I rented a unit from this storage facility from 2019-2024 and I have been absolutely pleased with this storage facility. I have rented with two other storage facilities before and at those other facilities I experienced rodent damage and droppings on my belongings, flooding and water damage, reported theft on the property, insect damage and spiderwebs on everything, excessive dust, the list goes on. I almost thought that was part of for the course with storage... so much so that I put all my furniture on palletts in case of flooding and covered everything in my unit with a tarp. Both these measures proved unnecessary because the husband and wife who own this facility keep it IMMACULATELY CLEAN. Prior to selecting this storage facility I wrote down a lengthy list of requirements in a facility to store my items in, as I was storing many vintage and sentimental items. It was highly important to me that rodent and insect damage would be unlikely, that my items would be damaged by flooding or leaky roofs, or that my items wouldn't be stolen (seems like bare minimum but you'd be surprised! ) I just vacated my unit today after five years and I found no water damage, no rodent or insect damage, and the only spiderwebs on my furniture were the ones I moved my furniture in with (proven by the ancient dog fur caught in the webs). Communication with this facility has also been excellent. Any rate changes to my monthly bill I always recieved both email and postal mail notices. Office hours are broad which means if I have any changes to my account, they're open when it's convenient for me to stop by. The couple who owns the facility live on site and the property has massive security... I never had to fear theft or damage. Staff have been friendly, expedient, and helpful 100% of the time that I've had to interact with them. I would strongly recommend this business if you need storage and the security and preserving the cleanliness of your items are your priority. There are cheaper options available in town if you're willing to go with companies whose storage facilities are notorious for pest/water damage. read more

I am a returning customer. Last time I rented a storage unit there was for 4 years. Never had to deal much with except for setting up and leaving. Always had personable, friendly customer service. The facility was very clean. Never had any issue with my belongings. So now I am back and have already discussed on phone with Sue. Great , like I remember. Of course, prices go up over time. I have nothing to compare to but for me trusting businesses can be an issue. I have here before with no problems so am looking forward with using Laguna Storage again. read more

I used this facility for a temporary storage while I moved from Ohio. The 3rd month I rented, my debit card was compromised so I called the office to let them know and Sue was SO VERY RUDE. I have never been late and I even called them to let them know about my current situation and was treated so poorly. When the bank finally sent my new debit card I called the office again and to my surprise Sue answered, as I proceeded to tell her my new debit card information, she once again was SO VERY RUDE. She was friendly, knowledgeable and SO helpful with everything. Moving is a major pain (who likes it anyway?!) and Noelle quickly got me to the right size unit and walked me over to the unit and I signed the paperwork lickety- split. Sue and Jerry were equally helpful and pleasant as my time for a storage unit was finished and had my paperwork and checked my unit in about 5 mins...such service! I don't do a lot of reviews but my mom and I came in needing a storage unit right away because she just moved to Elk Grove to be closer to my daughter. We were talking with the owner (male - didn't get his name) who quoted us a price for half of the first full month. We told him that we were only interested in doing 1 month. My mom planned to move her stuff out of the storage once she had her feet on the ground and settled into her apartment. He showed us the paper and we were on board with the idea. We toured the storage facility and were excited to get the unit. When he sat us down to speak with his wife (the other owner) to sign the paperwork he told her that we would only be doing the one month but that because he quoted us the half price he would honor that (even though they don't do that when customers say that they would only be doing a month). We were never told this before we viewed the storage units or before we sat down with the female owner. The female owner looked at us and said "we don't do that and I don't even think that my system would allow me to do that". Okay so I asked can you try? Her response was "No". The the male owner never told us this ahead of time but instead wasted our time to show us what the storage unit would look like. We would have been fine with the full price if he had told us that from the beginning but it was a negative interaction and ultimately the female owner stated that she would rather sell the unit to someone who would pay the full price. We immediately left because of our negative experience. With having worked in retail I know that this is not good business practice. When you tell someone (as the owner) that you would honor a deal that was made you stick with it. Who knows we might have used their business longer than just the month or maybe I might have used it if I needed it one day. It's sad when a business would sacrifice their ethics and customer service just to make an extra dollar (so to speak). Again, I was so mad at how we were treated that I couldn't help but write this review. I hope that some of you would read this and understand how wrong this was and might rethink giving them your business. For owners who were in their business for supposedly 20 years you would think that they would know how to treat a customer. read more

Close by our house. Made a request for a unit during a time when the facility was full. Subsequent follow up was excellent. Sue, Jerry (I think his name is) and Noel are great. Excellent follow through. Excellent service at a time when we needed to switch to a larger unit. Transparency of the conditions and terms was explained in detail. Very satisfied! read more

VERY DISSAPOINTED-I spoke with the assistant Manager Chris the day before letting him know I needed a storage unit as soon as possible. Chris assured me they had the unit available and the cost would be prorated for the current month, and the second month would be 50% off. I went in the next morning and was informed by the managers Sue and Jay that I could not get the second month for 50% unless I was renting out the unit for at least 6 months. Sue informed they only had 1 unit left and could not offer that rate. read more

