Do not come to this place if you are Vietnamese or want to try Vietnamese food. And the prices are crazy even for Paris. Just like the French, we Vietnamese are selective about our food, especially what i gredients go with what dish. From my experience and looking at the pictures here on Yelp, this restaurant uses the same combination of herbs for almost all the dishes, which indicates a complete lack of understanding of Vietnamese food. They used mùi gai and rau răm, two herbs with VERY STRONG smell in almost all the dishes, from Hanoi Pho (which is absolutely a no no) to Bun thit nuong. Ask any Vietnamese and they will tell you they have never had mùi gai and rau răm in their bún tht nng. It's just wrong and totally overwhelmed and covered other flavors of the dish. Now talking about my specific experience at this restaurant. Husband and I ordered imperial rolls, bun bo Hue, and bun thit nuong. The imperial rolls took A Long Time to come out and they were actually good and full but the fish sauce was too sour. Let me tell you that I love sour taste and I put lemon/vinegar in a lot of things but this dipping was way too sour even for me. It didn't have the balance of sweet and tanginess that Vietnamese food is famous for. The rest of our food took about 45 minutes to come out eventhough the restaurant was not even crowded. Their bun bo Hue tasted nothing like bun bo Hue. It also came with only beef and missed the rest of the ingredients. There was no smell of mam ruoc, lemongrass, or the spiciness of sate'. My bun thit nuong (vermicelli noodles with grilled meat and imperial roll) came out without any vermicelli!? I had to ask the waiter (who was nice btw) to confirm if the food was made correctly. Again, the dipping sauce for the dish was too sour, I had to ask for sugar to balance out the taste. I'm from Ha Noi btw and we don't use a lot of sugar in our food but I had to ask for sugar because the dish was so sour. On top of that the herb combination for the dish was completely wrong, which was such a waste because the meat actually tasted great. Main course, I believe was at least 16-18 Euros for a small portion. Appertizers were around 13-50 Euros. They charged 29 Euro for papaya salad eventhough one green papaya, which makes 2-3 dishses, cost around 3-5 Euros in Paris. Doesn't make sense when the food doesn't even taste good. We ate out throughout our trip to Paris and even at the nicest restaurant, no salad dishes cost about 30 Euros. Our best meal in Paris, the entree was a 20 Euros beef bourguignon & 3 sides and it came with such big portion that was enough for both myself and my husband. So do yourself a favor and skip this restaurant. You are not missing out. read more

I'm just lucky I speak Vietnamese because the entire menu is in French, but the staff and owner are more than happy to recommend food (the owner speaks English as well)..I'm going back for dinner tomorrow, second review to follow! The broth was so rich, so full of seafood goodness and the chef uses FRESH CRAB to make this base. The attention to detail, the desire to keep the flavors truly Vietnamese, I can't find any place in America where the chef is so proud of her craft. I told her this evening that you can taste the love she pours in to her cooking,I was not just pumping her ego. We searched for a Vietnamese restaurant because the wife was craving some. The location is out of the way but worth it. The food was authentic and good. We ordered the pho and bun bo hue, both authentic Vietnamese noodle soups. Both were good. The surprise was salt and pepper fried squid. Alright so in Paris for the week and trying to grab a late night snack after a full day of walking around the entire city. Wanted something close to the hotel and was craving some Asian food as I wanted something spicy to kick it up a notch from all the buttery deliciousness within the city. After a bit of searching, was able to stumble upon this place as the nearest and highest rating destination to attempt. The place is pretty unassuming from the outside and I almost walked by the joint itself. After walking into the joint, was promptly greeted by the folks moving around the restaurant and seated right afterwards with menu in hand. The owner did seem friendly although we only talked for a brief second and most of our interactions were with the server themselves. I think it is safe to warn many people visiting Paris that Asian food is incredibly overpriced in comparison to what you can find in the states. This place is no different and they did in fact seem a bit more overpriced than I had expected for the limited amount we had ordered. We had decided on one bowl of pho and an appetizer as we were not looking to eat a tremendous amount of food but even the total of these two were much higher by around double than what we could find in the states. The food itself was ok and had traditional Asian flavors but nothing about it screamed at me as unique. The one thing I was a bit caught off guard was when the server heard my order, he almost waited for me to order more and when I didn't proceed, he asked a few more times if we should order more while showing signs of unhappiness that we did not do so. We found this place via Yelp! The four of us were quickly seated at the front