If you are reading this review and looking for an electrician than you are one more step away from meeting and getting the best contractor you will ever hire. Nick the owner of Nexos Electric is by far the hardest working, most honest and dedicated professional in his field. Coming from Philadelphia, and from a family in real estate, I can say that in my entire 36 years I've never met a more knowledgable, meticulous, and fair contractor. Now doing this restoration in RI and having met so many contractors, Nick's work ethic and relationship building has set the bar so so high that I almost want to keep finding him electrical work at the house just to keep him all to ourselves. I don't need to tell you what is involved in a restoration of an old Victorian in Edgewood. The hardest part is the electrical work. Nick was so accommodating. He would meet with National Grid, Verizon and city inspectors at the house to ensure a smooth installation process and work with our pace for the remodel. Every wire, every socket, every panel, plus new recessed lighting, and moving the service outside was brought up to code. Not a single issue at inspection. He is so good at what he does that he even has the foresight to tell you what you need and goes out of his way to do it before you even realize you needed it done. I whole heartedly recommend Nick for any project, big or small and no matter how hard, he is the most competent. He takes the task and delivers with quality and puts in the time and does not cut a single corner like many try to do by speeding through a job and skimping on material to increase their bottom line. By the end of any job with Nick your going to want to give him a tip as much as he charges. He is that good and thorough. He not only becomes your expert electrician, but also a friend. We were so lucky to find Naxos electric!! We were in the middle of a bathroom renovation nightmere and needed an electrician to repair some incorrectly installed bathroom sockets. We called Nick, once we explained our situation he was at our home the next day! He rewired the electrical sockets in the bathroom, running new wires from the basement to my level two bathroom. He took the time to discuss where the best place would be for the sockets offering aesthetically appealing as well as functional options. I just got my electrical panel replaced. Nick did a wonderful job from start to finish. He came out early on Sat. 7am and diagnosed the situation. He tried to seek out an inexpensive alternative for me so I didn't have to pay a lot. He was unable to find the part so the whole panel had to be replaced. This was done in a timely manner, he is very knowledgeable about electrical matters, professional, and very kind. Price very reasonable and he left the job nice and clean. Aside from the fact that my lights are working now, I want to say how much I appreciate Nick's professionalism and prompt attention to my problem. The power outage was in an office area that I needed access to for work in the evening and Nick (hearing the desperation in my voice) moved his schedule around and was willing to come to my home 90 minutes later. Third, they actually do schedule these appointments and maintain communication via email, texts, etc. This is a marked improvement over the guy you can barely hear in the middle of a job who never calls you back. Fourth, the electrician who came was competent, timely, and flexible (he came a day earlier than scheduled). Other reviewers here and elsewhere have complained about costs. I had no issues whatsoever. The price was reasonable for the electrical work he wound up doing. He explained some parts of the electrical system that I didn't understand and clarified that I didn't need any extra work done. Obviously I appreciated that candor. He was also a pretty good dude, easy to relate/talk to, and I always prefer dealing with friendly contractors than sour ones. So in sum, this is a professional outfit and what I've come to expect in the 21st century, with an office staff, scheduling software, and prompt, helpful specialists--but sadly it's something I don't often find in the world of contracting.

Mike McBurney is a one-man electrician. He answers his own phone, usually by you leaving a…read morevoicemail that his message says he'll return within 24 hours - and he calls you back within that time frame. I had several tasks to do to update bathroom lighting from the 1950's. Mike was able to come give me an estimate within days of me calling - he came over on his lunch break from another job to see my current situation. He scheduled a visit to do the job on the very tight schedule I had. My project required him to switch out an ancient ceiling light/fan/heat unit and the old circle switch for an updated button-type switch, remove old "eyeball" recessed lights to replace them with newer LEDs, and divide the eyeballs and the vanity lights from one to two switches (the new ones are much brighter, so I wanted an option to turn on one set of lights without the other) and replace an old outlet with a GFI. The work required Mike to look behind my recessed medicine cabinet to find how the current set-up was done. Since I'm replacing the cabinet, he also helped me box up the old one and bring it to the street for my trash collection. Mike noticed that not only did he need to add the switch but to change out the existing mercury one to something more up to code. The work was done neatly, quickly, and at a great price! All during the Phase 1 reopening afre COVID-19, so it was done with Mike wearing a mask and being attentive to social distancing as much as possible given the small footprint of my bathroom and my narrow doorway into the place.
