His team installed my transfer switch back in 2016 and it has worked perfectly with my generator through the all too frequent power outages we get in our area. The design for the transfer switch was simple, effective, and pretty much foolproof. Exactly what I was looking for. Today we had another power outage and when I switched off my trusty generator and back to the grid, we had flickering then dim lights and electrical appliances that wouldn't work properly. Called John late at night and he promptly returned my call and explained the possible causes - probably a problem with the electricity supplier not turning the power back on "all the way". Turns out, he was right, and a few hours later my high voltage appliances worked fine again. They say you don't want to take any chances with electricity or wiring. On a cold Saturday afternoon, I had a serious (furnace-stopping) problem, and found these guys on Yelp. Their electrician Pete heard the symptoms and told me it was very likely to be outside the house and I should call National Grid first. Since the house had some -- but flickering -- power I thought otherwise. Pete COULD have just come to the house, charged me for the visit, and then, er, sent me back to NGrid. Instead, he gave me his mobile number and said if they didn't resolve the problem I could call him at any hour and he's come deal with it. Since the problem WAS outside the house, NGrid fixed it within a couple hours, and I didn't have to pay for an unnecessary house call. So, I have no direct experience with their abilities, but (a) I know they can do a good diagnoses and (b) they're honest!

During this time, we have relied on Chaput Electric LLC which is owned and operated by Bill Chaput for multiple jobs. This past week, Bill's team came to our property to install 65' of underground wiring for an exterior project necessitating electrical service. Two team members named Adam and Tim called me the morning of our scheduled appointment confirming they were slightly ahead of schedule asking if it was okay to arrive early (that was welcomed news). Upon arrival, these two gentlemen were extremely polite and very professional. They worked efficiently completing all the necessary services within the prescribed timeframe. Once completed, Adam asked me to come out so he could show me what was completed and walk me through all of their work.