of the house without a reservation on a Friday night. Having parents born in Vietnam meant they wasted no time in looking for their favorites. We ordered the Lemongrass Soup (Spicy Thai style), Pho, fried rice (I'm guessing it was a house one - as it's name got lost in translation), fried calamari w/ lime, salt & pepper and a bottle of a red blend. The food came out fairly quickly and by the rating, you can tell how satisfied we were with our first meal in Paris. What puts Lac-Hong above the 4 star mark was not only the quality of the food but meeting the woman behind the hard work in the kitchen. As we left the restaurant, she came out to ask my parents about their experience at her restaurant and you can tell she cooks with her heart. She explains how her passion for food has allowed her to cook each meal as if she were serving her own family, not taking any shortcuts with the quality of her ingredients. This! This restaurant! Amazing food-the Vietnamese Crepe specialty, Beef Spring Roll and Pho suggested by the owner were absolutely delicious. Thank goodness she came out to visit and suggested the perfect dinner. Started with the roll which was so fresh and the beef delicately but lightly flavored and spiced. The crepe was probably not something we would have ordered but it was the of the dinner. Light, crispy, full of mingled flavors... We didn't want to finish it and have it end. But then came the Pho! I am Vietnamese-American, and my parents have cooked authentic vietnamese food for me my entire life. So trust me when I know when the food is made with quality and love or made for the mass with a bunch of MSG to make up for the quantity. This restaurant reminds me of my moms cooking!! It was soo good, reminded me of home away from home. The owner/chef greeted us with a very warm welcome. We asked her for recommendations on what to order, she replied, "Trust me, and you won't be disappointed." So we decided to roll the dice. First - the appetizers. Fresh spring rolls with home made sauces. With a blink of an eye, they were all gone. Next up, the main dishes - Bánh Hōi thit heo tôm núöng grilled with charcoal filled with super fresh green lettuces, cucumbers and Vietnamese mints. They smell great, they looked good and they tasted just delicious. The fish sauce was so unique that enhanced the overall flavor. We also asked for Pho dac biet and Hu Tieu and they tasted just like home made with no MSG just pure authentic. In Summary: 2 stars for the service and 2.5 for the food. Not worth a trek out there, definitely a tourist trap. The food is average at best, especially for the price, and the service was terrible. You can get the same quality or BETTER food in the states...and no, you don't have to be in Cali or Houston. Your local Vietnamese restaurant will do and you'd pay a lot less for it too. Service: Previous Yelp reviews recommended to make a reservation since the restaurant "filled up quick" and is "busy". We made a reservations for 10:15 pm (only reservation left online) and the restaurant closed at 11 pm. We Arrived at 10:15, restaurant was more than half empty (only 4 other tables besides ours) and they sat us at the smallest/most uncomfortable table possible, a 2 seater right across from the fish tank. We were surrounded by empty 2-seater tables far more roomier than ours. Not soon after sitting down and getting the menus (I kid you not, literally 2 minutes later), the waiter comes by and asks if we were ready to order. We told him we needed a few more minutes and tried to ask him a questions about the menu. The response we got was, "its late and the kitchen needs to close so you need to order". If you wanted to close earlier than your posted 11 PM closing time, then don't allow customers to make reservations for anything past 10 PM or earlier. Heck, don't seat us at all if your intention is to shoo us out asap. The other 4 tables were not new tables and already had a few items on their tables. And yes, we did end up leaving the restaurant before their closing time of 11 PM. Food: We wanted to order the seafood soup that everyone raved about in the previous reviews. When we asked about it, the waiter said they don't serve it anymore (maybe they ran out, but he certainly didn't offer any other explanation or recommendation). So we quickly ordered the pho, beef spring rolls, and grilled quail so he wouldn't get even more irritated with us. The pho came out almost immediately. Bowl was very small for the price, soup was luke warm and broth was bland with very minimal topping of any kind (meat or vegetables). The beef spring rolls came out a few minutes later. These was the tastiest out of the 3 dishes. Would recommend getting this. The grilled quail didn't come out till 20 minutes after the spring rolls. So one of us sat there waiting for the quail while the other had been done eating. Once it came out, the quail was seasoned nicely. Let me start off by saying this was some of the most amazing Vietnamese food I have ever had. I am a huge fan of Pho and the one I had tonight was by far the most flavorful one I had ever had. The secret is always in the broth and chef-owner Tuyet (aka Snow) has the most fragrant and flavorful one I have ever had. She takes the extra step to oversee all of her staff in