They refuse perfectly reasonable donations. For example, I brought in 6 clean, completely working florescent shop light fixtures with bulbs and the guy manning the donation door refused them. When I asked why he said they only accept new, in the box LEDs. Seriously?! This was just this week. I've seen this attitude over the past 2 years with other attempts to donate. Inside, the store looks like a mash-up of a used furniture store, a Goodwill with books and dishware, or Olle's inventory overruns; and less and less like a house restoration store with used tools and hardware. Oh, they don't accept wall tiles and ceramics any more either. But if a shipment of trampolines or yard furniture show up, they'll sell them!

We were pleasantly surprised with the large space and inventory. I would agree that somethings may have been overpriced while others seemed like a bargain. However, when we went to the register, the cashier let us know that all the items were actually way less expensive than we thought. Habitat Restore is such a great place in general and I was really happy with this location. Let's start with the parking lot. Although it is a bit tight, the traffic all goes in one direction which is super helpful and the entrance to the building is stairs but there's also a ramp going in, which makes this place handicap accessible and easy to bring home rolling or heavy things from the store. Upon entering the store, I noticed that there are huge signs hanging from the ceiling telling you where things are located which made navigating through the warehouse easy peasy. I was on a mission and immediately found what I was looking for. I talked with a staff member who was friendly and was delighted as two customers who happened to be leaving at the same time as I was, helped me bring my stuff to the car. Bonus! I will be visiting here regularly until I find a dresser for my husband and a lounge chair that I love for our spacious living room. Great place.

They have extensive donation hours and it's very easy to do. Drive up to the east (right) side of the building at the "drop off" sign and hand your bags to the friendly staff. They can provide you with a receipt for your donation. Be sure to check out their cool ticket collection! You can see a tidy display of game-day stubs from Cleveland sporting events going back 25 years. People forget them in their pockets and know you know where they wind up.

Located near the center of Chardon in a larger strip mall this store generally gets better quality items and there are some occasional gems. A typical Goodwill thrift the majority of the store is clothing, there is a large section with home goods, kitchenware and decor; the smaller sections include sporting goods, art and furniture. I have found some really nice pieces here including motorcycle boots, a Native American hand drum and a good sized All Clad pan; these types of finds bring me back to hopefully find more. I do see many items that are either overpriced or just junk; on my most recent trip I did see the lid from Whirley Pop pan by itself priced at $6, I have seen items which cost the same as if you were buying them new at a retail store. Due to its location the Chardon Goodwill store does get some great items, well worth a visit if you are in the area, unfortunately you have to wade through quite a bit of junk and overpriced items to find the good stuff. A bit more attention to the sorting and pricing would be appreciated and could help make this a destination rather then just a stop since there is a better thrift store nearby.

AMBIANCE/INVENTORY: The store is very new, modern, and clean. It is very well stocked. While there is plenty of inventory, most of it is disorganized. Some shelves overflow with housewares and it's impossible to find anything. I found a few good finds at this store. Shoe section contains a lot of seasonal footwear especially women's shoes. The boots are all in pretty good condition. There is a bookshelf with books such as trending "Lessons in Chemistry" and even Edgar Allan Poe book. If you're looking for seasonal decor, you can find Thanksgiving and Christmas merchandise. Books are priced $1.49 (children's books), $2.49 (paperback books), and $3.79 (hardback books). I purchased 6 plates at a buck something each which was a great value! SERVICE: The service is not friendly. You are greeted when you arrive at the store. Beyond that, checkout process is not so friendly. I would recommend this store if you are looking for shoes or clothes. There is plenty of inventory and choices. Upcycle Parts Shop is so many things, but first and foremost, they are a nonprofit promoting creative reuse of everyday objects. There's too much cool stuff piling up in landfills. Upcycle Parts is changing that. Upcycle Parts is a donation center, shop and event space. On Thursdays and Saturdays you can shop the store and mostly everything is under $5. The amount of treasures is astonishing. On their website, they have a full Donations Guide of what they can accept. You can also attend events here to challenge your creativity, like making flowers, totes, wreaths...the sky is the limit with what these talented women come up with. Forget throwing away that old jewelry you're not wearing, donate it to the Upcycle Parts Shop for it to enjoy its second life as something else.

No amount of money can repay what this place did for my family, but I am grateful to be able to give back through a donation, which my company also matches. I organized a children's book drive at work in honor of Dolly Parton's birthday. I asked a friend…read morewho works in publishing and with local charities where the best place to donate books would be and Cleveland Kid's Book Bank was her top suggestion. CKBB has distributed over 4.8 million books to children in the area since 2016. While they do have a small team of employees they also have a lot of volunteers. I personally am very excited to volunteer here in the future. They have about 20 drop box locations in addition to their main location where the books are housed. I dropped off our donation of 425 books and they let me come inside and take a little look around and get a picture. They do have specific hours for drop off but if you call when you get there they will come out and take your donation.

The people running it were friendly and passionate about helping the kids. I would suggest donating money, time or children's books to this place if you can!
