    Bon voyage!

This lot is located at the end of Lagoon drive and is a parking haven for people relaxing in their cars/trucks and to also experience the magnificence of the planes landing and taking off at the airport. Beautiful drive along the lagoon. No restrooms, no shade or picnic tables.

Killing some tine while my car gets serviced.

There's pretty good views here but I'm usually just passing through. I assume sunrise is where it's at for this location. Usually when I get my car serviced at Aloha Kia Airport, I'll pack my folding bike and pedal out the here. The cool ocean breeze and scent of jet fuel. But really the sweeping panoramic is nice. But really good ride that's just long enough to get my 6 month multipoint check on my car.

Always lots of parking. Nice strip to walk or run.

I come here a lot when I just have to get away and breath , it's located at the very end of lagoon drive , please be advised , when coming here that parking anywhere other then the parking lot is prohibited and will get the attention of the sheriffs department , who frequent this area a lot , i come here when life on life's terms become unbearable and challenging.I find this spot to be so piece full and serene , watching the planes take off and land takes me away fc no I cut byDo do a try but c

Lagoon Drive parking lot. Good place to watch airplanes landing and departing.

Good place to watch airplanes especially on days when they approach the airport from downtown Honolulu. Weekends is the best time.

Located at the very end of Lagoon Drive, this lot is the only public parking lot you may park your vehicle in the area. This is a great spot to park your vehicle if you're here to run/jog the entire drive, to go fishing in the lagoon, to hang out, to eat your plate lunch, to sight see & even just to sit around and relax and watch the planes fly by. As a kid, my parents used to take my siblings and i here to watch the planes lift off and land. That tradition continues as i take my keikis here too.

Lagoon Drive Parking lot is one of my favorite spots to not only go walking, but also plane spotting and for aviation photography. The only problem with this place in terms of photography, is the fence. I realize it needs to be there, but it would be nice if there were a viewing platform. Many other airports on the mainland actually have sanctioned aviation photography/plane spotting areas that give us AvGeeks the views we want. The reason for this is in those airports, the AvGeeks receive some basic training and often assist the airport authority in keeping an eye out for suspicious persons or activities. Here in Hawaii? Nope. In fact, you have to get a permit to do so, or the Sheriffs chase you away. As for walking, the long, uninterrupted sidewalk on the makai side of the street is ideal for walking, jogging and running. It does get a bit crowded and the road resurfacing work certainly doesn't help, but I still love it.

Aviation photography can be super challenging, to say the least... The hardest part is probably finding a location where you can get close enough to "live" aircraft without breaking any laws. One of my favorite vantage points has to be this parking lot. With normal AOA ops in place, heavy aircraft will usually be using the Reef Runway or 8 Right as it's known as for departures. If the winds switch direction from the south, or as it's known, Kona winds, they will use this runway which will be known as 26 Left and land in the opposite direction. For those who are wondering how runways are designated, or numbered, the numbers stand for compass headings and R & L stand for right and left when there are parallel runways. So, 8R stands for 80 degrees compass heading. The right designation means it's the right hand runway since there are two parallel runway 8's. Thus, 8L means, the left of the two runways. This area also gives a nice vantage point to arriving aircraft using runways 4R, which will accommodate larger aircraft as well or 4L for smaller aircraft. During off hours, mainly between the hours of 7pm to 7am, arriving aircraft are routed offshore as to avoid flying over populated areas of the island. During these hours, most heavy aircraft are limited to runway 4R, but in certain circumstances, 8L can still be used by them for approaches at the pilot's discretion. Besides this lot, there are several other vantage points to get some great shots. Cell phone waiting lot on Aolele St gives photographers some great shots of planes departing from 8L. Bring a ladder you can stand on so you won't have to crop out the perimeter fence from your photos. Sand Island Boat Ramp is another good spot, but my recommendation is for you to have the right equipment. When out at the parking lot, capturing aircraft departing 8R, you can probably get away with using an 80- 200mm telephoto, and if you are using a DX format DSLR, you can utilize your camera's crop factor to get a larger image. But if shooting from the cell phone lot or Sand Island, you should use a 400mm or larger telephoto as it does a pretty good job of getting close up enough. Happy shooting and enjoy the view!

It's easy to turn into the parking coming from the South Street side than Punchbowl St and having to make the left turn into the parking lot. As you enter in, you would have to make a sharp right turn and go up the parking levels. The upper levels are for State employees of near by State offices. Stalls are not as wide. Now there's a parking pay station at the ground level. Be sure you get into parking lot before they close the door by 5pm. The parking lot is open to the public from 7am-5pm. There are posted instructions for General Public, Jurors and for Placard user. They changed it where they may not have a parking attendant. They just started this new pay system so it said bills and credit cards are accepted. It's a $2 per hour for the first 2 hours. $4 per hour for addition hours. Note parking on the street maybe a quarter for 5 or 10 minutes.