every aspect of food prep and service. She is a true gem that cooks with love and passion. This comes through in all of the dishes I enjoyed while there. We started off with some of her recommended favorites and I can truly see why they come so highly recommended. The spring rolls are fully stuffed with all the fragrant and fresh herbs that make Vietnamese food so tasty. From there we moved onto the stuffed crab. Wow this is normally a dish I wouldn't think to order but I am so happy I did. This came out hot from the oven, perfectly browned and presented beautifully in a shell. Large portions of real crab meat with succulent vegetables seasoned to perfection. From there we had the Vietnamese pancake. I trusted Tuyet's recommendation and again was sent into food nirvana. Juicy shrimp and charred onions filled this over stuffed light and crispy pancake. The spicy vinegar sauce was a must and complemented the dish perfectly. I am a huge fan of spice so I asked for some spicy peppers. She brought out a beautiful fresh orange chili paste that added just the right amount of heat and some great pepper flavor. After every dish was served Snow came out to see what we thought and to ensure that everything was to our liking. Talk about personal and thoughtful service. She was so warm and welcoming and truly wanted our honest opinions on everything. I valued her commitment to providing an unforgettable meal and experience. We are in Paris for our honeymoon and heard that Vietnamese food in Paris is worth a try. Came to this restaurant and we were surprised to find this elegant Vietnamese cuisine. We ordered pho, bun rieu, egg rolls(nem) and brochette de beouf. Bun rieu was definitely with real crab that's why the soup has a good seafood flavor, unlike most places who just uses canned crab. Pho was really good too and the beef was tender and soup was clean(not fatty) and strong. Brochette de beouf was great as well though we wished there were more beef served. Being raised in a traditional Vietnamese home in California where many would argue some of the best Vietnamese cooks have migrated to, Paris hosts a shop that has some of the best Vietnamese food you will ever have. On a quiet street not too far from our hotel lies Lac Hong, an amazing jewel that reminds me of home. We arrived just after it opened without a reservation and were welcomed with smiles and superior customer service. The owner came out to greet us and was very attentive to our needs. The wait staff was exemplary and always made sure we were doing well. As I review the food, please keep in mind my Vietnamese heritage and nothing beats mom's cooking. But man Lac Hong is definitely on the same level or possibly be better! (Sorry mom) Food: We ordered the Vietnamese Crepe, beef spring roll, pho and ended with Vietnamese iced coffee. We started off with the crepe. It was crispy and not burnt and the filling was everything you would expect. The bed of vegetables it laid on was super fresh and when you dip it in the fish sauce (which I always scrutinize because mom's is best) was absolutely amazing. Definitely reminded me of mom's cooking and rightfully so because the owner treats all her customers like her own. It's hard to pick a single item that was better than the other, but if I had a pick one thing, I would choose the beef spring rolls! Typically we get tons of vegetables, rice noodles and other fillers but Lac Hong does it like my mom: a spring roll with tons of meat! And it was marinated with lemon grass and gives it such a delightful aroma! Seriously, I could eat these all day it was so good! Pho was super legit. You can tell it was done right and cooked for hours on end. The stock had the perfect balance and the meat was so tender it fell apart on my chop sticks. Mom always said a bowl of pho should stay hot, even after you're done eating. Mine was still steaming when I was done! The noodles were cooked perfectly and you can tell the bowl had a lot of love put into it. The Vietnamese coffee was also delish, I think. We ordered two cups and my wife ended up taking my cup. Oh, and she doesn't drink coffee! All jokes aside, the coffee was amazing! There is a strong Vietnamese community in Paris and if you are in town, you should definitely visit Lac Hong. I've always had a tradition to try out a local Pho Restaurant every city I visit and naturally I would search for the best. This place came up on several different sites and had to give it a shot! It was tucked away in a little area that wasn't that hard to find, but definitely somewhere you have to walk to. Food: 5/5 Amazing. Very authentic. Coming from a vietnamese family myself, this food felt like a home cooked meal. We order the Pho (or Pho Tai, rare beef) and the Spring rolls (cha goi). Both were perfectly cooked and prepared and the presentation was excellent. Service: 5/5. Being Canadian, naturally we speak English, and they catered to that the best they could. I actually found that the owner, who comes to talk to you during the meal to have the best english. Thankfully I speak French and enough Vietnamese to order exactly what I wanted and how I wanted it. The owner was extremely nice and takes time to explain her recipe and soup. You can truly feel that she stands proudly behind her cooking and