I have to say that my experience with the staff at Laguna Self Storage was not great. When I went in to ask about buying moving/storage boxes, the lady at the front counter stated that she "didn't have a lot in stock" (although she had boxes on display) and that "I should probably go to Lowes or somewhere else..." I also asked about possible storage space for a car and she told me she didn't have any storage space available. I then left. My encounter started off bad. As soon as I parked at the store, I received a phone call from my daughter, while I was on the phone the staff came out and asked me what I wanted??? I indicated that I was on the phone and would be in shortly. It was all down hill from there. It was my first time there and frankly it will be my last. Not great customer service at all. Everything I said when initially booking remained the same, and I was very happy to have continued using Laguna Self Storage for our unit. A friend referred me to this rental company and gave me a card with another managers name on it. I asked for this manager by name to find out they no longer worked there. I still took a look at a unit and was shown a outside one in which I asked for being handicapped and easier to use. I was treated kindly by the husband of the couple who managed the storage complex. I explained I would need the unit for February 1st and needed to give notice to my old storage complex. He tried to get me to rent it right then offerings many discounts. I explained I had already paid for other unit and preferred to start rental on first of February and asked if there would be a problem holding the outside unit until then? He said no just stop by to sign papers for it by 15th to guarantee that location. I said I would do so and went inside the office to check prices again. The wife was at the main desk and I was introduced to her, but she definitely had terrible people skills and treated me as if I was not worthy to rent there. I left after that experience not happy with her treatment, but thinking I only needed to speak to her once when I signed paperwork if she did that when I returned. On the 15th I called to verify yet again that the outside unit was available and that I would be going there to sign paperwork that day to start rental on February 1st as stated. The male manager gave me the run around and when I asked about availability of outside unit he would not give a answer and when I keep asking he got extremely rude and mean and said he only had four inside units available for February that were not guaranteed since even though they gave notice they could change their minds. I explained that if I used one of those and signed up for it, then gave notice to old rental I would have to definitely move out of old one? His tone was so mean and rude and said then wait and see on first if they move out. I advise anyone looking for a storage unit in Elk Grove, not to use Laguna Self Storage until they change their management. People such as that should not be working with the public. read more

WORST customer service ever!! 1st of all I've been on a waiting list for 2 years, then they put me in a spot that was too small, next they kick me out because supposedly everyone was complaining that I was sticking out too far. I asked them to move me numerous times and they never did. They even told me once that had a spot for me and then they gave to someone else. There are 2 ladies there and can never get their stories straight. They can't remember things that they tell me more than a day later. Worst customer service ever. Horrible management. I don't even see how it's legal to kick someone out if they are a good paying customer that does nothing wrong. read more

Laguna Self Storage is the ONLY place to go if you want high quality storage from people who know what they are doing. Everyone is friendly. I have been renting from Laguna Storage for 3+ years and have had nothing but the best experience. The service has always been polite, professional and friendly. I recently moved out of my storage (as I was able to donate the furniture I was storing to a friend in need) and walked into the office to see what needed to be done to close out my contract. They checked on the remaining days in my billing cycle, printed out a piece of paper and had me sign - it was easy as that. From the day I rented to the day I closed out my contract the rental process was easy. I especially liked how close the storage facility was to where I lived with online bill pay to boot! I seeked a storeage facility, because I needed a large space, and I did not expect to be discrimated and treated like garbage, yelled at, hang up phone, and threatened to move out in 24 hours, call the cops, all because of a yelp complaint and for a Damm storeage space, and have Cindy Watson, the on-site manager, yelled at me on my move in date, regarding a complaint about their Truck, and then advising me to " move the F#$* out, because they are 98% occupied. I spoke to Extra space, and a few others, they were professional and honest. Look at her Facebook post, were she stated several times, she hates her job and she hates the customers. Wow. THEN QUIT, Don't be a racist, jerk, who don't care about the customers needs. read more

I have been with Laguna Self Storage since 2007 and I finally decided to close this storage up beginning of this year 2016.. 9 YEARS! I can't believe it has been that long! One thing I love about this storage facility is that it is very clean and the staff there is very friendly and welcoming! This place is DEFINITELY the ONLY place to go if you want a high quality storage from people that knows EXACTLY what they are doing! I love the hours that they have made available for people who either works early and gets off later. The office manager, Cindy has definitely been a great help and replies back quickly if you have any questions or concerns. I attended an auction at Laguna Self storage today, have been attending auctions for 10+ years and I have been here several times in the past, as such, we have always parked on the premises with no problems with the previous managers they were very nice, but today a new manager ran out of the office telling us in an abrupt manner to park across the the street and pointing to an office complex, after parking there I ran to the office asking and stating that I was assuming they had permision to have us park in another office complex parking lot so that I wouldn't get towed or cited by the other complex security, when an older gentleman came at me abruptly, (another new manager) yelling at me not to come in making demands. (what demands?) I mearly was seeking clarification, He continued the the yelling, rudely demeaning me in front of some of my peers. I left the office and waited out side with a group of more of my peers waiting for the auction to start, when without reason or any kind of provocation this manager came outside and started yelling at me again in front of several more of my peers in effect, and to my belief, singling me out to assert his domination and authority in front of every one. Never in my 10+ years have i had any problems with the many auctions and facilities i've attended. At this facility however, I was yelled at, and put down in front of my peers twice, in a matter of 10 minutes, a very very humiliating experience. It is my personal opinion that these new managers are critically lacking the social skills to conduct their companies business in a professional and curtious manner, and as such could create liability for their company. This is the last place you want to store your belongings. After my parent passed away, we stored all of their antiques and other household stuff until the family could get together and divide their property up. Well when we opened the door, all of our parents stuff was infested with RATS, really, don't you think they would have a pest control company regularly maintain their property! Nope, so I go to the office and tell Cindy Watson about the problem and was told its not their responsibility. Thanks for nothing. We end up calling 1-800 got junk to remove all of the RAT infested antiques that now are worthless. read more