I had to get my information from Google, so I thought I would add this here. I received a summons for jury duty and one of my first questions was "where do I park?". Apparently there are two parking structures if you are going downtown for court-related matter (or otherwise). I was assigned to Circuit Court - Ka'ahumanu Hale (777 Punchbowl Street). If your summons says you are assigned to District Court - Kauikeaouli Hale, then you'd be parking at the municipal parking lots/street meters around downtown/Chinatown then getting a refund from the state before you leave the courthouse. The court also allows you to park on street metered parking, but instructions say do not feed the meters, and if you receive a citation for an expired meter violation, turn in your citation to the Jury Pool Office or mail it in the envelope provided by the court. To me this is humbug as I don't want to walk back to the Jury Pool Office when I am trying to leave or remember to have to mail it in. It's better to park in the structure, just come early for parking. Hours are from Mon-Fri, 700 AM - 500 PM. The South Street Parking Garage is on the left side of Pohukaina if you are coming down Punchbowl Street, and you have to cross over two solid-double yellow lines to get into the structure, don't do like I did and make a right into the Waterfront Parking Garage by mistake; luckily I was able to get out before I got charged. I got there exactly at 0653 and the gate opened up. As suggested by a Google reviewer, I backed into a stall so I could get out easier, and I wasn't holding anyone up as I got there early enough. I believe the first 4 floors are for public parking and the upper floors are reserved parking; it's not a very big structure so I can imagine running out of stalls early on. There's elevator and stair access to the courthouse. Once you get downstairs, stand in line to enter the courthouse, remove your belt buckle and put everything in a plastic bin, like the ones at TSA/airport. You go through a metal detector and then into the courthouse, then get ushered into the bottom floor office where you watch a video on being a potential juror and the day goes on from there. The jury pool office stamps your parking ticket for free validated parking, otherwise the rates are $2.00 for the first and second hour, and $2.00 for each additional 1/2 hour, but you may want to call to check to make sure this is correct. I also saw a Google review saying that it's CASH ONLY. Good luck! RETURN FACTOR: I got called two other times for jury duty selection but forgot where to park since it was like 20 and 17 years ago, but now I will come back to this page if I ever forget or get called back to duty.

I've been parking here for over a decade, as well as two other municipal parking garages in the area. Very easy to get here. Located on the right side of Bishop Street, both entrance and exit between 7-11 and Starbucks/Territorial Savings Bank, and another exit via South King St. It's definitely one of the most expensive rates in the CBD. But with gym validation, parking is only $1 Mon-Fri starting at 4:30pm, and Sat & Sun 6am-10pm for up to 3 hours. Every Federal Holiday, the rate is treated as a weekend. It's easily accessible via separate elevators into the Executive Centre Hotel with a set of escalators from street side down to the hotel lobby. Few negatives. No EV charging stations, many "Reserve" stalls on every level, so you may find yourself driving up to levels 6 & 7, cash only. Few positives, very clean facilities and elevators, wide parking spaces, security on site, and the nearest garage to 24 Hour Fitness. If you are parking here at night make sure you are aware of your surroundings, watch your back, females especially walk with a friend. Also Auntie working the exit booth is the best! So positive, spiritual, and full of Aloha! Make sure you treat her nicely, because she will remember you for life!

They put visitor parking all the way on the 9th floor, very clever if you are charging by time. You gotta go round (1) and round (2) and round (3) and round (4) and round (5) and round (6) and round (7) and round (8) and round (9) before you can use the first available stall. Then to get to 24 Hour, you gotta go down the elevator, walk through the lobby, go up the escalator then walk halfway down the block. THEN you gotta do all that shit again in reverse when you leave. What looks like a straightforward route on google maps is an $8 trap for 40 minutes of your car existing. Part of it is my fault since 24 Hour also doesnʻt validate till after 4:30pm, so donʻt be a fool like me and not do your due diligence. But there was too much design behind this trap not to be a glaring example of price gouging.

It's right across the street from the old Walmart. There's no attendant on duty so you take a ticket and upon exiting, scan your ticket & pay by card. The parking is still cheap even with the recent price increase. I paid $4 for under 2 1/2 hrs. The parking spaces are tight. Some are reserved for the City & County and the majority seems to be marked for compact cars. I do not drive a big car & usually do not have an issue parking in compact spaces but these spaces are ridiculous. With a little maneuvering, you can get your parked whether you back in or pull in. The problem lies in once you're parked, opening your car door & squeezing your way out without try to touch the other car with your door. The parking lot is lit but not bright so there are a lot of dark corners. There are 2 elevators, one for residents & the other one goes upstairs to the street & shops.