is confident in the results to justify the price. Price: 4.5/5 To be quite honest, its fair for where you are in the world. Don't forget that we are in Paris, where simple Cheese Burgers can cost 15 euros.. and back at home, a burger and pho roughly cost the same. With this logic, its pretty 'norma' to justify that the pho is 15-16 euro. Although it is almost three times the price at home, its Paris, and things are expensive, so its important to understand this before making the rating. Presentation: 4.5/5 Overall I loved the atmosphere, decor, and presentation of the plates/food/utensils etc. The small things I would change is to bring that 'Vietnamese" feeling back to this place. I would: put the Sweet Hoisin sauce and Hot sauce out for people that have the pho; Put the mint, onion and lemon toppings on a seperate plate and DO NOT serve it with the pho (some people, like my finacee, don't like as much of it and would rather savor the taste of the soup and not have as much onions and mint mixed into her soup, this would allow her to add the amount she wants); beansprouts? wo gai? (some traditional veggies were absent and can enhance the flavors of an otherwise perfect soup. Side comment: Having sat beside someone from the UK as well, it may benefit to have a french and english menu. Highly valuable! Overall: 5/5. This place felt like I was back in a fancy 70s/80s high end restaurant in Saigon! There are only a few things I would change and the first would be to put the Vietnamese names of the food on the menu! French people can easily read the language as it was derived from French, but it teaches locals to learn what the actual dishes are called and the explanations and names can be in french! Pho Tai, is Pho Tai to every Vietnamese person, anywhere around the world, it would be amazing to spread this knowledge to the people that WILL LOVE THIS PLACE BECAUSE ITS THAT GOOD! I would say this is a must try, but expect to pay around 20-25 euro a person to fill up. Found this place since it was down the street from our place in Paris. Small and quaint little place. We walked in around noon on a Saturday. Place seemed like it was just opened so there was no patrons yet. The owner greeted us and was very nice. We wanted to purchase the food for take away but she said her food was more enjoyable if we ate there. However, we could not eat at the restaurant. She was very disappointed because she was afraid her food would not taste as good if it wasn't presented well. But she ended up accommodating our group but said to make sure to let her know whether her food was good. Price wise, I'm from California so the Vietnamese food there is cheaper in comparison. However, considering that this is Paris, and omelet with bread is $15, I did not think the price was that much higher than other foods. And, there is just something very comforting about being able to find good Vietnamese food when traveling. You can only eat so much bread and pate. We had the eggrolls. It was very good. Not too greasy and lots of flavor. The stuffing inside was definitely of quality. For my entree, I had the bun rieu. Large pieces of rieu and it was sour just enough where I did not need to squeeze in a lemon. The only thing is there wasn't much broth since we took it to go. I FOUND THE MOST AUTHENTIC VIETNAMESE FOOD IN PARIS!! Being half Vietnamese, I need my weekly bowl of Pho no matter where I travel. I found Lac Hong from a review online and raced there before closing time! The second we walked in the door we were treated like family by the owner and her staff. Even though it was close to closing time, Madame Tuyet (owner/chef and my new auntie) and her staff took their time to make us comfortable. I ordered the Hanoi Soup beef pho to start and just like my auntie or mom would do, Madame Tuyet said we were to have her Vietnamese Pancake (Banh Xeo) as well. This is coincidentally one of my favorite dishes and I have it wherever I can find it. AMAZING! The best I have ever had! The Pho was also delicious as well so of course...I must try more dishes! I went with the usuals,Spring Rolls with Shrimp (Goi Cuon) and the Fried Spring Rolls (Cha Gio). This all accompanied by the must have Vietnamese iced coffee (Ca Phe Da). What merits the 5 star rating is the entire experience of my time at Lac Hong. It is clear how great I thought the food is but the warmth and care of the service from Madame Tuyet and her staff were priceless. The Vietnamese food here is amazing and I'll tell you why. Firstly, this place seems unassuming from the outside so it's easy to miss if you drive or walk by (which is a great reason why you should consult Yelp reviews). This is a family owned business and the owner & chef will create your food from scratch. She won't just take pre-cooked noodles or shrimp or vegetables out of the refrigerator for speed, but she will individually wash and prepare each ingredient. That's why the food tastes so good. Sure, if there is a crowd, the food might take a little longer, but not any longer than at a higher priced restaurant. My friends, you *want* the chef to take her time and make you the perfect meal. The other great thing about this restaurant is that, to be honest, We couldn't read the menu because we can't read French. But the owner