But the best thing that ever happen to me to jump start my career as a knowledgeable funeral director /embalmer was getting my start in a family run funeral home. Even though I was not part of the family, they took me under their wing. Learned from the best in the business, a family of morticians that have been doing it for over 130 years the right way. I would not reccommend any person of color to use this Mortuary…read more I had the worst experience. Coming from out of state to plan a homegoing celebration for my aunt. The first thing I was met with was "Is there any Insurance?" How are you going to pay for this? I had only been in town for a couple of hours, not enough time to look for any paperwork. I wasnt shown a pricelist or offered condolences. While waiting for other relatives to arrive I was called several times (6) in the same day to inquire about the money for the service. The director was very rude, three a tantrum when asked if we could see a pricelist, quoted the law but couldnt produce it in writing, didnt allow us to give any input on the preparation of the body. We wanted our own hairdresser who was experienced to do her hair, she didnt wear make up but she looked artificial when we saw her. We werent allowed to view the body beforehand, we had to wait until the remains were put in the church an hour before services. I tried to speak to Mr Warco(Sr) at the church and he literally yelled and screamed that He had nothing to say to me because I upset his staff the day before by asking to view the body.I woildnt reccommend them to anyone.

They go far above and beyond especially in: Compassion, quality, & exceptional value for the price. Compassion: they help you through the planning and implementation process. The little details like the prayer verses on the cards are so ideal for the loved one, it will bring a tear of love to your eye. Everyone on the staff is so kind, caring, and exemplary in the mission of helping the family through this transition. Quality: the home is beautifully decorated, and they arrange floral and photos of the loved one. It's little touches and well appointed attention to all the aspects of care that stand out. From ushers to open doors to beautiful cars & hearse. Value: no corners are cut yet at the same time, they 'don't empty your 'bank account'. Their offering and services are fair price, in fact you get more for your money than you would have imagined. By far the services from McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home set the bar high by comparison to many other arrangements I've had to make for loved ones in recent years outside of this area. My family had a terrible experience with the services provided by the William G Neal Funeral Home…read moreat 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA. The staff lacked professionalism, organization, and the presentation of my sister's body was grotesque. I no longer trust this establishment, nor will I ever recommend their services. My sister's face was very badly distorted, too much cotton or fillers were used, she appeared angry, her head was tilted down and barely on the pillow. There was foundation on her face, but no blush or color on her cheeks. Her arms were at the side of her body, but extended unnecessarily touching the edges of the casket. Makeup on her hands extended about 4 inches unevenly up the wrist, very pink in color, and contrasted very sharply with her tan arms. The professionalism of the staff was appalling. When the funeral home was notified, the individuals who answered the call did not listen attentively to the responses given and repeated questions, while abruptly interrupting and shutting down the responses given. An employee, holding the door, motioned his hand to 2 young ladies entering the building and said, "Hurry up! I'm holding the door for you." However, the staff did not open the door for many visitors. It was necessary to request seating for several individuals standing for the service. Arranging the funeral procession to the cemetery was a display of disorganized buffoonery. The employees at Neals have always been very courteous, and anticipated the needs of the family. In August 2022 a new partnership with Rollings Funeral Services was established, unfortunately, it does not provide the service we have been accustomed to and expect from Neal's. When you are faced with a difficult situation such as the death of a loved one, it can be extremely emotional and stressful. You want to be able to trust the professionals at the funeral home to provide you with the care and service of your loved one.

He then proceeded to not even show up at the viewing because he said he had a migraine. I called him later and he said he missed the viewing because he was at home looking for the ring. Why would the ring be at his house? The greeter went into his office trying to help us find the ring and pulled out a large bag of jewelery. You can make your own assumptions about that. Still no ring, no empathy, and he added extra charges onto the bill. If you choose this funeral home lock your car doors and good luck.

Yes there is a stair lift but thinks about getting, perhaps, 25+ people up the stairs on this lift which is slow and after going up must come back down to get another person - HOURS. Next there is only one bathroom for 25+ people. The caterer that the funeral home recommended did a "drop and run" (Elegant Tents and Catering). Their All-Inclusive package did not include anything to drink. So what is All-Inclusive???? The family of the deceased is usually not able to remember "everything" and All-Inclusive should mean everything!!!! that an event would/should need. Also there was no employee of Elegant Tents in this room on arrival which meant some attendees were left to open all the food items. What if there was a problem??? Who to call??? We were later told by the funeral home that an employee would have been an additional charge. (Remember All-Inclusive). And when we were cleaning up what did we find but a hot box that contained two additional trays of Chicken Parmesan. Who was supposed to know this??? My opinion as well as others that attended this funeral was that Elegant Tents Catering really falls short In doing what they are paid to do. Kapr Funeral really does not think about funeral attendees but just want to rent this most undesirable room to unsuspecting people and prey on the grieving. Buyer Beware.

Dr. Francis Julius LeMoyne suggested that cremation was the healthiest and safest alternative to burial and the potential outbreak of disease from buried bodies. So he built this and it was originally intended to be for his own personal use and three years later when he died, he was the third person to be cremated here. His ashes are buried on the site along with a memorial. The building is quite simple. Too simple for such a solemn occasion, if you'd ask the people who were around at the time that believed cremation is inhumane or un-Christian. The one story building is only about 30 feet wide and contains just two rooms: a preparation and viewing room and the actual furnace. The most important innovation was that it was built such that the fires never actually touched the body. Stop by, see, and perhaps appreciate this innovation. His public health concerns regarding decomposing bodies led him to promote the building of the first crematory in the United States. The first cremation was in December of 1876. It's a simple building by design, and a testament to this forward thinking man. You can see a small monument that contains Lemoyne's remains. It's all rather small and simple, but definitely worth seeing.

He and an associate showed up in a timely manner to pick up my father in law and was very professional and well dressed. We had an initial meeting that evening then a followup the next day with more details and pricing. Once the viewings and funeral were done he delivered anything that belonged to us that afternoon and went over in detail everything that he delivered and everything he had done on our behalf. I have had very few dealings with funeral homes but I am 100% confident in the abilities of this one. They paid for everything for us and billed us one total. Everything went perfectly.
