Center, so all the info was helpful on getting me there. It started snowing on our way there, and by the time we got there I was freezing. As soon as we stepped in we were greeted and asked if we would like some water or tea. So friendly and warm from the get go. So many great designer pieces to choose from, all organized and beautifully displayed. They were having a sale so I knew I wasn't leaving empty handed. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable. I also had my three year old son with me, which didn't seem to be a problem at all. Walked out with two lovely blouses and signed up for their mailing list (if they ever go online I will definitely purchase from them) if and when we come back to Reno, will come back and shop here for sure! read more

I live out of town, and every time I am in Reno we have to go to Labels. I love the diverse selection of clothing, along with their reasonable prices for the quality of cloths. Their dress section is extensive and I can always find something for a school dance. Every time I go there the people in the shop are nothing but nice, and we are always greeted with a range of drink options. This is the best consignment store I have ever been too. What a cute, sophisticated boutique! I remember reading some previous Yelp reviews awhile back in which people claimed that the clothing here is outdated, overpriced, and for the "older" crowd. Also, some yelpers said that the staff was stuffy, pretentious and rude. I really didn't find that to be the case when I visited Labels. They offer a wide selection of high-end, well-constructed garments in a variety of styles that can appeal to women in any stage of life. I think that's a pretty impressive accomplishment, and whomever does their purchasing has a great eye! Many women's clothing stores tend to be polarized- sexy, cute, fun stuff for women in their 20's, and then mature, boring, matronly clothes for those of us that have crossed that age threshold. On my particular visit, I was a little bummed to find that most sizes of the items I really liked were sample sizes (2-6). However, the team at Labels is constantly bringing in new merchandise, so I think that finding more popular sizes (e.g. 8-12) might be easier if you come in the day after they receive new merchandise. Personally, a designer label means nothing to me. I am far more interested in quality craftsmanship than branding. I don't care to advertise for brands with my clothing. But if you're passionate about Chanel, Michael Kors, A|X, or whoever, you will be VERY happy with the gems you can find at Labels! I found the staff here to be very friendly, stylish and down-to-earth, and I appreciate that they offer you water/tea/etc. while you peruse their well-organized racks. They have really cute accessories here too! It all just depends on your budget and what you perceive "value" to be. I feel like some things are significantly overpriced (hey, you've gotta make a profit to stay in business), and others, while still an investment for a used item, are much more reasonably priced. This is not a complaint (like I said, branding means nothing to me), just an observation. It's all in the eye of the beholder and is completely subjective. I had the pleasure of selling with Labels. It was recommended to me by a co worker in Incline (I live in Tahoe) so I made my way to Reno. I had a purse and put it up for consignment. After several months I called in and found that it was sold! (I don't mind not getting that call like other seller here stated, it's easy enough to call in and check,) I was ok with leaving my item there and forgetting about it so I was happy to know it sold. When I first went in to consign, it was a nice interaction with their staffs. (I was surprised! Sometimes you get the pretentious attitude or whatever) but they were so inviting and great customer service throughout all their employees! I enjoyed it! They make you feel good! Terrible Service and Ridiculously Overpriced Used Clothes and Accessories - don't waste your time or your money. I have heard all kinds of stories about this place over the years but thought I would take my out of town friend there anyway. Everything is priced far higher than you can find new clothing and accessories for at Macy's and Dillard's. It is in a run down section of downtown Reno surrounded by bums and low end casinos. Do not go there after dark. The owner and her employees sat at the front gossiping and giggling and completely ignored my friend and I. I love Labels. I needed to find a dress to wear for a special event and the girls working were very helpful. I ordinarily would not spend over a hundred dollars on a used dress but the one they found for me fit perfectly and was exactly what I needed. I wear a size 10 and was also happy to see they had various sizes available instead of just size 0,2, or 4. I will definitely shop there again. read more

I agree with the reviewer that said many people do go over the hill for the best brand name bargains, but it's still great having this little piece if shopping heaven right here in Reno. Both ladies that were working today were very nice and helpful, the selection had something for ALL ages, and I thought the prices were on track if you consider the regular retail price at Dillards, Bloomingdales, or Nordstrom and practically new condition everything is in (a fraction of new retail, even on clearance) Example: LAMB cage booties $84-they would have been mine if they were just a little shorter! My mind wasn't really in shopping mode, more like browsing and curious mode, but I still left with a cute pair of Michael Kors pumps for $28. If I hadn't already done plenty of damage to my shopping budget in Gilroy last week, I would have definitely left with at least one purse. I've found that Labels Consignment Boutique now on W 1st St. in Reno is the go-to-place for outstanding designer handbags, gorgeous Special Occasion Wear, Prom Dresses, Jeans, unique accessories such as high end Antique Designer Costume Jewelry and much much more - all at fantastic prices. Oh, and the store itself is drop-dead gorgeous. How special to be greeted with at least 300 petunias surrounding an art nouveau style building. Step inside and it's a feast for the eyes: lovely chandeliers, animal print carpet and wood floors, floor to ceiling windows, enormous mirrors with gorgeous ornate frames - all tastefully done. This is my absolute favorite place to shop!!! My closet is filled with beautiful, designer clothes that I would never have tried on in a regular store, paid full price for or owned. Labels has allowed me to up-grade my wardrobe in such an elegant manner. I have Chanel, Escada, Armani, St. John, Dolce and Gabbana, Theory, Tory Burch etc. Blythe and the other gals at Labels are so incredibly friendly and helpful. I love to go with my daughters, my friends or my mom. We spend hours trying on clothes. Just like all thrift or consignment shops, it is good to spend some time looking and trying on different things. We never feel rushed and they don't mind the number of clothes that we gather to try on. Labels also sells incredible handbags, hats, jewelry, shoes and jeans. The jeans are a particularly good deal as many of the jeans retail at around $200.00+ and at Labels those same jeans, that look new, cost about $25.00.