speaks English and Vietnamese. She asked us what we wanted and I asked her what was on the menu, and she said she'll make whatever we wanted. Of course I had to test this claim, so I asked for some of the more exotic Vietnamese dishes including Bun Rieu, Bun Bo Hue, and Banh Xeo. She made them all! This place was fantastic and the best food within a few block of this area. I stayed here for a week and tried every restaurant. Tonight I ate the best Vietnamese food of my life... I don't say that lightly. I've had a lot of it. We started with some wine and beer. I am not a wine kind of guy so I can't really speak to the wine offerings but the Bordeaux we had and the menu options seemed fine to me. I am a beer guy. I chose the Saigon lager which paired very nicely with everything I ate. I am happy there was a true Vietnamese beer choice available. For the entrées / appetizers we chose the mixed meat dumplings and beef summer rolls. The summer rolls were superb with fresh ingredients and VERY tasty beef. The dumplings were a little over fried and a bit too crunchy for my liking, but the ingredients within were very good. For the main courses we chose the imperial shrimp, curried chicken and grilled pigeon. We ordered vegetable fried rice (not sure that was on the menu?). We asked for the rice and shrimp to be extra spicy. I tried Pigeon for the first time in my life and I was blown away. I was very apprehensive about the pigeon but after having it prepared by "Snow", owner and chef of Lac Hong, I found myself wanting to roam the streets of Paris hunting pigeon to throw on the grill! The shrimp was perfect and the accompanied capsicum/bell peppers and other vegetables were perfectly cooked. I seriously couldn't have asked for better. The vegetable fried rice was phenomenal!!! I can't decide if it or the pigeon was my favorite! We asked for it spicy and we were pleased! I also added some extra chili paste which further enhanced the flavor. The spice was perfect. It was flavorful yet hot enough to develop a mild sweat on the top of your head. If you're a spice connoisseur then you should be able to relate to what I'm talking about. The heat to flavor ratio was perfect. I added the chili paste after I finished half the dish to send my heat receptors into overboard. :) I actually didn't try the curried chicken but my wife says it was also phenomenal. She was extremely pleased that the meat was dark meat and was very fresh. She could tell it was freshly cut from the bone. For dessert we had a lot of options but unfortunately the items we wanted weren't available. However, we chose coconut cake and banana donuts for desert. The deserts were nothing like the names they were given. The coconut cakes had a texture that was out of this world good. They are not very sweet, but yet sweet enough. I love this style of desert. I don't care for desserts laden with sugar. The banana donuts were kind of like bananas tempura. Fried and served very hot. They were sprinkled with sugar. Exceptionally good and I enjoyed them over the coconut cake, though they did not have near the fun texture as the donuts. Snow took the time to come out and ask us about the meal and spent a considerable amount of time talking with us about where we come from, the food, her passion for food and life. She had a relationship with each customer at he restaurant. She even gave a home remedy to a regular customer who had a cold. She's a very caring and passionate woman. My husband and I came here looking for an Asian food fix when we were in the Champs Elysses area since we needed a break from European food. I think coming from San Jose and having grown up with good authentic Vietnamese food, I came in with too high of expectations. I thought the taste of the pho tai was adequate for satisfying our craving, but nothing compared to the flavorful broths and tender cuts of meat back home. For the price (about $15-16) and small bowl size, I probably would have skipped it. Thank you to the yelpers who posted pictures of the vermicelli salad bowl with egg rolls as I struggled with the all-French menu and was simply able to point to my phone when ordering. That dish was also good enough for me. I think as long as you readjust your expectations and remember you are in Paris, this can be a suitable place when you are homesick for Asian food. read more

Went totally out of my way to try this place for dinner. I had read reviews that it was pricey but didn't think much of it. HOLY CRAP, it's robbery. I ordered the bo bun (€21) and the shrimp papaya salad (€28!!!!) yes, I could see the prices before ordering but I was convinced it would be amazing. I specifically asked for "sans coriandre" since I absolutely abhor the flavor. The server definitely took note but Of course it ended up in my dishes and I had ordered takeaway so by the time I got home it was too late to do anything about it. So major points off not honoring to my request, but the Bo bun was way too salty and I'm sure some people would enjoy the papaya salad but I forced myself to eat some since it was so expensive but chucked the rest. So I read a couple of reviews and decided to go visit. I had just read that it was expensive and took €100 I ordered 2 starters and 2 main and it was €75. I was like huh? But