SkyTrain sounds like a designer drug you'd see in a dystopian Sci-fi movie, but the only high this Skytrain gave me was the feeling of ease, when going from the airport to my hotel in downtown Vancouver. I wish they made public transportation that was this smooth all over the US and not just major cities. This train runs all over Vancouver and its outliers cities and is the preferred mode of transportation by locals. The maps are easy to figure out and there's no need to purchase a day pass. If you're just doing one or two quick trips. You can just tap your credit card on the entry turnstile and kaboom... you're cruising on the SkyTrain. Ready to chase the dragon called life? Then prepare to get lifted on the SkyTrain.

Yelp Review 2023 #247:…read more I've used the SkyTrain in Vancouver to get to/from the airport using the Canada Line which takes about 30 minutes to the Waterfront Station when I'm staying at hotels nearby. From the airport, just follow the signs to SkyTrain. You'll have to go outside, cross the street, take 2-3 escalators to get to the station. There are kiosks you can use to purchase a pass/ ticket. You can pay with cash or card. And there's always a SkyTrain employee nearby should you need assistance. There's a train every 10 minutes. I've never had an issue using the SkyTrain. The times I've used it, the train was clean. There's free wifi onboard and space for luggage. There's a USB port under the window next to your seat so you can charge your phone. Be sure not to throw away your ticket as sometimes somebody checks for them. I've used the SkyTrain to get to Yaletown and Broadway and that's about it (outside of the airport and Waterfront).

Although I try to beg and negotiate. There are no TRAINS in service today. I normally go to my work, church meetings and other appointments thru train (with my scooter with me) I did try to explain that this is my only way to go to places thru a train and they know that there is no train services today. I TRY TO NEGOTIATE TO ATTEND OUR CHURCH ACTIVITY TODAY ): One translink personnel said I have to call translink and see if they allow me and point me to a sticker with a number. "Really at this very moment that I am running late to our church activity?" I beg the driver if only they can give me a chance as I have no other way to go and i dont have sufficient money in my bank to ride an uber. Uber cost 80- 100$ to go there. The 3rd driver told me that it is not their worries and I have to ride a taxi or uber. (GOD' sake.) How rude and heartless!!!!!!!! Buses drivers R591 between 5:15 to 6:30PM. PLEASE TRANSLINK AUTHORITY. DO SOMETHING ON THIS. WE ARE NOT ALL SAME like others who got PRIVILEDGE HERE TO HAVE A PERSONAL TRANSPORT and CAR AND HAVE LOTS OF MONEY TO RIDE A TAXI O UBER. I did research that in Queensland it is allowed as long as it gets folded.

It is in Fare Zone 2 and has side platforms, so doors open on the right. The station was completed in 1985 and received an extensive remodel/rebuild in 2012 when it opened as part of the Shops at New West center. Shops at New West has restaurants, supermarket, a cinema and lots of retail spending opportunities. There is a bus stop here with connections on a dozen or so lines. Escalators and elevators are here as the station is fully handicapped accessible. It is above ground and somewhat protected from the elements. But this is Canada, so if it's cold outside then it's cold on the platform. [Review 20887 overall - 63 in British Columbia - 1871 of 2023.]

The place consists mostly of small businesses, with easy SkyTrain platform access. There's a bit of everything in there, such as banks and fast food. There's even a supermarket (Safeway) attached. My favourite part is the caged (suicide-proof) bridge that crosses over the tracks. Great for watching the trains go by while reflecting on life.

They've renovated the station in recent years to include more escalators, which drastically improves the pedestrian flow. However, the really not-so-good part is that they didn't reconnect the sky bridge that used to link the station with Metropolis. Heard it was some dispute between the City and the owners of Metropolis. Now everyone is forced to cross Central at street level, which makes life a lot more difficult. Knock 1 star off.

Except there aren't really any breweries here (other than ABC which is closer to Braid station). The old Labatt brewery is long gone and replaced by condo towers. The one thing that sticks out is that there is a nice elevated bridge that goes over Brunette, such that one isn't forced to go all the way down to street level then forced to walk all the way back up the hill, which I'm sure makes life much easier for some. The platform itself has this funky wheel sculpture. Wonder if it actually spins. Too bad it's between the platforms in a restricted area. Can't check it out without getting zapped or arrested. The other thing that is a bit weird (not sure if this applies to other stations) is that at night, one entire platform shuts down. In other words, trains use the same platform for both directions, despite what the "regular" signage says. The only way to know what's going on is to look at the screens on the platform and ignore the signage.
