My mom and I went here for lunch during the week and this place was just amazing. We loved the food, the service, and the ambiance of the restaurant. There were only a few people there, the restaurant was spotless, and this restaurant can definitely be a spot for birthdays, dates, or a nice lunch. We both ordered their blackened chicken Alfredo pasta for lunch. We asked for extra blackened and it came out perfectly. The portions are large and the food was delicious. I changed my pasta type to angel hair and my mom kept the original penne pasta it comes with. They also give complimentary chips and salsa to guests. The service was amazing. I recently went to have lunch. I ordered the blackened chicken pasta in cream sauce with tomatoes, green onions and mushrooms. My dish was cooked to perfection very flavorful and a really nice portion served with garlic toast. It's my favorite dish on the menu but there are other menu items that are also great! including fried shrimp, fish,crawfish, chicken fried steak, hamburger steak,salads. Top it all off with dessert. This was our first time here. We were greeted by the friendly hostess and was seated promptly. Our server, Candy, was very friendly. We got the nachos and salsa quickly. You enter and are seated, then you get your chips and salsa. No, this is not a Mexican restaurant, but nevertheless you get chips and salsa. They are pretty good chips and salsa! The menu includes a variety of South Louisiana specialties. These include lots of seafood options and of course Po-Boys. The selection of sides is quite good, I really enjoy their Smothered Potatoes! They have nice lunch specials as well, I often get their Hamburger Steak. The food and service both speak for themselves. I've always had a good meal when I've stoped here. Not that I had to pay the bill, but the blackened catfish was more than good for the price point. I truly enjoyed the dish... everything was perfectly seasoned and the service was exceptional. The young lady was knowledgeable of the menu and though she was working overtime with multiple tables with large parties...she was attentive, organized, and very kind. Mt family went to Lagniappe in Baker for a Pre-Father's Day meal. We had a party of 6 which included my paralyzed husband in a wheelchair. We ordered appetizers as well meals and beverages. We were constantly shooing flies while we were eating as well as a few gnats. Approximately a hour into our meal we were asked to move to another table which happened to be all the way across the restaurant. We were told that the staff forgot that a large group of people had reserved the section that they seated us in for a graduation celebration. My family and I had to pick up our plated food, utensils, and drinks to move across the restaurant, even though the celebration crowd had not come yet. This was an extreme inconvenience to pick up and hall everything , not to mention my husband in the wheelchair, all the way to the other side of the restaurant. When I got my bill I called for the manager. I expressed my dissatisfaction about our experience as well about that 20% tip that was put on our bill. The manager was apologetic and removed the tip from our bills. To wrap this up, the food was fair to ok. My son's steak was.not how he ordered it but chose to make the best of it. Great restaurant! I went there Sunday, I was the first customer for the day. I was seated quickly, my waitress was quick to bring chips and salsa to my table. It didn't take much time to bring the drinks to the table. She was a very nice and friendly waitress. The food was great, and came out very fast. I had grilled chicken with veggies and a side salad. My husband and I enjoy lunch there at least once each week. The service is excellent and the food is excellent when it comes to their seafood dishes. They have cooks at the Zachary location who know how to prepare and fry catfish and shrimp. It is so fresh, you can still hear the sizzle when your meal is served. The shrimp are large (3 bites per) and the catfish strips are fried to perfection. I would put a platter of their fried seafood against any other in the greater BR area. Their dinner salad is crisp and fresh. I am so addicted to their fried seafood, I haven't tried anything else. My husband has, and the portions are large. the dishes were incredibly dirty when i got my food and had to DIP THE FORK IN WATER just so i could have a better chance at not getting sick, they didn't even bother to clean any of the forks, knives or plates and it felt incredibly disgusting to eat off of. the wait time was actually insane, i waited about 30 minutes JUST FOR THEM TO GIVE US OUR DRINKS, and we got our food after around 2 hours. the place felt more like an old house than a restaurant, which would be a good thing if is wasn't so empty and lifeless, there's no music, or anything really interesting going on with the interior, it's simply bricks, a wall with blue paint, and a picture of a swamp here and there. the food wasn't the worst, the bread and mashed potatoes tasted like plastic, but the tilapia was pretty alright, nothing special obviously but still alright. read more

The restaurant was busy, but not crowded. We immediately were seated. However, our server took several minutes before she came for our drink order. It took several more minutes to get them served. Our food took awhile to come out, but I can't necessarily blame the server for that. She kept apologizing. She came around and said she was going to get refills, but that also took several minutes. Called the restaurant and they asked me to bring back up there. I informed them that I didn't live close and would not be coming back tonight and asked if I could bring it back tomorrow for lunch. I've had to change my review lately. This is a convenient place to meet up with friends, however the menu has not changed in a very long while. There is still a lot of fried foods on the menu and if you get anything grilled, or try to eat healthier there, make sure you ask for no shredded cheese on your salad and no cheese on your grilled chicken. I've had grilled fish which tastes like it has actually been in the same skillet as the fried fish--covered with grease and a heavy hand on the salt. A grilled piece of chicken tastes like it's fresh from the freezer and comes covered with cheese! I've tried it twice to make sure. The chicken meat is stringy. My husband likes to order rare steak. It's always come medium. Once of the staff wanted to argue with him that it was rare. The chicken chimichangas are good. My mother enjoyed her fried fish and says it it still light but my nephew's food had too much grease. The service is slower than it used to be and the parking lot is not as full as it used to be--perhaps for the reasons mentioned above. Lagniappe's sirloin is the best - we eat here quite regularly (approximately 3 times per month) especially when we are craving a good steak. Side salad is has always been fresh.