I paid to reserve my dignity lol. Got home and tried the first starter: beef spring roll €16 each. Delicious and satisfying. I don't have room for the main course or the other starter. I am sitting here willing myself to eat more than I can stomach but trying to remember tomorrow is another day. I met snow, she was so nice and welcoming. It was like I had gone to visit family. She came out of the kitchen with 2 bits of fried chicken and practically popped them in my mouth. I felt at home. I envied her grandkids. This place isn't cheap, the decor and packaging of the food doesn't match the price tag but the taste is a treat you have to give yourself. Coming from the United States I didn't know what to expect from this place. I was very pleasantly surprise how excellent the food here is. The pho broth is simply amazing. The quality of the ingredient is superb. I dare anyone challenge me in saying this is not the best pho broth ever. The owner is a sweetheart and knows how to satisfy with here meticulous attention to detail. I had to write this review because I want to share this hidden gem with everyone. Let me first say this - the food is incredible. I recently went on a trip to Hanoi, Vietnam and had the most wonderful and memorable pho. I live in the New York area and tried to find a Vietnamese restaurant in NY that could compare to the one in Hanoi. Sadly I could not. Until I came to Paris.... Lac Hong is located in a relatively quiet neighborhood in Paris and when we first walked in, my wife and I were warmly greeted by chef/owner. She has a wonderful personality but better yet, her cooking exceeds her personality. We ordered the fried egg rolls (spring rolls) and summer (shrimp) rolls, and both these dishes were truly savory and delicious. But then the pho came out. It was INCREDIBLE. I kid you not. The best pho I have had since Vietnam and in some ways better (the quality of meat was better than in Vietnam). The broth was savory and had many depths of flavor to it. My wife and I were blown away... figuratively and literally. After the meal, the owner chatted with us for a bit and I promised I would write a review. Truly incredible food experience. I know tourists come to Paris for the French food but I will guarantee that anyone who comes to Lac Hong will truly have a wonderful dining experience. read more

I'm still kicking my behind for not reading yelp carefully before coming to this restaurant. We just wanted some hot Vietnamese noodle soup as our body is weak from jet lag. This is definitely a tourist trap, mostly cater to American tourists. The owner came and greeted us in English only, even though we had local French friends came with us. My local friend called before we came, he spoke French fluently, but was surprised when they responded in English. Should have realized problem then, but we were all tired from traveling. The food is average at best, but the price is outrageous. A small bowl noodle soup is 16 euro, broth was bland with minimal meat or vegetables. Servers were friendly but definitely did not explain the menu well. We also got food that supposed to eat with rice, and was never suggested to order rice. read more

Paris is the last stop on an almost three week stay across Europe and like others mentioned we were tired of French, Italian and similar cuisines. We love Vietnamese pho and being from LA where you can find pho every fifth or sixth block, we were looking forward to finding a great spot in Paris to compare to our favorites back home. Look no further than this place. I found it on yelp and read the favorable reviews. Everything the previous reviewers said was true. To start we were wondering how our conversational French would hold up in a Vietnamese restaurant off the beaten path and not in a typically tourist location. When we arrived my French was good enough to get a table, menus and drinks going. When I asked for menus in English (they don't have them) the waiter sent out the owner who speaks English. She asked us what we liked and if we had eaten Vietnamese before. We already had our favorites and told her. She nodded and said she would bring our favorites and then she suggested some other dishes to try and we did. The pho was excellent. The beef salad. Best ever. The spring rolls ( both the fried version and rice paper wrapped version ) were really the best we've ever had. She came out to check on us and make sure we were enjoying the meal. Everything was perfectly timed and we were made to feel like guests in her home instead of an unfamiliar restaurant. She asked us to come back again before we left Paris and she would make us all new dishes. Really friendly service and decent food but small portions and definitely overpriced--even for Paris. My friend and I ordered the crab appetizer (I honestly have no idea what its actually name is--we only ordered it because the owner gave such a strong recommendation for it) and the pho. We initially found the crab appetizer sort of strange, but in the end, it grew on us (though I still think I prefer my crab prepared more traditionally). The soup was delicious and just the right price (since we've been paying way more for dinner every other night we've been here!) The chef came out to greet us and instantly wanted our feedback.
